The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC |OT| More Olivier Than Ever

Finished Chapter 4.

The dream segment was the best scene since the stage scene in Chapter 1.

Also, the drinking sidequest has been the best sidequest so far. What happens if you don't bring Olivier with you?

(Warning: Chapter 8 quest spoiler)

Another text bug for XSEED to look at. The text triggers and the text display are both bugged in this case.
I don't have the gasoline yet, and I definitely don't have both items, so I don't know why those fields are showing up. I've only just gotten the letter from Murdock.

Update: The entire quest log is bugged lol.

So after I actually got the gasoline, the quest log triggers jumped ahead even further. Loooooool.

I've finally ready to play SC...after so many years...-sniff- (although I might play something shortish beforehand) Can you only buy it from webstore in EU, I could not find anywhere on the Vita store. I've heard it was hard to find but I didn't think I would be able to find it...

I'm getting tired of passed out/dead bodies floating a metre in the air now. It's every single one, there literally no way anyone could've Judd this.

Also, I have 14 Gambler Jack books and the achievement counter is at 9. Not sure why it goes up to 16 but surely I should at least be on 14 now.

14 is all of them, rip achievement

I'm probably far behind most people at this point but I got some time last night and finally played through Chapter 6. Holy shit, this game just got good. I mean, it was already much better than FC but now it might actually be one of my favorite JRPGs ever.

That entire chapter felt like it was straight out of the golden era of JRPGs, stuff like FFIV/VI, Chrono Trigger, etc. You know, the games that made me love JRPGs in the first place. I honestly can't remember the last time I played one that felt like this. Can't wait for tonight to get started on Chapter 7!

Holy cow. End of chapter 8, that back and forth between
Cassius and Olivier
about having met before. That while scene was amazing.

Seeing (Chapter 8 Spoilers)
Olivier and Kloe in their royal threads/positions definitely put a smile on my face. Just wish Olivier didn't revert back to his old attire once he boards the Arseille...

Yeah that was really disappointing, looked much better
as a Prince.

Chapter 9 question
should I send this crystal into the computer to get zemurian ore? Not taken it to the Prodessor yet, does he decipher it? What is the ore for?

Edit: took it back after using it and got
2 of the 9 ultimate weapons for my trouble.

The theming of them in their "last flings" before the burden of royalty get them is not unnoticed by me.

The best part is that guy Klaudia was to be married off to in FC? I think its supposed to've been Olivier. HAH!

He said it was him in the scene. I'd forgotten all about that in FC.

Finished Chapter 6. Yep, definitely a weird bug going on with those
electrified pistons
. Weird that it only cropped up after
Joshua joined
. Even weirder that I didn't see anyone mention it before now (probably because I've been avoiding spoilers). At least they didn't prevent me from making progress, but a few were situated so close to a door that you were immediately trapped as soon as the room loaded.

I finished the game yesterday and it has been so long I was amazed by a RPG like this.

Now I am thinking if I should continue to play 3rd or go for Ao no Kiseki. Unfortunately, a japanese playthrough will take me much more time than an english one.

Just met the final playable character
Josette. I have to admit, I wasn't expecting it to be her. I'm not a big Josette fan but I want her in the party just for the unique dialogue. When I went back to the Arseille everyone made a comment about her and Dorothy made he pose for photos. It's missing awesome little extra stuff like this by not having the right people in my party that keeps me up at night! Seriously though, she's a bit crap, not even got an S Break. Went straight back to the Agate/Olivier dream team.

Josette does get an S-Break, but she's definitely the weakest and least useful party member by that point in the game. Mueller and Julia are better options in Finale
.

Well just finished it up finally its been quite a ride and a long four years in the making!

I don't want to get into too posting spoilers so Ill just go back through the thread and catch up on stuff. Thank you so so much to everyone at XSeed for pouring your lives into this game it definitely is insane the amount of text and variety that you all had to endure to make it whole. What an emotional roller coaster though this game can be. It was so worth the wait.

Hopefully Third Chapter will some how make its way around eventually and in the mean time on to the Erebonian lands of Cold Steel (well...soon)

Chapter 9, I must say interested kinda waned a bit.

Zemuria floating city was cool at first (not to mention reminiscent of Ys), but the back and forth to the Airship got tiring. And the bandit arc now reeks of filler.

You could argue it wasn't necessary, but the Bobcat falling onto the Liber Ark is a great twist (good way to avoid players wondering if they survived and how) and I love Josette's interactions with Estelle/Joshua and the others. Besides, now we have not one, but two airships docked on the city...and then a third because the Glorious is here! Gilbert's arc needs to wrap up anyway; revisiting Glorious is a quick, easy way to see how powerful your team has gotten since the start of the game.

At least the final area of the game is LEAGUES ahead of the final area in FC. Thank goodness. Could've been handled better in terms of party for sure but I'm just glad I don't have to do FC's last part over again lol

What crystal/ore do you refer to? I don't remember any O___o'''

some of these ch. 4/5 sidequests are pretty nice with their development.
the drinking one, the recipe
. others where o
livier clone makes you search for impossible shit can be quite aggravating. searching for random stuff is always awful.

Ha, guess I didn't actually meet the final character. You better believe I put
Mueller
straight in the party though. Got my favourite
duo along for the final stretch.

Trucking along in chapter 8.
Cleared everything in Bose, Ruan, Zeiss, and Grancel. Finally made it to Rolent. Should be able to clear up the remaining stuff here, talk to everyone, follow up on the NPC stories and stuff, fairly quickly.
I'm really taking my time now, because it feels like the final bit before the end. Gotta enjoy it while it lasts.

Still waiting for local stores here to confirm if they'll be getting in Cold Steel Lionheart Edition...

I just read that there's apparently a lot of side-quests in Chapter 8. Its going to be annoying considering I already delivered two ZFGs and revisiting these old areas, finding the hidden side quests gives very good equips/rewards. Now I'm having second thoughts on going back to previous areas.

The non monster quests are worth doing (except the Zeiss one) just for the quests themselves.

Still in chapter one, facing a big problem here :
When i visit the old school, after the healing device there's a boss battle, beside his annoying ability to absorb 1200+ hp in each attack, also one hit to dorothy and she's dead, i repeated the fight over 10 times and still she ruin the match for me (if i can only control her), i used the "AT delay" art by Agate, "The flaming craft that send the enemy far", and Estelle taunt (he resist this), nothing was useful enough :/
any advice?
Edit : Just won, spamming flame smash finally gave a result @@

It doesn't really seem like any of the new casino prizes added late in the game are worth it outside of getting another long barrel III. Maybe on hard/nightmare but I'd rather do more damage and get more turns in them have high defense.

114 hours and I'm done. Definitely the longest I've spent on an RPG. Loved seeing the XSEED team's names and Carpe Fulgar on the end credits, even spotted a special thanks for RyougaSaotome in there.

I thought I was ok with not getting Third but now I'm not so sure, already looking for a trailer to watch.

Searching for 3rd trailers was the first thing I did after finishing SC as well. It's certainly true that SC gives a satisfying ending to Estelle and Joshua's story and it doesn't end with a painful cliffhanger, but... it still just feels like the beginning of something greater and not knowing what all of these characters will be up to kinda hurts. I understand that this open-endedness is true for all Trails games, but stopping at SC just doesn't seem to be as easy as a lot of people claimed.

I'm looking forward to Cold Steel more than before, but at the same time it's even more of a weird feeling to skip three games (for the time being).

Yeah, while certain plot points are definitely resolved here, there's a lot that I still want to know, and I really feel like I still need to see more of these characters.

I am trying to find the strength in me to play 3rd in japanese, I just take too long.

I found a SC clear file and eventually might play it.
It got Renee on the cover and I really want to know what happens to her after SC.

I've seen people call her
Renee before but her name is Renne (just pronounced Ren).

There were many typos still in the game (understandable with the volume of text) but possibly my favourite was right at the end about "Laws and statues". Also, it's "If you think .... then you have another think coming", as in , you need to have another think about it. Drives me mad when people say "you have another thing coming". What "thing" is that then exactly? I'm a dreadful pedant.
