Those vintage lego sets are pure awesome. Anyone know where I could get at least a huge catalog of the old sets? They used to send me catalogs in the mail.

Seeing that picture brings a tear to my eye. Its one of the few sets I had growing up.

I just picked up the new Millenium Falcon which is pretty solid. Also if you are thinking big, get the Death Star while you can. I'm guessing it will be sold out right before Christmas.

I've already got the '7778 : Midi-scale Millennium Falcon' and '10179 : Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon' (one day I'll actually build it...)

So I think I should be ok for Falcons... unless I can get another UCS one...

Dude, just sell that UCS Falcon. I'm kicking myself for not hoarding some like I had planned to...

When I was about 9 or 10, I sent LEGO a letter saying they should make a Saturn V set. Years later, in 2003, they release this:

And they didn't tell me! I only found out about it a couple weeks ago. Now the set is very rare and very expensive. Damn you LEGO!

Sell the UCS? And you kick yourself for not hoarding some...

Conflicting advice?

I'll build the UCS when I actually have the room to build it and display it.

I knew I shouldn't have walked into the Lego store in Downtown Disney earlier this week...cuz I knew I would walk out with this:

And I just bought the new Lego Falcon (and Luke's lanspeeder) a few weeks ago as well...

I'm done with Lego for the time being =P

We are all LEGO freaks.

We go to BrickWorld in Chicago every year. BrickWorld is a huge LEGO convention that takes up all of the ballrooms in a large hotel. Here are photos from the past years.

2009 includes videos of some MindStorm creations.

Here is a Rokenbok/LEGO machine we made after going to our first Brickworld (video):

Did anyone have the pneumatic LEGO sets as a kid? I had a couple and they are MIA. Every LEGO set I owned as a kid has been found except those. I have a feeling my parents eBayed them and won't admit it. :(

Were the Lego Basketball sets any good? I felt like I missed out on them when they were available.

I played the Soccer one in a store and it actually worked really well. I can't see shooing the ball working as well as kicking.

Man, I prefer a lot of those older Lego sets where they were more original. I don't like how most of them these days seem to be licensed after something. Lego blocks are awesome on their own, they don't need no stinkin' licenses!

A Goodwill nearby has these but I won't be picking them up for obvious reasons:

Our local Goodwill had the Star Wars MTT NIB for $12. My wife called and asked if she should buy it. Uh...
I have photos of it on Flickr and people offer to buy it (or the droids) every couple of months. I didn't realize it was 'rare'.

Yeah, hoarding them until now seeing as they can sell for upwards of $1800 in some auctions.

Cindres

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
I had the basketball and the soccer ones, soccer one definitely worked better, passing and shooting with the b-ball was damn tricky.

Rebrickable website

Saw this on brothers brick, basically you log in, enter the set numbers you own, then it will tell you what other sets you can make, even with a percentage in case your close to having a another set but missing a few pieces.

You can change your accuracy too so you can find sets that you have the pieces for in similar, different or exact colours, very cool stuff

I would love another Lego game that isn't just a movie franchise.

Also had this game but it was nowhere near as good as Island.

Insane For Sony
This website is a must for anyone even remotely interested in Lego:

http://remocable.blogspot.com/

It's kind of a curated collection of best Lego creations this guy found around the web. That guy being the one who made that insanely detailed black/white rundown victorian lego house - so needless to say he's got a good taste about these things.

I just found this there:

Also, this is pretty great:

Oh, wow.

This guy, right here, I begged and begged and begged and begged my mother for and I was so excited when I finally got him. I love the little robot guy, too. He was my absolute favorite. I was in such a huge robot phase at the time.

I haven't thought about this in years. It's so sad now thinking how I just lost more and more pieces to this over the years. I wish I had taken better care of my stuff as a kid.

There's one without a box for just $30 on eBay. Grab those childhood memories...

Ebay is so dangerous for rare Lego sets. Just bought the X-Wing and now considering the Snowspeeder. Had these as a kid but foolishly lost half the pieces, and the recent Star Wars BDs have really scratched the nostalgic itch.

I haven't bought a Lego set in years and wanna get some new ones, whats a good place to look? The Lego Store at my mall seems kinda expensive but I'm not sure if it is or Legos just went up in price.

Why is it dangerous?

As much as I despise Cheapassgamer, they have a decent Lego deals thread.

Haha, yeah me too!

One of my favourite Lego Technic sets:
TK94-11.JPG

I loved the huge, soft tires and the suspension on this thing was incredible, could drop it from a height and it just bounced calmly to the ground :p

I finally got the storage bins of Legos from my mother's house the other week. I had so many of the space and castle sets from the late 80s and early 90s. My nieces and nephews have pillaged pieces here and there over the years my mother had the boxes in storage, but I finally drove back home instead of flying, and was finally able to take them.

I still have tons of the instruction manuals, but looking through the bins I can tell so many pieces are gone, like the crazy plates like the Blacktron second gen base.

Now that I am in my 30s, I am starting the OCD task or organizing and sorting the bricks. I am a madman.
