Saw this at K-mart earlier and couldn't believe my eyes. Even with all the graphical wizardry that Lego usually rape the front of the box with, it still looks so sparse for $50.

They are banking on people buying it for Wolverine, Magneto Deadpool. Sadly, I think it's a winning strategy.

I saw it and thought the same thing. For $20 I would most likely bite, but at $50? No way. Maybe we, as Australian Lego-GAF, should get some sort of group import going or something? I know there are some sets I'd be willing to jump on if they were closer to US prices rather than our terrible ones.

SOME?! Dude, at US prices, I reckon I could single-handedly keep TLG in the profit margin.

I bought the Town Hall during the TC14 promo for $250 which is amazing considering it's only a 25% markup on a premium set. Lego obviously agree and promptly changed the RRP to $300.

Just made my first order and adventure in ordering from the US shop.lego.com store via a redirect service, order the following in 2 orders, not sure if I'll get 2 hulks but it's worth a shot.

Order #1
The Hulk™ x1
Captain America's™ Avenging Cycle x1
Wolverine's™ Chopper Showdown x3
Loki's™ Cosmic Cube Escape x3

Order #2
LEGO® The Lord of the Rings™ Frodo Poster x1 (freebie that seems to have been added by lego)
The Hulk™ x1
Gandalf™ Arrives x2
Shelob™ Attacks x3
Attack on Weathertop™ x1

Those duplicates are less than half the price in the US of the australian RRP so I got a couple extra to sell

And Im surely not the only non-aus gafer that would happily mail stuff to australia. :)

Welp...

Just ordered The Cool Cruiser from Overstock and then the Orc Forge. Mines of Moria and Gandalfs Arrival from the Lego store. Wallet does cry :P

lol my wallet has been crying since I've been looking at this thread, don't want to compute the total damage lol

I'm sad the NL store doesn't have LOTR or Monster Fighters yet (it's generally slow for everything), so I'm not exactly sure what to get for the Hulk minifigure :/ No free shipping also makes it a bit harder to buy from L&H instead from somewhere else cheaper.

The NL store fucking sucks. Somehow you can suddenly no longer order those planets with mini's in them (Star Wars). I'm happy I bought the TIE interceptor in April.

Hey guys I found the 5767 set for $25 and free shipping at overstock. ???

http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys/LEGO-Cool-Cruiser-5767/6198786/product.html

This is the first time I've been to Overstock.com. What a joke!

For Canadian customers at least, everything is marked up more than Toys R Us. Those little Star Wars planet sets are $20 each.

On the upside, it reminded me that I haven't watched the OverShoppe.com commercial in ages.

Avatar? So there's 2, maybe 3 females in prominent roles.

In my Star Wars minifigs I have Leia (several), Padme, Ventress, Aurra Sing, Sugi, Luminara, Barriss, Shaak Ti, Ahsoka, Zam Wessel and Juno Eclipse. Funny how that line is conveniently overlooked...

Plus females seem to be fairly well represented in the minifig series as well, not to mention Friends (which ironically TLG got criticism for). They can't seem to do anything right for some people.

So cleared my table in preparation for the modular fire brigade build this weekend.
My gf is there and we will have loads of fun together. ^^

My collection is growing out of hand....

Just disassembled and stored Cannibal Escape, Ewok Attack and Robot Rescue. RIP, guys. I'm sure I'll see you all again in one way or another; most likely reincarnated as some very mediocre MOCs. So, as to what's on display, that leaves the Midi Falcon, X-Wing, Mini Modulars, Unimog & Crane Truck. Next to join the fleet will probably be the Sopwith or the Volkswagen Camper. Bonerzzzzz.

Hai Guys. Whats the deal with being a Lego Vip aside from racking up points? I know it says that you have access to exclusive sets and what not, but I fail to see any other benefits aside from getting the $5.00 every time we get 100 points?

Exclusive sets and the money off future orders are the main things. The exclusive this year is the Mini Modular set:

I have not gotten it yet, but will soon. Only $80 for $1356 pieces. Good deal in the end, and supposedly some VERY interesting and neat building techniques in it.

You know, I really appreciate the staff in the Lego store.

I went in today hoping to find some of the series 7 minifigs I still need (five of them). As soon as I picked up my second baggie an employee came over and asked which ones I was looking for. Within a couple of minutes he had identified them all. I can't imagine it's fun to do that all day every day but he graciously offered and did it with a smile.

A bucket of bricks, the Wolverine chopper set and the figs put me over the limit for the Hulk minifig. Good times.

I've always noticed how helpful they are, even more than the people at the Apple Store. I think that chopper set will be rare by Christmas and that Deadpool minifig will be fetching $ 20-30

damn thats nice.
too bad the german lego store sucks big time.
no avengers sets, no lord of the rings, no master builder academy and no mini modulars.
i would really like to buy the mm but they dont show up in the store even tough i am a vip.

Funny you should say that. I came directly from the Apple Store and thought the same thing. It isn't that the Apple employees weren't helpful exactly, but they were a bit patronizing.

Today's Apple Store employees are trained to think that 95% of their customers are drooling idiots looking for an iPhone or iPad.

Went today and I wanted nothing, so I settled for a second Bat Cave to get the Hulk fig. Was also told that they got an allotment of 600 but did not expect them to last the weekend as they are being handed out so frequently.

What the hell is going on with Amazon? First, they still don't have the small Lord of the Rings set. And second and more significantly, I placed my order Monday morning and it still hasn't shipped. It's been "Shipping Soon" for almost two days now. If they're pulling this crap to get me to sign up for Amazon Prime, they're going to be sorely disappointed.

That is their MO for the free saver shipping shit. They wait days for no reason.

Ugh the high shipping costs plus sales tax on lego.com make me think the small hulk fig is not really worth it :( I have the large one which is more suitable anyway O.o Still studying on this dilemma...

the store.lego.com does have the Funhouse Escape set which is hard to find elsewhere...

100% agree on the smaller LotR sets! I ordered some of the bigger sets on amazon but if they don't get the smaller sets i'm going to be upset.

i had a LEGO set i ordered about a month ago get lost after shipping from amazon, despite that I've been using amazon for over 10 years and have never had a package lost before. ordering LEGO from amazon evokes some sort of curse ^__^

where?
i signed in to the vip program and followed this link
http://shop.lego.com/de-DE/Mini-Modulsets-10230?_requestid=68600
but it just takes me to the main shop page?

You can't just sign up to be a VIP member, you have to order something first only then will the Mini Modulars show up. Stupid as hell, but that's how it works.

I was caught by surprise today as my mini Hulk/Volkswagen has already been shipped, no waiting for days on end.

Just dumb luck or is Lego finally getting there act together?

I vote for dumb luck.

yup, with the shipping cost and the sales tax on lego.com, i'm having second thoughts too, the Star Wars promo was better because of the free shipping

I've never been a Prime member so I don't know but I've noticed they've gotten slower in the last year or so. Some things still mail out very fast though, and once it's sent, it gets here fast. Articles came out last year about the horrid conditions of their warehouses so I just figured their workers are very overworked.

ah ok.
does it matter for how much you make the order?
i would just buy a cheap set for 5€ to become vip and then order the mm to geht the hulk minifig.
would this work?

That should work, you could just order a key-chain mini fig and it would work, just keep in mind your gonna have to pay for shipping for the small order so make it worth while if you can.

The Mini Modular's are worth it though, really great set, it's super fun to build, and a is a lovely display piece that doesn't take up much room.

So what's the deal with those Master Builder sets? Saw one today, but didn't check it out that much since the front cover looked rather boring.

Small Hulk has purple pants. Small Hulk wins.

Small Hulk is more posable. Small Hulk wins.

Small Hulk has parts to swap around with other mini figs. Small Hulk wins.

Small Hulk so small he get smashed by big Hulk. Big Hulk wins.

Keychain of this plz.

Someone at work apparently knows how to make any minifigure into a keychain. I guess he gets one of the actual keychains, smashes it and takes out the key ring. Then, he drills a hole in the top of the minifig and twists it in. I've want him to make me a bunny suit guy one.

Can I buy this in-store? Should it be on display, or do I have to ask an employee for it?

(I'm heading to the LEGO store this evening to get my li'l Hulk.)
