I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm pulling for a Rams/Vikings NFC title game.

It's not just the humourous idea of two 8-8 teams playing off for a Superbowl berth, but it would be one hell of a shootout.

Vikes/Rams v Colts in the Superbowl would be....super!

Man, they are in a big tizzy about Randy. Man, talk about making a big deal about nothing.

If you really want to talk about a horror, talk about how Green Bay started fighting amongst themselves on the sidelines. It's the fuckin playoffs and they lost it on the sideline.

Or talk about the shameless plugging for this fuckin TV show. Fuck 24. I don't give a shit and stop shoving it in my face.

Damn, Al Harris is garbage.

He sure is. He had that fancy interception return for a TD last year in the playoffs, but the guy gets fucking burned a minimum of two times a game, and all I see is a 31 about 10 yards behind some dude streaking down the sidelines.

A Vikes-Colts Superbowl would be a blast, I guess. Though now I'm pulling for a Randy Moss blown left knee more than anything else. ;)

You just know all those stupid sports commentators will be talking about moss's moon all week, just like the post game commentators did. Ill admit the move was juvenile, but it still was pretty funny. I mean football is just a game, so i really dont see the harm in having a little fun.

I really get the feeling that all those commentators are just faking their outrage for every little incident so they have something to talk about.

Exactly. They act like its a fucking primary race for the president of the United Staes. It's damn football game.

thats EXACTLY what it is. We live in the age of 2 hour pre-game shows, hour long post game shows, fuckin 6 hours of Sports talk radio every day. They have to talk about SOMETHING, when in reality, there really isn't that much to discuss. It was a football game. one team won, one team lost. Now fill the other 58 minutes.

This year more than ever, it seems. TO had some outrageous incidents (him ripping down the fan's sign in Cleveland was my favorite) but nothing tremendously over the top. But let them tell it and he's a demon/childish/etc.

BTW, let me watch this damn show to see what the hype is about.

Fuckin Fox. You finally got into my head.

rams/falcons
vikings/eagles

two rematches from week 2, should be great games.

I think we can shut down the falcons offense, if we sell out on the run like we did against seattle. shaun alexander only had 15 rushes for 40 yards. Thats like a 900% improvement over the past two games. And unlike hasselbeck, vick is not going to beat you with his arm. Leonard little is the one d-lineman who could actually stay with vick, so hopefully we will be able to keep him in check. If martz and marmie scheme it better this time, we'll have a shot on defense.

Just hope the rams offense can limit turnovers and sacks, and we'll have a good chance to win this thing.

and also, from ESPN's frontpage poll:

Who wins?

Colts - 59.8%

Pats - 40.1%

the public actually favors the colts? i'm a bit surprised

That too kicked ass.
:lol :lol

TO has been a character this year. I mean do they want everyone to be like a robot. The game would be booring is everyone was clean cut as say, Peyton Manning. Now don't get me wrong I can respect Peyton for being a kick ass QB as well as a class act. BUT do I want every single player in the NFL to be just like that, NO! Lets have some variety. Everyone is not the same and football games are not dinners with the Queen of England.

I am pretty sure most fans (including myself) picked Indy to win last year. It is easy to get lulled into picking them when they destroy a team like Denver.

Holy crap!! What an awesome weekend of football.

Sucks that the Chargers couldn't pull that game off last night. Those last 17 seconds were amazing. It set such a stage for something we would all be hearing about for years to come. Only to have that FG go a bit right. Ugh. Poor kid (the kicker).

And then today to have the Vikings eat the Packers up. :D Good times.

yeah, i could see that. i just assumed most people wouldn't fall into the same trap twice. as someone else said earlier in this thread, this is almost the exact same situation as last year.
NE's banged up secondary does help though. if it's a clear day without wind or snow, i think the pats can lose quite easily. but who ever knows with belicheck

As always if you want to win on the road you need to get off to a great start. If the Colts fall behind they will lose.

uh mike vick is going to bitch the fuck out of that weak ass rams D. the rams wouldn't even be in round 2 if professional receivers for the seachickens could simply do their job and catch footballs.

plan on the rams getting raped against atlanta, just like they did in the regular season. go falcons! (never thought i'd say that!)

I don't think I'll ever forget Hassleback pounding the ground like that when Engram dropped the pass. Poor guy would have the highest QB rating ever if Jackson and Engram didn't drop anything. :lol

the rams and falcons were tied through 3 quarters. dumb fucking mental mistakes cost us, not to mention vick running wild. if marmie actually schemes the game towards limiting vicks running game, we got a shot. Last game it was like he never even accounted for vick taking off.

All you have to do is look at tape of the cardinals-falcons game to get a good idea on how to do it. 5 man lines, don't give vick any lanes to run through. He runs in circles like a scared chicken if you get pressure on him and he has no lanes to run through. Did you see how seattle fucked him up last week? And they have a worse pass rush and defense in general than us.

yes, you can look at vicks performance against teams like the cardinals, niners, etc. and say "wow he had no rushing yards to speak of, we can do it!" but then you take a look at the rams horrible defensive personnel and you realize why you CANT do it. do you honestly think the rams weren't trying to stop vick from running the first time out? give me a break dude.

yeah you guys were tied @ the end of the 3, but the game was never in question because vick could literally get whatever yards he wanted whenever. your LB's aren't fast enough or smart enough to stay with him, and while i'll agree leonard little is a fast end, the one and ONLY end in this league that can stay with vick is sitting in tampa watching the playoffs.

i do think the falcons defense is overrated, and the rams had mora's # against us when he had a superior defense (in san fran), so anything is possible. i just dont think the rams have a shot unless mike vick doesn't play or they pull a rabbit out of their ass and somehow contain his running while also keeping coverage downfield

p.s. two 8-8 teams in the playoffs in the 2nd round is absolute bullshit. can we get a bcs style ranking system for the NFL and do away with these god awful playoffs? painful to watch really ;)

Actually, by sack numbers, they have the best pass rush in the league. Five man lines is a great idea tho.

LOL. Come on Soulja. Worse pass rush and defense? BTW, what's Bulger going to do when he gets pressure put on him. Also, our defense is a totally different animal at home, especially the front four. You should know that

Cliff notes of todays Fox broadcast

1. Randy moss pretended too moon the crowd.
2. He wipes his ass agianst goal post.
3. Fox peoples get mad.

Ok joke time: Why did the Packers have too close down Lambeau Field?

I think you and wellington read my post wrong. I said seattles pass rush and defense was worse than ours. And seattle put a whoopin on vick for 2 quarters. So if they can do it, i think we can too. We have faster more athletic lineman and backers than seattle. So if we come with the right scheme, we got a shot.

Our linebackers aren't fast enough? Speed is the last problem our linebackers have. And i disagree, little could chase vick all over the field any day. He fucking chased randle el down in a game in pittsburgh last year. I've never seen anything like it.

and yes, marmie devised a horrible gameplan the first time against atlanta. His schemes obviously never accounted for vicks running ability. Do you remember at the beginning of the season, all that hype about vick becoming a pocket passer in the WCO? Marmie obviously bought into it when creating the gameplan. You should know most of all, during the SF-atl game, vick never tried to take off. He obviously scrapped the whole pocket passer idea after that game imo.

Well, the primetime hosts are agast at the Moss incident. Whatever, i just dont get it. The best part about playing a game is taunting or making fun of, all in good fun of course, the opposinig player or team.

I mean i play a ton of fooz ball, and one of the best parts about the game is making fun of the person you are playing against. I mean its hilarious to rub in a great play that you made or a horrible play that they made, and the other guy does the same thing to you. But its all in good fun, and i think thats exactly what Randy Moss was doing. It was just in good fun.

I really got sick of listening to sports commentators this year. I think i realized that they dont say anything important to say. Their picks have as much chance of being right as mine, and the rest of the crap is filled with them blowing small incidents out of proportion.

on a wet and soggy field he chased down randle el, and it wasn't like randel el was going full speed. you will be playing ON TURF against a man who is going to have a 5-10 yard head start, you aren't going to catch him, whether you are leonard little or not. your LB's aren't even the fastest in your DIVISION. infact, when all teams are healthy, the rams have the worst group of linebackers in our division.

dude, this is what you don't get. you are saying his schemes never accounted for vick... are you out of your mind? you think he didn't scheme to stop vick? he COULDN'T stop him. not in the first half, and not in the second. and vick DID try to run against us in week 1, but he couldn't. we spied jamie winborn and julian peterson on him ALL GAME LONG. look @ his stats:

Vick - 6 rushes, 10 yards, sacked 4 times

now against the rams:

Vick - 12 rushes, 109 yards, sacked 1 time

obviously i am a biased fan, i love the niners and think we have the best group of linebackers in the nfc, but i can say without bias that the rams cannot and will not stop mike vick, whether they scheme to stop him from running or not it doesn't matter. what they have to do is bait him into some throws that he thinks he can make but can't. i don't think the rams have the talent in the secondary or @ the linebacker spot to do that. for gods sake matt hasselbeck had 2 rushes for 26 yards on you guys. of course i have been wrong before, but i will be shocked if the rams in any way shape or form contain mike vick

The public was firmly aboard last year too. Lets see what they are made of when they play outside at New England next week. They definitely have the talent to do it, but lets see if they have the heart to pull it off in NE.

I never implied we had the best linebackers, even in our division lol. I know that's far from the truth. I said they were FAST. We have FAST and ATHLETIC linebackers, doesn't make them very good, but they are quick. Fast and undersized, that's lovie smiths legacy, and that's the mold our defenders fit into.

I never implied that we could STOP vick, but if you saw that game, the scheme was shit. With a better scheme, we can CONTAIN vick. That's all we need imo. If the rams defense finds the balls to come up and contain the run, like we did vs seattle, we will win.

Tinoisamoa is fast enough to spy vick, lets see what wrinkles marmie will throw in. I believe we can beat atlanta.

I'll be taking the Colts over New England. The non-presense of Ty Law gives me confidence in this tip. Plus I want to see THAT Colts offense vs THAT Steelers defense.

FrenchMovieTheme said:
i believe you can beat atl too, i just dont think you will.

jim mora jr loves to blitz

jim mora has given us problems the past few seasons, but......

i have my finger on the pulse of this team, i follow them VERY closely. This second half of the season, bulger has been eating blitzes for lunch. Bulger has been playing lights out the second half of the season. This offense AND defense are playing at a much higher level than they were in week 2.

I just have a good feeling about this team right now. We seem to be peaking at the right time.

bulger isn't who you have to worry about playing well, it's your terrible defense. the are giving offenses like the jets, bills, panthers, cardinals, etc. 25+ pts per game, which means their offense is required to basically play mistake-free football just to stay in the game. they did beat the seachickens, but take away that tipped Int and the dropped TD and the rams may not even be sitting here. you do have to be a little lucky in the playoffs, but i dont see the rams lucking out against the falcons that way

Who was it on the Fox broadcast of the Pack-Vikes game that went ape when Moss did his endzone "dance"? I mean wow... a little overboard? It was pretty dumb, but if you want embarassing and disgusting... just look at the Packers pathetic performance...

Sherman's gotta go. 4-5 at home SUCKS no matter how you slice it. I know he won't be gone, which is why this team will continue it's decent into the basement of the NFL...

Maybe that punter they drafted will turn out to be good next year afterall. God knows he could of made a huge difference today...............
