Can you save your game anytime or like in most jrpgs you have to wait until you are near a crystal/diary?
Any time!
Plus you get a monstrous number of save slots.

Day one double-dip for me. Seriously wish this was SC coming out but historically speaking since Falcom games have been doing well on Steam we might be able to safely expect this one as well. So hopefully Winter 2014.

This game doesn't stand out to me in any way when I look at it, but when I read people talk about it, it's apparently the most amazing thing ever or something. What's the deal, specifically? Amazing story/amazing combat/amazing everything?
I'll probably get this anyway, because it's a JRPG on the PC and that's a good thing that should happen more often.
No "might be" about it -- it's coming! It's just taking a while.
- Although we were unable to provide you guys with the original Japanese battle voices, those of you who own the Japanese PC version of the game can easily copy the voice files into the Steam or GOG game folder and our version of the game WILL work with them. We just can't provide them ourselves.

Considering that that isn't legal if you don't own the Japanese version, it will have to be somewhere other than here.Splendid! Maybe some good soul will share them

If the OT title can be edited, I submit "TitS on Steam NOW!" as the obligatory lulzy subtitle. Although perhaps that should be saved for "TitS SC NOW" when SC comes out.
That kinda implies that the game is only on steam which is unfair.
How big does everyone think the download is going to be?

Tom, how well does Ys games performed on Steam?Looks like it'll be about 2 GB, give or take.

Turn-based with random stat/RNG modifiers attached to random turns. You have a sidebar showing the sequence of player and enemy turns a la FFX, but the modifiers are derived from Xenosaga's system. Players and enemies also have to move around a square grid and account for range/AoE, and moving itself can take up whole turns. How's the combat?
TitS ain't fake, my friend.... I expect TitS to be small.
Quite.

If you really want to play Ark of Napishtim right now, go to Falcom's online store and order a copy (they should do international purchases and shipping IIRC). Then install the game and the English translation patch.
XSEED's not ready to publish the game on Steam/GOG yet, as they're finishing up projects like SC, Brandish: TDR, Akiba's Trip, Story of Seasons, &c.

This part's about the recent Fire Emblem, innit?A Japanese game that has none of the skeevy PG-rated hentai mess polluting so many games where it doesn't belong?
Not necessarily true about the console projects holding us up. For those, we work with individual developers and their schedules, but PC projects are handled by our programmer, Sara. She can sometimes juggle projects, but her main focus is on one at a time. Right now, that's Trails in the Sky. We also have Corpse Party and Trails SC announced. PC work internally has always been between me and/or Tom, so everyone else in the office can handle other projects.
That's not saying anything about Ys VI, I just mean that in general, PC projects aren't held up by projects like Akiba or SoS.

I've never played the Suikoden games, but hearing that the tone's more like the Game Arts JRPGs is neat. Haven't played a good, meaty JRPG in almost a decade, this could be the one.

Does anything carry over from TC to Zero no Kiseki?
This game coming to GMG?
Zero is a new start, cast, setting, etc. There are several plot elements in the Third that plays it role in Zero which takes place right after the Third.
