Yep. The first season was great, but as it went on it became a parody of itself. The initial romantic aspects between the main character and the girl were done well, then after certain events the show uses her to shit on him and emasculate him continuously, which isn’t fun to watch. The relatively subtle innuendo by the bi guy in the first season turns into 24/7 hypersexualized flame city, initial villain has gravitas and intrigue but that fizzles out, etc. etc. Writing went down the drain.

Shame. Wonder if the books are worth a read.

Dropped the show in season 2. Many of the revelations were just uninteresting. Given the premise they started with, I did not expect mediocrity.

The books are worse since they take more effort to trudge through than something passive like tv.

I read the books, which were ok. Then the show, which was meh, but I stuck with it and it did actually get much better. Definitely darker and more interesting. Worth sticking through the bad bits for a nice payoff at the end.

I need to get through season 4 and 5. I went ahead and bought the Blu-ray set. It is like $10 a season.

I looked it up. The show totally deviates from the books. It is almost like it's own thing.

That mosaic episode was the best ep of the series. Also, Margo is the best character.

I enjoyed it on average but it is very up and down.

S1 was good. S2 just felt a bit aimless. S3 felt like they solved everything far too easily and Alice made me rage. S4 and S5 were a step up again.
