The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD - Loftwing flight footage

I still don't understand how this Zelda game could look so much worse than the previous two that were on the previous generation hardware.
lol, I think it looks much more interesting and unique than Twilight Princess and at least on par with Wind Waker. It's just different in the end.

I liked SS better than Twilight Princess.

I don't know why people are upset. It's a HD port of Skyward Sword on Switch, just like TPHD and WWHD 🤷‍♂️ It's exactly what it's supposed to be.
These games have aged very badly, with the exception of Wind Waker. I am a huge fan of the Wii U and have both Zelda remakes on it, I can hardly play TP anymore. And this looks like it suffers the exact same problems. It looks super rigid, super rough.

Going back to this after playing BotW is impossible for me. BotW might have forgotten to have proper dungeons, but it still was a huge improvement in the controls department.

The game is absolutely shit but the least they could have done is make it look shiny. Whatever though, couldn't pay me to play this.

TP, much like SS, needs to be played on an appropriate screen to really get the game to look as it should. SS looks great on a small screen but is jaggy as hell on anything modern.

TP is kind of the same, save for the HD version. The HD version looks effing awesome when you tweak the video settings just right, the lighting/lantern in it is super atmospheric.

SS is still one of my favourite Zelda games; I basically bought a Dolphinbar just for it. But there's no way I'm playing it again, even with the new controls, unless they removed the awful (F)un-Fun Island or made the Silent Realms more forgiving (I'm too old for that crap).

I don't even mind the "warp from anywher" feature being locked behind an amiibo, to be honest; I didn't need it the first time, and I definitely won't need it even if I did play the game again. The amiibo itself looks pretty nice, too, but I've never bought one and probably never will.

Legit opinion. TP disappointed me immensely at release, and even on my replay with the HD version I didn't find it very inspired. Some dungeons are excellent, but almost everything in between isn't.

SS isn't perfect by any means and some parts of it are real duds, but it's got some very creative moments and, as an adventure, I liked it way more than TP. I never replayed it until today but, truth be told, I've only ever replayed TP when I got new version of it (GC first, then Wii, then WiiU) - otherwise, I never felt the urge to replay TP like I sometimes have with every Zelda released before the GC era.

Oh nintendo. All that money and cant even update grass textures. Money will make you lazy.
Yeah, I'll be spending that money on Horizon Forbidden West instead. A vastly overhauled and improved Skyward Sword remaster might actually have been interesting. Shame.

Watch this lowres blurry looking game score 9 or 10 in reviews just because it has zelda in the name. Imagine if it was biomutant instead

And how do you distinguish a port from a remaster? Any proofs? Because to me its a remaster - 60fps + resolution + wide screen + controls + who knows what else changed. Also they have a source code so whats the point in emulation?
Simple, ports you have to port on a game by game basis, with an emulating framework you don't - one size fits all.

Instead you tweak the front end.

We'll know how it works until it ships and someone looks at it. Mario Sunshine and Galaxy HD recent remasters were using an emulator that was ready for other games.

Eh, I think it's very good and deserves 9s and 10s, personally. But to each their own.
terrible repetitive content and a small overworld along with fi who is a worse narrator than biomutant. Skyward sword is a 6/10 at best if it wasnt zelda in the name.

A smaller more focused game without the backtracking and without motion controls would have been amazing IMO.

But yes I agree 6-7 max. I did enjoy the game however, but it wasnt specatcular.

As I said, to each their own. You don't need to try to convince me that the game is bad. I know the game and I know why I like it, and I consider it a 9 easily.
