Emily Update!

Emily Rogers
Emily Rogers‏ @ArcadeGirl64
There is news this week. I just think everyone's behavior toward me is weird. That's all.

Weird? Is she serious?
I think she was saying that people shouldn't take her being right about this week as the only evidence that she has info right. I thought that was obvious enough

It is really baffling. From what I seen she hasn't really said much of anything new on NX for a while, so there was really no reason to bring this up if she wasn't completely confident.

Man, you replied to my deadly assault on the English language pre-edit. :(

I really need to start proofreading my posts before I hit "Submit Reply" lol

NX has all been an elaborate hoax by Nintendo to find and plug leaks.

Emily's source was the last piece of the puzzle. Kimishima's killbots are closing in as we speak.

For real. The exact reveal date being hard to nail down but the info on the device being fairly accurate is a very realistic outcome, tbh. People are
blood
thirsty.

We all need to learn to be patient and calmly react to new information. Think about context before you post and cry and yell delay. And I don't mean patient like 1.5 years of NX silence patient, I mean take 1-2 minutes to read and think about what is being said.

It's not even that her tweet upsets me. It's just crazy that there's still so much back and forth on NX this close to some sort of info. Not to mention the past two (three?) months of "okay, NX Direct this week for sure"

Ha, I feel your pain. I've posted some pure unintelligible garbage before because I didn't bother to proofread a word of what I wrote.

I imagine Emily as a talented neophyte wizard whose divination attempts, while admirable and capable, sometimes stray into the darker realms that over-extending often lead to in her school of magic.

Also, she had to see this coming when making her profile public. Not defending people getting weird on her at all, but she must have known it would happen.

Each of these operating input devices (detachable controllers) has memory storage (like Amiibo do). I am reading in the patent that they can be used to store access control information. For example if you have a unit that is used to a GTA-like game, you can prevent its use somehow. Very strange indeed.

It can also store calibration and settings information. For example you can cater the operation of the unit via user settings and it will remember it.

So there will be an announcement this week that the full reveal is next week? Got it.

This makes the most sense. Which is why it won't happen. Instead we will learn that NX was actually inside of us all along.

I mean, if she hits on everything about NX except the announcement week then it's a good point

not sure why she cares enough to tweet about it though
Maybe because now everyone is hitting refresh to see if any news pops up. It really is starting to become almost laughable at this point after all this time trying to get any concrete information.

I know all that, both their comparison between it and the PS4/XB1 as well as that it runs on a Tegra. I'm not arguing that at all.

But that doesn't mean Nintendo is caught in yet another mountainous power gap between itself and the competitors. Wii U was something slightly more powerful than a 360/PS3 versus the next gen. Wii was a Gamecube with a remote and overclocked RAM versus the 360/PS3. Is something noted to possibly be an inch or two short of an Xbox One really the same problem?

Also, noting base PS4 should be a standard for developers to work on isn't the same thing as them actually believing that and working off of it. It's not like Pro is adding anything that much more performance-wise to what we've seen so far from the games making use of it.

In the end, if what they provide falls short of the ps4 standard of power, that puts nintendo right back into the same conditions that have previously resulted in lackluster 3rd party support.

developers will already have to manage ps4/pro games to make sure they run fine on the base ps4. What happens when they have to take that a step further to make sure this thing can run on an NX?

Microsoft seem to be positioning the scorpio as something brand new. They wont need to cater to xbox one consumers the way sony will have to. Before long, the NX will be below what the industry will likely consider the lower common denominator (base ps4). Not a healthy position to be in for a Nintendo system trying to provide console like experiences.

We pretty much know it is going to attempt to be considered one. But the devil is in the details with this sort of thing.

I don't want to be pedantic, but we know nothing. Everything that has been said so far has been from (publicly) unverified sources. We think it will be a hybrid, but we won't know till it actually gets announced.

THE TRAIN IS BACK ON TRACK!!!

Yeah sure, until...

Yeah, it's what you get when you reach the spotlight, everyone eyes are on Emily not because some misogynist conspirancy but because she seems to be one of the few persons out there that knows Nintendo stuff, also there's no deny she loves teasing stuff.

It reads like she's hedging. But either way I want to again state that I really don't feel the need to hyperbolically praise or condemn her. She's made her claims. All that's left is to see how this all plays out.

I see your point. She seems a lot more confident than usual maybe that is the reason why I'm more inclined to trust her at the moment.
