The NX Prediction / BSpeculation / Fanxiety Thread

I wonder what impression the NX games will leave at the reveal when they wont look that different from wiiu (because specs) games. That only happened before from Gamecube to Wii, but Wii was all about the gimmick.

if they go the hybrid route.....does that mean nintendo will have to break 1 game from series per hardware gen rule?

Like Usually with having both a handheld and console, they got away with saying we're going to release mario kart once per console, ( except thats kind of a lie, every gen they usually release 2 mario karts, one for console and one for handheld. )

Now that they're going hybrid, and there's only 1 nintendo hardware out in the market, What shall the mario kart team do after they're done with say Mario kart 9, they can do DLC's but whats after that? usually after the console version is done, they're already working on the handheld sequel* vice versa.

Nintendo likes to say we release mario kart once per hardware platform but they don't, they release 2 mario karts per every gen. 1 for handheld and 1 for console.

what i'm saying is NX will get Mario kart 9 + Mario Kart 10. 2 mario kart games on 1 device yay....cause what else will the MK team be working on after finished with 9+ dlc. ....and sit out the rest of the gen? i think not.

they could be working on newer things maybe F-zero ;d ;d ;d

If it has the rumored specs, they will look way better than WiiU games.
Also as we were saying before, some games (metroid, fzero, wave race..) were never on WiiU, meaning the upgrade will be major in those cases.

I dunno if it has already been posted, but here's an interesting tweet from a famous french game show host on TV: https://twitter.com/JulienTellouck/status/788276693899378688
How in the world can a hybrid cost that much and be intended FOR the casual market?

If that price is true it has to be some kind of bundle that's 349.

The assumptions are once Mario Kart 9 team is done with MK9 then they could make DLC or they can make brand new games that's not Mario Kart since they won't have to worry about making another one.

Can anyone really prove that NX is real? Can anyone claim to have seen one?

Maybe the NX is just a metaphor and exists only in our hearts.

There have been many rumors with this kind of price above 300$...

If it was true, i mean... That Nintendo, who knows (they told us already) WiiU AND 3DS were too expensive, would think NX at 350$ is ok.. That would mean they believe the value it offers is really something to justify it.

I hope they don't think being an hybrid is enough to do so. Cause if the thinking is "well they had to buy two consoles now they have one for 350" it's dead and buried already. People will think 350$ is too much for a 2017 console with those capacities and even more too much for any portable

I skipped the Wii U after the disappointement that the previous console was, but I am pretty excited about the prospect of a hybrid system. That would be a great complement to the more traditional systems (PS4, Xbox One and PC). I hope that Nintendo is met with success for their next endeavour, because I would hate seeing them leave this space.

The NX is the oasis in the desert that turns out to be a mirage. You will chase it forever until you are shriveled and dead. It will always be just out of reach, just a little bit further.

Fine with the price so long as it delivers a worthy experience. I'm not one of these people hoping Nintendo go the secondary console route for my own convenience, and I fully believe Nintendo can directly compete with Sony and Microsoft if they do shit right from the beginning. As I've said before, because of the Wii U, a lot of people are underestimating Nintendo's influence.

the NX is the afternoon breeze
the first beam of sunglight in the morning
the sigh of a baby
the flicker of a candle
slumbering kittens
the ring of bells
the smile of a child
the mist from a lake
the last breath of the dying
that is the NX
the NX is everything
the NX is nothing

Twitter is literally a grain of salt. Just because more and more "insiders" come out to agree with other "insiders" doesn't create a credible rumour. It creates a salt mine.

1) What the fuck is it

2) Name and Branding

3) Are the controllers detachable. How does it work, and are there other options and configurations we can use with it. I.e., detach one model that has circle pads that are better for on the go, and replace them with larger sticks like the WiiU for home gaming sessions

4) Online functions, user interface; what is it going to be like playing on this thing. Is there a suplimental computing device. Playing at home vs on the go, how does this work.

5) Launch window games.

We don't know if it's the 3DS game, nor that that game is made by Artoon, nor that that the game is trash.

That's what Miyamoto indicated at E3, yeah. That we'd see it next E3 at the earliest.

Even though Artoons games aren't that good you can't really call Pikmin 3DS "trash" because it does look good.

And as far as Miyamoto goes he's not going to tell people to expect 3D Mario at the NX reveal.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but if Nintendo wants to start the NX off with a bang then I fully expect Mario and Retros game at the reveal.

1. It's ostensible that the 3DS Pikmin project was what Miyamoto was referring to. The timing, precious patents, and nature of the struggling IP all make sense.

2. I doubt Arzest is involved since they were busy working on 2 other Nintendo games in 2016. But anything is possible.

3. I think it looks fun.

I completely agree. And as you said it seems totally antithetical to what Nintendo has said and also to that MCV surprisingly low price rumor.

Oh, don't get me wrong-- you've wisely pointed this out before and I agreed at the time that it may very well be the noted Miyamoto project. Just meant we don't know for a fact yet that this is what he was referring to. I agree it's not necessarily likely Arzest is developing. And, I think it looks very, very fun from what little we've seen.

They could give those teams two series - one to play safe and one to get experimental with.

For example, Mario Kart team could have Mario Kart as their "safe" franchise, while using Diddy Kong Racing or a Smash Kart as their experimental series.

Yeah I think the hybrid thing will allow Nintendo to experiment a lot more. Should be interesting.

You make a good point. Miyamoto may have been feinting on that one. If they have to save something new for E3, I imagine as others have said Retro's game is a likely candidate. But yeah, depending on the size of splash they want to make, could be we see both at the NX ganes unveiling.

I never liked the idea of "Super Smash Kart". It's cool to have some cameos like Link and Isabelle in MK8, but other than that, just leave the company wide crossover stuff to Smash Bros.

Maybe you could let them do a new F-Zero, or maybe a not racing IP or something.
