The "my pre order vendor f*cked my Switch release day delivery" thread

It's release day, I don't have my Switch, Best Buy Canada hasn't shipped yet, so yeah, I'm not happy.

Amazon finally shipped my order. Coming tomorrow. Feel bad I have to refuse the delivery. I'm never using amazon again, I will do things old fashioned, walk into stores and shop.

mine says shipping now, arriving today.

it's almost 2pm.

Not to give you false hope, but there has been at least one time for me in the past where this happened and it arrived. Sometimes they just don't update the tracking information until it's delivered, so it goes from preparing to ship to delivered without anything in between.

I'm also at "shipping now"

I'm just gonna assume it'll come next week. Extremely disappointed. I don't mind the wait, but just tell us in advance. I literally scheduled my past 2 weeks around making time to no-life Zelda this weekend. Shit sucks.

How do I get free shit from Amazon CS?

I was screwed by Amazon. Preordered on 1/13. Checked with customer service this morning because it was saying "now shipping" for the last 2 days and I was assured I'd have it today. Then I get the message that it won't be here until Monday at the earliest. Call them up and get so much bs that I want to spit. Cancel my order and demand a full refund. Never preordering through Amazon again

I'm in the same boat

But Amazon never took my money, so I think this is a bad sign

I'm gonna play Splatoon while I wait, but kinda sad. They shipped out on the second, but I seem to get that tracking glitch where it doesn't actually update so I'm not sure where its at, its stuck on Label made, but swears it will be here on monday.

Best Buy did everything in their power to ruin my launch day experience. I was the first person to pre-order in store for midnight launch back when the pre-orders went up. I put a deposit on the Switch, Zelda, and frickin' 1-2 Switch. They should be catering to customers like me.

Instead, they had one long line stretched around the block for both pre-orders and campers, and then let in only 5-10 people at a time. Which means that the campers who got there at 2PM cleared out all the accessories. And pre-ordererers had to wait around in line for an extra 30-60 minutes.

It's ridiculous. They should have two lines, one for campers and one for pre-orders. The whole reason we pre-order and invest early is so we don't have to hold our bladder in line for 10 hours. On top of that, they double charged me for Zelda and 1-2 Switch.

And they wonder why Amazon is taking their business. Good thing the Switch is so slick and easy to set up. I was playing in less than 10 minute after I got home! Even the Day 1 patch was incredible fast.

From all the problems I'm hearing about the Switch hardware problems and such I would probably rather pick my butt than buy a Switch tbh

But why are you in this thread specifically? There's the "why aren't you buying a Switch" thread that your post would make more sense in.

Gamestop said there was still .90 cents to pay for my switch, somehow...paid it gave me a refund for overnight shipping and said it will be here by monday 😭 total bullshit

My Amazon delivery was delayed due to weather. Walmart delivery is who the fuck knows where. Oh well. That's why I took vacation for the following week.

There are like 20 Switch threads on the front page that comment would fit fine in, my comment was in parallel with the OP who talked humorously about picking his butt so I went with that.

Fuck Amazon.de. I'm PISSED.

I ordered within the first minute it was available, reloading the page like an idiot.
I'm a paying prime member.
The package was sent with Amazon Logistics, no excuse about some third parties.

Yet I was just informed that the delivery will be delayed 1-2 days without any reasons but transport problems. It was already in my city ready to be delivered since yesterday morning. I live in fucking Berlin, they offer sameday delivery over here.

I contacted support via chat to ask what is going on and she offered me a single month of Amazon Prime just as exactly that service totally failed on me. I asked if she was serious, she offered me a 5€ gift card instead, that's 1€ more worth than a month of Prime.

I'm boiling.

This has happened to me a few times. I'd stop contacting Amazon customer service, stop freaking out, and chill. Wait until 8pm. If it doesn't come, then raise hell. But for real this has happened to me before and the cs people at Amazon really don't have new info.

If you get an email it's delayed then that's something else.

Does Nintendo not officially releasing products in the country next door to them count as "Vendor fucked my order?"

My Switch is out for delivery in another country right now, then it'll get shipped to me.

In South Korea

Amazon treasure truck just advertised they're selling the neon switch today (sold out already).

Meanwhile my preorder from seconds after it was listed still says shipping soon.

What the fuck, Amazon.

Amazon Cs told me it will arrive today even when it says preparing for shipment. Pretty please... Cutting it close though.

If you got charged it can be coming through a fulfilment center today. That's the update I got when chatting with amazon

I see pending charges in place so possibly. I did have a rep say that shipments were being boarded on trucks so. Here's hoping.

Everyone must've been going hard on Amazon's CS because I was offered a $40 refund for the delay when I asked them if there's an update about the shipping.

I feel bad about it :/

My Amazon Switch is supposedly supposed to be here today has sat at "preparing to ship, delivered by 8pm" since yesterday. I'm not too hopeful it will get here tonight but if not at least I'll get some Amazon credit

Finally contacted Amazon because of this BS.

"There was a technical error in the fulfillment center that caused a delay on your order."

They're telling me it wont be here until Monday.

If your Amazon orders are stuck at "Shipping today", you're likely in the same boat. He said this is affecting a lot of orders.

My Switch was shipped on time from Best Buy but this one was for a close personal friend of mine who couldn't afford it at the time preorders went up. This is infuriating.

CS told my friend the same thing. They admitted that there was a major error that prevented her order from shipping. The CS had to actually go and fix her order and upgrade shipping to Saturday delivery. Now she has two UPS labels finally and it seems her orders are moving.

It's amazing how Amazon screwed up so badly. So these items didn't even get to the shipping part. And the reason the status was stuck at preparing for shipment for 48 hours, was because they literally screwed up and it couldn't move past that.

People with stuck status need to contact CS ASAP and specifically tell them about this situation. Because I've seen CS reps who are just telling them it will ship eventually, but aren't actually fixing the problem - which is their order is stuck in their system.

My friends CS rep had to actual go and fix the problem. Most CS reps aren't slog that. It's infuriating.

I'm okay with waiting a couple days but the treasure truck thing triggered me.

Also is it possible to change delivery address with Amazon or will that just delay or possibly cancel the order? Mine still hasn't shipped but maybe their system is just delayed. I had planned to receive the package at work.

After the chat support I contacted the hotline and got a 30€ refund. I can deal with that. Still lost a lot of trust in Amazon Prime. Will try Media Markt/Saturn for a similar preorder mext time :/

Talked to Amazon CS and they told me the item is "unavailable" and there's no information on the order's stock.

Sigh.

Gamestop said there was still .90 cents to pay for my switch, somehow...paid it gave me a refund for overnight shipping and said it will be here by monday 😭 total bullshit

Oh man, PLEASE dont let this be what's happened to my order. Can't even contact CS to find out, because I'm not the one who placed the order (paid for it, but didn't make it so I don't have the Order Number off-hand).

Hurry up, 8PM. Lemme' know if I'm getting anything or if my Uncle's going to be furious for the rest of the weekend after personally paying for Overnight Shipping.

Didn't preorder, but bought a Switch online from Best Buy this morning, then bought Zelda online from Best Buy about an hour later. Already got shipment notification for Zelda, but not for the Switch. Please don't let me down Best Buy!

My order for both my switch and BotW through Amazon have been stuck in "On the way" though tracking says they've been sitting in their shipping facility since 10pm last night. As far as I can tell both the UPS and mail haven;t stopped by my complex yet so I'm not too stressed as of yet but it's almost 2 here and I was hopping to get some playtime in before my gf gets home from work later
and promptly takes over the tv to play herself.

GAME promised me launch day delivery but I'm getting it on the 6th instead.

Not mega upset but I wish I had it now.

zelda shipped and won't be here until tomorrow. Unfortunately I already cancelled my grey switch.

Time to get that prime compensation along with $5

Here's a question:
If my credit card shows "Pending" for both Zelda ME and Switch charge what does that tell me? I hope it means they shipped & only my status is not updating.

I warned people numerous times in the pre-order thread that Amazon had changed shipping dates from release day-Friday until Tuesday of the following week. One GAFFER read my post and found they had changed his too but was able to get shipping back to launch day. Folks really need to pay attention to their orders. I hope everyone gets their units quickly.

Mine came early this morning from Amazon. No issues. P.S. Fuck GameStop. Anyone putting faith into them to get product delivered on time......you'll learn the hard way I'm afraid.

Just got off the phone and Amazon said for me to expect it tomorrow or Monday. They gave me $20.

Meh. Not the happiest camper but I have other games I can catch up on in the mean time

Similar thing happened to me. Except there were two lines, pre-order and no pre-order. Pre-order had like 50 people in line, non-preorders had a few hundred. The best buy rep told me that the pre-order line would go in at midnight first, followed by the no pre-order line.

When it got to midnight, they let 15 in from the no-preorder line and 5 from the preorder line. They repeated this ever 20-30 minutes. I was ~20 in line in the pre-order line, and I didn't leave best buy until 1:20. Close to half of the no pre-order line had gone in by the time I was let into the store.

The worst part was, they apoligized for the pre-order line taking so long and that they were doing everything they could. But when I got inside, the pre-orders/non-preorders were just being funneled into the same line!

Last time I pre order from them.

I walked into Best Buy during lunch and got a switch. No pre-order needed. I do feel bad for you guys though. I went through this when the 360 launched with GameStop.

Amazon sucks. I only had it sent to my work because they said it would be delivered today. If it was gonna be tomorrow or Sunday I would have had it sent to my house instead.

Yuuuup, same here. Should have had it shipped to a locker near my house.

Had the same problem with Best Buy on the PS4 launch, so annoying.
