The next Mario title that is coming soon is a remaster of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Feels like a rumor bait, especially after Metroid Prime people will be more willing to believe we will have more GameCube era games remastered. I do hope it's true though as I always wanted to play this game on Switch
 
Sounds like bullshit to me. People want attention and rumors having to do with internet darlings like bloodborne or ttyd are a good way to get it
 
I'd be all over this, legitimately one of the GOATs

That being said, it kinda doesn't need a remaster because the gameplay and graphics hold up just as well today as they did on release. Only real argument to make is availability on modern hardware, which is valid, but it kinda reminds me of Wind Waker being a game that will never truly "look" outdated compared to its contemporaries.

Hopefully it's a proper new 3D Mario.

I don't get how Nintendo can't have a big new Mario out soon to take advantage of the movie excitement.

The timing would be reasonable too. It has been 6 years since Odyssey
 
Make the paper glossier, I guess?

The best case scenario is that more kids buy it and enjoy it, it sells well, and future entries stick closer to that style. It's still an amazing game that is much better than the recent entry.
 
A perfect ten and the best Paper Mario game. Would buy it in an instant.

But I'm not believing Reddit user PikminSnezkov on this one.
 
I don't really play Nintendo games that much anymore to be fair. The last game I really enjoyed was Animal Crossing New Horizons, Super Mario Odyssey and Smash Ultimate.

I will say though that A Thosaund Year Door was a phenomenal game when I played it. Well deserving of a remaster, but to be honest I rather have a new mainline Mario game instead. I am gonna assume this is just a side project. Nintendo knows how easy money is with Remasters lol.

Me thinks they will save games this big for the launch year of switch 2. Those remastered games selling like new games don't make nintendo rush out new stuff :).
