some new additions to my ikea frames, photos aren't great but they will do.

nice, I have yet to get series 8.
probably next month or so.

Today I bought minifigs. I tried to feel what they were

I thought it was Poseidon, and got Poseidon :D
I thought it was Space Marine, and got a Stuntman.. which I actually like better.

I'm always amazed at how photos of the B-wing simply do not convey how MASSIVE this ship is. It doesn't look that big in photos. But when you see it in real life, you're instantly struck by how large it is. That's no moon... it's a space station...

That is how the Imperial Shuttle is to me. You can look at measurements all day long, but it isnt until you are at a certain point in building it that you realize, "Holy crap. This is huge."

Have you gotten the Imperial Shuttle yet? Also, older time lapse video of that build that kind of conveys the size.

Me and my wife are making the Imperial Shuttle now and yeah, it's going to be huge. We aren't even done with the first instruction manual and we are both really impressed.

It gets big, but once you start constructing the top fin it really hits you with just how huge the set is.

No, I haven't got the Imperial Shuttle. I don't think that I'm going to unless I find it for a really reduced price. I'm not particularly enamored by the overall look and design of this ship. I like virtually everything from Star Wars, but the Imperial Shuttle is one of those rare ships that doesn't do it for me for some reason. Plus, my wife would kill me if I bought another large display set.

For those looking for series 8 minifigures sets, I have a few that I'm going to post in the buy/sell/trade thread here. I'll post here as well.

It is one of the more fairly priced Star Wars sets, and one of the best looking models once done. But I do understand that the design is not for everyone. Just look at how many people from here don't like the B-Wing. :)

I'm am going to pick up the imperial shuttle hopefully this week if they have one here in Nashville. It's my favorite Star Wars set. And I hate the bwing.

Simultaneously?

And now that you have them, don't they look so much better all together?

Naw, I got them separately each time. Hilariously enough, we weren't expecting to get either one of these in such succession. We just got lucky with sales and all. :D I just kept building back to back.

But, as another one who built them over time, you agree the sexiness of the sets increases when they are combined.

Just picked up the Creator Lighthouse set.

Did the fish restaurant build today; it looks fine and has a nice little boat, but I think I'll go straight to the Lighthouse after I dissemble it. The restaurant and the boat dock look pretty similar to each other.
It's pretty cool to finally have a light brick, though!

But I do wish LEGO would get better about the packaging on some of their sets. This one was around 500 pieces and the box for it was GIGANTIC, just like the Creator Cool Cruiser. I know they have to include 3 manuals (how about one, nicely bound big one LEGO?), but there is still a massive amount of space left in the box for it.

I know the Architecture sets tend to have smaller piece sizes, but they make sure to only use how much space they need for them.

I've been eyeing that set for a long time, I think it looks really inspired. Much more than the rest of the creator houses (except for the log cabin).

Yea, I agree. The box looked like it would have a lot of pieces, but wasn't that bad over all.

That said, I really liked building the lighthouse. Pretty neat build.

I am just about to take apart my lighthouse from my summer display - it's a great set, and hopefully the start of LEGO trying something other than houses in the Creator line.

Picked up the Hillside House last week, and the Apple Tree House this week (as it looks to be heading OOP soon).

Both houses are great, and wonderful sources for MOC pieces. The two half base plates in Apple Tree House are great, as is the plethora of dark blue roof pieces.

My dinosaurs arrived today, a day after my sons birthday when we needed them :(

They are very cool though quite a bit of articulation in the head and mouths on the larger ones. I got the green t-rex, stegosaurus, the brown pteranodon, a green coelophysis and one of each of the coloured raptors (brown and green)

seriously tempted to get the brown t-rex, green pteranodon and the green coelophysis with the green stripes as they are very cool mini? figs.

First thing I thought of doing with them was making dino riders but turns out someone else already did it.

those are different to the earlier rumoured list. Thor and Hawkeye are cool, don't have any avengers minifigs and the kids love the movies. Mini quinjet is really nice too.

as usual the ones I really want are clustered around the weekend. Probably the three avengers sets, and then LOTR and the ninjago (can never have enough ninja minifigs)

I would say go for it, as I get the feeling that the dinos are going to climb in value once the sets are off the market - they are really good quality mini (maxi?) figs.

That's what is puzzling about the Dino theme - why spend so much on creating these great dinosaurs (it must have cost TLG quite a bit to make these big custom moulds) and package them with such generic sets? I would have loved to see a second year of the theme, with hopefully stegosaurs, ankylosaurs and even perhaps brachiosaurs, but since this theme fell flat with consumers that isn't going to happen.

I got replacements parts for some custom minifigs I'm working on, as well as two classics. I just need to remove some existing detailing and start painting them up.

Also, since I did just that on lots of minifigs back in the days, I ordered a ton of replacement helmets. Most of the damage I did should be reversible, but in many cases I cut the chin strap part of the helmets, so these will be used to restore my old space guys. Maybe even correct the one that's in the green collector set, it bugs me that the "Classic Space" guy has a generation 2 helmet.

I got the Space Police and the Blacktron guy complete, just because these guys look so awesome, and I want to make sure I have them if I can rebuild the set I used to have.

I love all my children...

... except for that UCS Jedi Starfighter... that set has no business keeping company with the UCS line.

Out of curiosity, what's so bad about that set. It looks cool in the pictures, but a lot of people seem to hate that set and I was wondering why.

Only 676 pieces, lackluster build experience, cockpit will fit minifig but R4 dome (no body included, its just the dome) is way oversized in comparison.
