You're the one using the actual meaning of the word, which I assumed you knew before asking your original question.
Of course they're "recycling" it to the marketplace. For their proverbial "cash profitz". But unlike Gamestop they have no interest in building a resale/pawnshop marketplace. It's just a way for them to offload extra stock/repairs stock. Which is why their cashback is low and why you can't stumble into them at the front of an Apple Store.
EDIT: I'm pretty sure FS/BB do the same thing at times. I remember seeing FS ads every year to "bring in your old device!" for what usually amounted to $25-50 back, depending on what it was.

If you camp out at an Apple store you will almost certainly be treated to coffee, water, bagels, donuts and energy bars. I think some even do T-Shirts?

I hate that apple products don't come with plugs as I lost my other so only have one for a few devices now, time for me to stop being tight I suppose

It comes with it's own plug like all iPhone's Macs, iPad's etc do.
USB cable and a plug adaptor for the cable

iPads come with AC adapter and USB cable for charging from the wall or some USB 2.0 source.
Have since the first iPad.

Kinda clear based on the other posts, but magsafe Macs typically come with a single cable/AC adapter solution that doesn't have a USB port on it. The iPad, on the other hand, has a 10w version of the same adapter the iPhone gets.

I wonder how many charges my USB battery will get on the new ipad, if it will even get one full charge. It charged my iPad 1 1.5 times.
And the "your Mom's basement" thing is odd. He seems to have a serious axe to grind about... something.
Can someone pretty please answer this for me: I have an engraved 16GB ipad coming in tomorrow. Can I replace this for a 32GB at the apple store, and would it even be reasonable to assume they would have replacement stock?

Of course. I assumed he meant streaming movies at a higher resolution. I'm not sure how Netflix does this, so he may have a point (though nothing will be over 1080p anyway so it's kinda moot). And it's not like you HAVE to stream movies using 4G, you can still use wifi, or you know NOT stream HD movies on the go.
Just a terrible, terrible article all around.
You could theoretically serve up higher res assets for an iPad3. I highly doubt many websites are going to do that though, most default to the mobile version on an iPad now.
