I wonder if the small shop near me will get this early. Maybe I will buy it instead of getting it from redbox if I can get it early.

Whelp, this is some bullshit. I can't wait until Friday.

I know a few places around the city I can look for a broken street date. I must find one. I'll go up to Denver if I have to.
 
So jelly of all of you getting it early. I couldn't pass up using that $20 PSN credit I had. $40 bucks for this game is good to me. But man, I would love to be playing it sooner than later. Still paranoid about major spoilers.

To get a copy of Last of Us, I would. I would bit the top off if I had to just so I could play the game and buy a copy right now.

I'm worried by Preorder will ship late. Its IN THEIR FUCKING WAREHOUSE BUT THEY WONT SHIP IT. Not until the release date. *sigh* That email from FS was a fucking tease. Its like "uhh the game is all ready to go, but its not the 14th ;)"
 
The problem is when i get it on monday i can't play it yet because of E3 ... will probably play it the next day since where i live Sony press conference is at 3AM ....fuck that :/

Generally when I pre order a game, the last few days are when my hype dies down and I worry the game wont live up to my expectation.


But not with TLOU, I want to play it SO MUCH, one of the times I REALLY WISH GAME send the game early ( I got U2 3 days early)

Dammit. I'm killing myself here for preordering with them because of tsilon.

The only reason why I preordered was to get to play the game day one. If they pull what Best Buy did for me with Pokemon Black 2 (I imagine it ships from the same warehouse) I am going to be really frustrated and may choose to preorder future games at retail in store, probably EB games. Not worth it if I can't get it on the first day.

Yes this happen to me a few times.

I preorder this game game back in March, and it really is a good thing I did ,amazon still not back in stock for the Special Edition

the way you talk and how the members try to find a shop that sells the game early is exactly like the game story ( or any movie in Apocalypse future theme )

I have it preordered at FS too, I wouldn't worry too much man I'm sure you'll get it Friday no problem, although I don't know where you live. Btw Friday is the release date just in case you didnt know :P

Worst case scenario, if it doesn't arrive Friday, just buy it from FS and return the shipped game whenever it arrives using the new receipt, assuming you ordered the regular addition.

I honestly can't think of a worse release date for a major AAA game, but the fact its releasing after E3 isin't killing me. Putting it ON A FRIDAY while sending out review copies out of their asses to everyone and with spoilers basically everywhere this is really frustrating me.

I'm more annoyed that some people are breaking street dates and just letting the game out early because its obvious its at numerous locations and shipped, but the fact that its a WEEK EARLY is making me almost as angry as Kratos.
 
Playing The Last of Us makes me wonder why everyone is so desperate for next-gen graphics. I guess not every developer can get as much out of hardware as Naughty Dog. But still.

I'm going to be honest. At this point I may just cancel the order if I can get my hands on the game before thursday for a reasonable price. It seems wrong for such a big release to come on a friday. They knew tons of retailers would break the date yet they still pushed for it. This could have been out this tuesday or better yet, today. Allowing everyone to play it over the weekend and just intime for tretton's smug face to go "So how is everyone enjoying The Last of US, winner of XX game of the year awards", etc etc other PR speech he does like he did for infamous 2.



NOPE. My hype level is reaching Gundam Vs Gundam launch date levels. No other game for me has reached hype that high.

If you clicked release day or two day shipping or whatever, Amazon prime or not, It should be there in the morning or just after noon. Thats how it is for me at least.

Bet you won't be thinking that when you see ND's next gen efforts. Imo, even class leading graphical titles like tLoU are starting to show their age in places. But yea, ND has certainly done a formidable job here, probably extracting the absolute maximum from this aged hardware.

I'm as PC hardcore as they get (how many people specifically boot up PC games at 4K to take screenshots?), but playing through Uncharted 2 for the first time this week has really showed me how competent developers can mask the technical shortcomings of this sadly overlong console generation.

Naughty Dog has what is probably the best understanding of how to use depth of field effects and motion blur to their strength of the entire industry. It really goes a long way.

Considering how impressed I was with the use of those effects in a game from 2009, I can only imagine how much they've perfected it for The Last of Us.

I talked to the flagship bestbuy at the eaton's centre. Made a few friends, walked out with Journey collectors edition and Ratchet and Clank collection quite a few days before the official launch date. I go talk to the EB games employees at the playstation lounge, they said they stick to solid release dates. The thing with these games was that there was no solid release date. It was kind of iffy, but most stores had them in stock and Sony didn't really send a solid release date in Canada besides maybe the supposed launch date from EB games.


EB games has a strict policy with their launch dates.
