I don't see how it can be considered a choke since the Eagles are expected to lose without Terrell Owens. I think ATL will represent the NFC, and win.

There is a difference between choking and being decimated by injuries like the eagles have been the past 2 years. If your looking for a choker Bret Farve is your man. It would not surprise me if he found a way to lose.

To be honest, I think the Eagles still have a good chance of going to the Super Bowl even without TO. The NFC is very bad this year and there is no one super team this year, it was the Eagles but without TO now they are even beatable. I guess time will tell.

Well I predicted the fall of the Vikings, I didn't expect everyone else to fall with them though.

All the Panthers lovers can shu the hell up now. Even though I don't dislike them I hated how everyone got on their bandwagon at the end of the season.

I completely disagree with this statement. There were 3-4 super teams this year. Pats, Steelers, Eagles, and the Colts (debatable) were all very powerful this year.

Unless you are saying that by there being 3+ super teams, they cancel eachother out....Then perhaps I would agree.

However, I believe you are saying that the Eagles were the one super team before T.O.'s injury. If you're saying that....well then....

Steelers 27
Eagles 3

Total Yards: 420 - 113

I was there and it was a complete domination, and the Eagles didn't have the injuries that the Pats had a week earlier. I know I am playing homer here but the point is the Eagles never were the NFL's elite team. They were a very good team, but a team that was helped by a weak conference and a team that could be completely neutralized if T.O. was taken out of a game.

To me the Eagles/Steelers game really exploited the Eagles' weaknesses. You could just see that they were lost out there when T.O. disappeared. They have to be regarded as an underdog in the NFC with everyone keying in on Westbrook., I don't care how much the D has improved.

Anyway, On to the picks

Saturday, January 8
4:30 p.m. on ABC -- St. Louis (8-8) at Seattle (9-7)

Despite the momentum factor picked up by both teams in week 17, both teams are really limping into the playoffs...Holm vs. Martz. Hasselbeck vs. Bulger. I have no idea. I go with the Rams because both defenses are made of cheese so I'll not bet on Hasselbeck in a high scoring game.

8 p.m. on ABC -- N.Y. Jets (10-6) at San Diego (12-4)

Just because. Just because it wouldn't make sense. Plus, Brees and L.T. don't have playoff experience. Martin and Pennington have experience. Prime time game on a national stage with a lot of pressure on NY to win? J-E-T-S!

Sunday, January 9
1 p.m. on CBS -- Denver (10-6) at Indianapolis (12-4)
The Wild-card Blowout Game (tm)

4:30 p.m. on FOX -- Minnesota (8-8) at Green Bay (10-6)
Ok. I would love the Pack to win this but. You aren't supposed to beat a team 3 times in one year. Especially after 2 last second field goals. This one will be close. Can the Pack pull out 3 from the Viks in one year? Better yet, can Farve?

Hardly a surprise, considering the chemistry between he and Roethlisberger, as well as his notable improvement in effort and attitude on and off the field.

We have to resign Burress just to keep him away from the Ravens. He gives us that deep threat that makes running the ball so much easier and that will be important for us next year when we try to repeat.

Denver has a chance to win i think as long as jake plays his best (wishful thinking).....although thier defense is a lot better this year than it was last its hard not to remember what happened to them last year, im the type of fan where after that game i was turned off of football for quite some time and i hope history does not repeat itself. If denver could just avoid turning the ball over they could be a superbowl contender, they rank first in the nfl in every differential category(i.e. yards gained to yards allowed, time of possesion, ect.) except for turnover margin in which they are like 28th or something at -10 (pathetic). I think that green bay will make short work of the vikings unless moss puts it upon himself to carry the entire team on his back even more than he already does(although i doubt that would still be enough). The Vikings were stupid for ever firing Denny Green and hiring that dolt of a brute Mike Tice. San Deigo should beat the Jets as they just always find a way to win somehow, but neither team ever shows anything trully great. I havnt payed much attention to either the Rams or the Seahawks this year as both teams play in a terrible conference and thier performances change so drastically from week to week. Neither team has a chance of getting past the divisional round and this is really a consolation worst in the playoffs game. I really was dissapointed that the Saints couldnt make that push into the playoffs finally this year. You have to feel for the town of New Orleans and what they have went through over the years, since the baghead era, the extra point miss of last and countless december collapses, its almost seemingly destined that they miss the playoffs every year. Another team i had some remorse for was Jacksonville (although them not making it was good because Denver got in) , they beat so many formidable opponents and still fell short. Off the top of my head i can remember them beating the colts, broncos, and chargers, all of which are in the playoffs.

Yall may have to resign him to keep him away from us, there have been rumors that he's interested in coming to Atlanta. We will give yall Peerless. He might be ok opposite Ward.

Oh yeah keep the picks against the Falcons coming. ;)

Wouldn't suprise me if Burress leaves after this season. As much as I've grown to love Big Plex, he seems like he wants a big market team. I could definitely see him wanting to go to ATL.

If he keeps the heat off of our running backs and helps us get to Jacksonville, he can retire and go to Alaska for all I care.

Seattle had the Rams locked away before that AWFUL choke. They won't choke this time. Both teams suck, but the Holmgren will unfortunately save a bit of face by winning one play-off game

8 p.m. on ABC -- N.Y. Jets (10-6) at San Diego (12-4)
one thing I learned in the last 4 weeks of the season: Chargers are better than most people think, and the Jets are worse than most people think

Sunday, January 9
1 p.m. on CBS -- Denver (10-6) at Indianapolis (12-4)
Please. Indy by 20

4:30 p.m. on FOX -- Minnesota (8-8) at Green Bay (10-6)
At least, I hope so. I don't want any more Favre ass kissing than this one game. Both games have been 34-31 shoot-outs this year, so why not let the Vikes win one? Unless Moss leaves the field in the 2nd quarter because they're losing.

entire play-offs:

St. Louis at Seattle
N.Y. Jets at San Diego

Denver at Indianapolis
Minnesota at Green Bay

DIVS

San Diego at Pittsburgh
Minnesota at Atlanta

Seattle at Philadelphia
Indianapolis at New England

CONFS

San Diego at Indianapolis

Super Bowl XXXIX

picked the colts in preseason, so i gotta stick with it. also, i honestly think the vikes are the one team in the NFC that can beat Atlanta outside of the Eagles. They're used to playing on turf, and no D in the NFL can avoid giving up some huge plays on turf to Moss. All they'd have to do is stop Vick from single-handedly beating them. Contain Vick and they can totally beat the Falcons. But that's if they make it out of the first round :lol
As much as I want to see the Eagles lose, I just don't see it happening.

In the AFC I think the Pats have lost their aura of invincibility. If it comes down to NE and Pitt, I'm taking Pitt all the way. Only I think neither team will make it to the championship game. Like I said, everyone is sleeping on San Diego. I've seen 8 or 9 of their games this year, and they're a team to be reckoned with. Their defense has been overperforming all year, and if they can keep it up through the play-offs, watch out.
As far as Indy and NE, where everyone will talk all week about Belicheck's schemes and how Peyton struggles there...last year in the AFC title game Manning threw 4 interceptions that game, and they only lost by 10 points.
He won't throw 4 picks this year.

Please. When the Bills dominated the Patroits it meant nothing in the game later that year. You cant point to one bad game and say this is the reason we cannot win. You guys shouldve lost that game to the giants, same with jacksonville and cincinnati. You lost to the Ravens, a team that isnt in the playoffs. Guess that means you were exposed. Lets just pick out all your great performances and ignore them. Are you bitter cause the Eagles were higher in the powerrankings for so long? Btw incase you forgot Philly was in the championship game last year without Westbrook and TO and our entire starting defensive line, and simonau at mlb against a team much better than any we will face this year. The highest ranked defense we could face is like 15th, the rest are 20 and below. If you think the eagles should be viewed as the underdog you know nothing about football.

Just out of curiousity, is there anyone out there you think Pittsburgh can beat? You seem to believe Indy and San Diego will have no problem winning at Heinz field, even though no one else seems to be able to do it.

With that said, I don't see Indy or San Diego winning on the road this year. Anything can happen in one game, but that bye week is going to be too much to overcome imho. Pittsburgh will have their entire team almost 100% and will have had that extra week to gameplan. Even without New England being healthy, that extra week of preperation and having everyone being closer to 100% will be too much for the Colts. No one is going to come back against Pitt or NE on the road with their defense and running games.

Matlock good news if you hate the Colts, Konex is a huge fan of them. Sorry Eminem, but Konex > Peyton. :D

I hate to say it but anyone who thinks pittsburg is going to lose any game easily is foolish...They have soo many weapons and a stronghold of a defense. Really it doesnt matter who plays quarterback for them they can get it done. Of course it is the NFL playoffs and absolutely anything can happen. I mean the Falcons beat the 15-1 vikings in 98' with chris chandler as quaterback lol (although anderson missed a gimme to allow it).

Police Say Man Scammed NFL Players Out Of Money

Then, police said, Sills called Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, allegedly posing as Washington Redskins player James Thrash on Dec. 22. Police said Sills asked McNabb to wire $600 to Elkridge and McNabb agreed. Sills posed as Thrash to pick up the money and signed Thrash's name on a transaction receipt.

ESPN decided what??? The only person who even picked the rams over the squawks was golic. everyone else picked seattle.

Anyway our defense is now ranked 17th, that's below 20 fyi.

I hope we play you guys, if we manage to beat seattle. Bruce and holt are tough recievers, they make their living going over the middle. You're not dealing with pussy recievers like laverneus coles.

If pennington had any arm strength, he could have made some plays downfield on us. But how bout that pass rush? Even surprised the fuck out of me, lol.

heres something i thought of as i was watching football on Sunday, and again as i watch the Sugar Bowl tonight...why don't the networks show the game from a "behind the QB's back" angle when they televise them? Like in the Madden videogame? Wouldn't it be better, you'd get a better view of the field and the WRs running routes and shit.

soulja224466 said:
Didn't the visa sky cam do that? Or are you talking about showing that angle as the play actually develops?

yeah, just showing that angle the whole game, though more zoomed in than most of those "sky cams" do it.
