I don't think so. They are just very, very secretive. They have to get this right after the colossal failure of the Wii U.
Is now most likely that NX will be revealed before its release.
So when is this speculated announcement supposed to take place? It's already Tuesday and all

Bold prediction: Nintendo will actually announce an NX successor within the next 72 months. If not then they'll announce a PS4 Pro-esque upgrade.

Also probably quite pissed about some of the leaks in recent times, like the one that had release dates and marketing budgets for all to see. For a company like Nintendo, that must have burned.

We'll probably never find out, but regardless of whether or not these rumors are true I'm curious as to what their origin is. Did these people get invites to a Nintendo press event already? Did someone who works at NoA hint something to someone and then that was shared/spread by a bunch of industry insiders?

I have a hard time believing the announcement will be tomorrow morning, which is around 6-8 hours from now.
The Pokémon demo releases in 8 hours in North America. Nintendo won't want that conflict. The earliest we'll get NX announcement will be Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning is a more likely candidate.

That's six years. Not a very bold prediction at all.
It could be since NX generation could go as long as gen 7. I don't think it will though.
This has never made sense to me. What are you basing this off of? Why would they announce it in the evening at the end of the daily news cycle? Why would them releasing a demo have any bearing on whether they are going to reveal a console or at least the date for which they will formally announce it?
Wouldn't be much of a conflict if they tied the demo into the direct/announcement/whatever. Honestly, might be the only way some people even realize there's a Pokemon demo at all.

Same, I camt wait to see some of this stuff. I know its probably just kimishima blowing steam but he said, "The hardware, the software lineup, all of it is something I'd like to play for the first time myself." That got me hyped!

What Zelda video? Aside from the fact that they have uploaded multiple news videos today, they already released their 2 hour Zelda analysis.
Ah, I see. However, it does seem to be that multiple sources are coming up on this, so it seems weird for them to just not acknowledge it wholesale.
I'm actually the opposite. I'm fully expecting the reveal games to be underwhelming other than Zelda, and Breath of the Wild looks cool but it might not necessarily be my cup of tea since I hate open worlds and I got my fill of pre-release gameplay at E3 anyways. I just want to see what crazy Nintendo console I'll be using for the next few years. Moreover I'm interested to see how marketable I think the thing will be, since I think that's what lies at the crux of Nintendo's future success and relevance in the game industry.

No, because people have only said this week. I can't be certain that it's happening at 10am Eastern Time in US on Tuesday.
Edit: And then you have the NX "leakers" suddenly joining in after Emily Rogers said something is happening this week, so they're claiming they got leaks that it's happening this week, no specific day. lol
Emily has implied that Tuesdays are great for Nintendo announcements, so I suppose we'll see tomorrow.
I did say in one post before that went along the lines of, in Japan's Time Zone:
18th October is NX announcement, 20th October is NX reveal, 21st October is
everyone saying, "Reveal the NX already!"
Of course, the reveal could be 21st because of the 5th anniversary of Nintendo Direct, maybe, maybe not.
