Has anyone compiled a complete list of Shrine Quests and their locations? I'm at just
11
shrines left, and
10
of them are gonna be quest-based going from my Adventure Log --
it lists 32/42 complete
.

Just a heads up about shrine quests:
The game doesn't "trigger" shrine quests as complete by just stumbling upon the shrine on your own by chance. You actually have to have the quest triggered by the NPC or interaction that initiates it.

Basically, what this means is you can actually have all the shrine quests shrines located and completed already, but you haven't triggered the sidequests related to them yet.

I cracked and had to look up the location of one memory
, the one in Hyrule Castle. It didn't even cross my mind it would be there since I thought that was just the final dungeon area of the game and I didn't want to go near until I was ready to finish the game. I originally thought it was in Akala somewhere. Luckily the final memory didn't prove too hard. I made a good guess it was near the swamp after Dueling Peaks.

Also, if I defeat Ganon, can I continue the game using the same save finding shrines and shit or does it automatically go into some new game +? Just a simple yes or no answer is fine.

You need real hearts. I did 32 shrines only upgrading my heart container and defeated 2 divine beasts to get enough hearts. TBH, I wish they tied the master sword to spirit orbs instead of hearts.

You can re-spec, so in a way it also ties to Spirit Orbs as well. In a roundabout way.

...Plus it's easily the weakest arc of all the beasts. Quest is so short and bare compared to the other three.

Rito was my last beast... easily the most disappointed I've felt in the game. Doing Rito last is extremely anti-climactic.

Rito was my 2nd to last, and yeah it was pretty disappointing. The story goes by very quickly and the boss as well.

I think i spent the most time with Zora if you don't count the time i spent getting hearts for
thunderblight

So speaking of past locations from other zelda games in BotW

Sort of spoilers related to finishing 120 shrines but the location in question is also a random shrine location.

What the fuck is the forgotten temple supposed to be? The monks say it's where the oldest statue of hylia is, I half expected them to send me to the temple of time but then they send me to this random ass place

Gotta be the Sealed Temple from Skyward Sword, right? That's even where the giant Hylia statue in Skyloft lands at the end of the game.

Just finished (Not 100%)

I loved it. Loved the shrines, loved the weapon system including degradation, loved the bosses, loved the towns, loved the characters, loved the atmosphere. I loved the ability to climb everything.

its got some serious technical issues. Framerate really shit itself in the final area. Thankfully framerate was back to normal for final boss. Controls and combat took a lot of getting used to.

But they did try in a way to make an overworld that felt a lot like a dungeon. The problem was it felt more like an endless dungeon than an actual world.

Yeah, it felt to me like they overcompensated for the lifeless barren ass excuse of a place the TP world was. In a way they were successful as the world was more interactive. Only they misunderstood entirely what's been wrong with Zelda worlds. They weren't convincing game worlds that would've deserved that name. Not since the N64 generation passed at least.

So they took the game design dead end that are Zelda dungeons and tried to turn the world into one of those. Only Zelda already did dungeons incredible well since forever and the way forward for a stale series was never more ludicrous gimmicks (I enjoyed the motion control, first time Zelda combat had noteworthy depth, thinking of trains, boats, and spinning cogs here) or more of the same things it already does well. The former are just that and the latter then aren't the series true issue.

This thread makes me feel awful about my playing skills. Before I beat my first divine beast, I explored Hyrule field, Hyrule castle town ruins and Hyrule castle from the moat to all the way up in Zelda's room before turning around. This gave me tons of money, treasure, high level gear, food and arrows. While I felt overpowered at first taking on and defeating Waterblight Ganon, Lynels, dragons, rare Stone talus, hinoxes, etc. I was quickly reminded of the fragility of these weapons and the limitations of my weapon inventories. I soon learned to hold onto some high level and special weapons for specific reasons and been able to cycle through other lower level disposable weapons. I also thought I was hilariously rich with 2000 rupees but as I played I realized that there are ways to spend that money quickly for some cool things in return. I suppose the shrine orb upgrades for more hearts or stamina can significantly ease the game but it seems like the game is still plenty challenging from both combat aspects and puzzles. I was genuinely stumped on a constellation puzzle but after 15 minutes of messing around, I realized what I needed to do.

This post illustrates the amazing balance of this game.

I was running around the water in
Gerudo Town and I was perplexed when I saw a Hydromelon shell floating down. I followed it to it's end destination and found a bunch of other Hydromelon shells congregating in one fountain. I was thoroughly perplexed, and decided to see where they were coming from. I then found the Gerudo throwing them. She should be arrested!

This is why I was asking if anyone had a list of info on just shrine quests -- since the majority
10/11
are all quest-based. I'm trying to locate the quest starters with the intent of eventually getting to the shrine, not the location of the shrines themselves. I'm finding that the typical method of eliminating what shrines are left with populated maps on the web is proving to be exceedingly difficult to narrow down now.

Currently working on getting all the towers. Got all the Eastern region and working on the West. The variety between all the regions is so great. I also just love roaming around Hyrule Field.

Question: At night, every once in awhile I see a bright wispy light. I marked it once so I could visit it later. Then I realized some time later when I picked the game back up it was gone. Eventually I saw it again in a different area. Any insight on what this light is? I haven't had a chance to make it to the light before it vanishes.

I wasn't already aware because I'm not constantly checking the map to see where the border is. And once again, this area is connected to that one giant island you're talking about. I was climbing on it!

It's a nitpick for sure, but it's such a random thing to put in the game that needlessly breaks immersion.

I think I know what you're talking about, hit a similar thing the other day. It was extremely immersion breaking, as it was actually a named mountain on the map. I even used
Revali's gale
to make sure there was nothing up there. Sure enough, completely flat and barren on top. What made even less sense is the giant chasm that marks the edge of the world for the north/west sections of the map specifically curved away from the mountain, even further suggesting it was part of the map. Maybe they're putting DLC stuff there?

This is truly one of the most fun games I've ever played. I..can't even expand on this post because it would take a freakin novel to provide all of the examples of why it's so damn fun.

I can't stop playing

That's either one of two things.

It's either
a shooting star that fell to the ground, in which case you can go that spot and pick up what's there (it does disappear after a while).
Or if it's a hazy blue-ish light at the top of mountain it's
...well, just go see it for yourself! :)

I love this game but at the same time I can't shake the feeling that it is kinda broken.

There is so much lovely content in a wonderful world, yet so little incentive for me to do it.

Aside from random mob groups that can wipe you everything else is really easy. What that means is that I find it very hard to motivate myself when it comes to side quests and the likes.

The actual main story line is really short. I feel like I could have beaten the game really quickly but I have to set limits for myself not to. Like 'i shouldn't go to this area before I've gathered x orbs'.

Because your only real goal in this game is beating the final boss. There is no end game in which I can enjoy all that fancy equipment. And you certainly don't need it in order to see the end credits. So then why should I do it? Collecting for the sake of collecting doesn't sit right with me.

I understand this doesn't sit right with the 'give me complete freedom'-crowd. But I think this game would have been so much better, would have taken advantage of all the lovelessness they've crafted, if they just imposed some limits or barriers on the main quest. Force me to do shrines and side quests to progress, please!

And it could have been handled by for example ramping up the difficulty level of the bosses, if you really want to keep the freedom aspect.

Hard mode could fix this, but I doubt it. Depends on how it's executed.

Wow ok. Just beat it after 69 hours, 17.45% completed....

All i can say is as just as i was frustrated with the weapon break thing, i got used to it, end up enjoying it. Simple quick review. Its one of the best game iv played. I mean, eveything is fun in it. The music, visual, fighting searching, i just love it all. Im not a fan to be honest of the story, feel too light head, its maybe its weakest point, but its still enjoyable. I really think im putting it before Witcher 3. Its just that good. And funny thing, its the first Zelda game i beat since..... Zelda 2 The Adventure of Link! Nope, never beat or wanted to continue LTTP, OOT, Majora, Twilight, all other DS game. This one made me stick to it!

Great game, a good 10 out of 10, its as good for me as Bloodborne.!

How long did you have that bad framerate? Was it 20FPS like Kakariko Village?

Anybody who played it on Switch can say if they experienced a similar FPS drop in the final area?

Yeah, the Physics when Molduga actually hits you are Skyrim Tier Broken, except it's totally fun because of the Paraglider and it doesn't kill you. I actually saw a pretty damn cool tactic involving
Daruk's Protection
causing Link to Launch into the air and get free bullet time. Looks super cool to pull off too.

Yeah, this is the ultimate game when "just one more <thing>" turns into another 5 hours of playing.

I went in pretty dark on this, I had no idea how expansive this game really was. I knew it was going to be open world but damn. It's massive and there's so much to do and find that it's insane.

Played the Wii U version. I cant say the FPS made me not like the game. Sure some place the FPS can drop a bit, its extremely playable. Sure if your someone who need 60fps, 4k or die graphics, you might underlook it, but its very playable. The visual style of the game is just amazing!

So a few hours ago my Wii U has the blinking blue home button. Pressed it and this came up.

I'm pretty sure this never poppy up before. I would have expected this to pop up two weeks ago. They're still playing the Breath of the Wild theme in the Eshop, hopefully they keep it all month.

I do wonder why they remove the option to purchase the DL directly from the Eshop though. It's been over a week but the option was there when the game launched.

I actually bought it for Wii U last week ($40 thanks to Targets B2G1) and I've always planned to play it on Wii U. In summer when hard mode comes out and when Nintendo hopefully restocks the 30th Anniversary Amiibos.

I've seen plenty of videos and nothing looks bad to me personally. The only big difference between versions to me is the 20FPS for some villages on Wii U and I'm fine with that. I was curious about how battle this final area is compared to the village and how much better it was on Switch.

Well the final battle, areas of the game, for me, i didnt notice a frame drop that made me realise it. Itmwas dor sure better imo than Kokoriko village if that can give you an example.

These Yiga Blademasters are annoying the hell out of me. How the hell can I kill them?
The random spawning ones. I use Stasis on them then hack away on them but it still takes too long to kill them. I feel like my gear is still shit.

These dudes trend to exclusively spawn in thunderstorms for me, which I find hilarious

Spears always work for distance

Edit: Oh I might be thinking of the weaker ones.

I think I saw this once. I think it's a
"fallen star".

Your gear is shit. How long is it taking?

Most likely the first thing you said since it's something that appears in different spots and disappears from previous spots. Thanks!

Ah ha, me too! Got it with Nier: Automata and Horizon for my brother's birthday, but I haven't had the time to get anywhere in BOTW. Plus I've been unsure about the FPS as well, I keep reminding myself that OoT was apparently actually 20fps at all times and that I didn't notice then, but I'm obviously much more mindful of these issues than when I was a kid. I definitely would like to see more impressions of the Wii U version. Unfortunately, the thread dedicated to that version hasn't updated in a while.

Can you give an idea of how it performed at
Death Mountain, the various forests and the jungle area
? I've heard they all have very bad framerates so I was wondering how they fared in your opinion. What about other villages as well? I heard that
some kind of "corruption" substance causes problems
, what about when defeating big enemies? Turning the camera quickly? I've even heard people having the game stutter to open and close the menu.

Probably very LTTP on this but I only just read about the items in the game from unreleased Amiibo.

Files for TP Link, SS Link and MM Link.

TP Link is same unlocks as Smash Bros Link, SS Link gives Hero of the Sky set and Goddess Sword, and MM Link gives Fierce Deity set and Fierce Deity Sword.

MM Link is hype as fuck, gonna buy that day 1.
