The NX Prediction / BSpeculation / Fanxiety Thread

I don't know how someone can read this and assume it means the nx reveal is delayed.

I mean I guess I can. But it would probably be best if people didn't fucking meltdown over assumed backtracking by micro-analyzing every tweet.

Investors meeting next week. Expect info either this week or next.

If we seriously go to the meeting with no news and we get a similar "We have nothing to say about NX at this time" statement from Kimishima we got earlier this year. Then fine, people can let the meltdowns commence but we aren't there yet and people need to stop being so ridiculous.

moderately interesting, more interesting than the rest of the nonsense in the last few pages at least.

I don't see how it's interesting at all? I feel like people have posted social media posts from Nintendo employees being somewhere other than they work several times in the last few months. It doesn't really mean anything. People take trips across the US all the time. Granted this time it might mean something but still.

Can we get some Simpsons memes please?

How has this thing not leaked yet?

That would probably close the thread, buddy.

Yeah, no Simpsons memes plz.

You make a good point about the leaks. Sure we have had some (the validity of which remain to be seen) but surprisingly little concrete leaks that really nail down the hardware. I think there is still, at the least, one big NX secret we won't know till the reveal. In any case, this console is a bigger enigma closer to launch than any I can remember recently. That's quite a feat in this day and age.

Damn, "NX details imminent" articles trending for me on Facebook. Hard not to be excited at this point. It has to happen soon.

We have to use the big words to describe the NX's IMPENDING DOOM

Bwuahahaha ;)

East Coast media got hands-on time with Nintendo's holiday lineup today in NYC. That's all.

With Paper Mario already out, you'll have to remind me what other games are releasing this holiday. NES Classic Mini, Pokémon Sun/Moon, and the Animal Crossing re-release with the update? Oh, I guess there's also Super Mario Maker for 3DS. Has the East Coast not had the chance to play the first two yet?

The most annoying thing about those tweets where the NX reveal is imminent is that imminent means something is about to happen, not about to happen in a week or so.

I don't want to be pedantic, but we know nothing. Everything that has been said so far has been from (publicly) unverified sources. We think it will be a hybrid, but we won't know till it actually gets announced.

We know that it is a streamlined platform of sorts so they aren't making handheld and console "versions" of games. It's pretty much the only thing Nintendo has said they are doing with NX or what their focus is. They combined their handheld and console development divisions.

What I mean by "the devil is in the details" is that, based on the specifics, or the actual details of what it does or how it functions, some people will consider it a hybrid and others won't. But we do know that Nintendo is no longer going to have totally different systems in the way that the 3DS and WiiU are.

Nobody is judging Emily on just the NX reveal date. I treat her just like I treat all others who leak things. I look at the overall package. Not every inside will have their rumors 100% correct. Things happen and change behind the scenes all the time.

Typically it is for folks who may have missed E3 or NYCC. It's just a last chance hands-on opportunity prior to review code going out. Nothing too exciting.

I'd say that's a fair enough assumption from the info that Nintendo has provided (way back when)

So we have Emily Rogers putting her cards on the table... and a Treehouse employee that works in Redmond in Washington currently in New York City, assuming she's not there on vacation.

It's not much but, I'll take it. I mean, the Treehouse employee thing feels kind of creepy.

Emily said:
I've heard about some of NX's games and I'm excited. And that's all that really matters. I think NX will deliver in the game department.

All I needed to hear. She also bashed the AMD/powerful console crew. Looking more and more like an affordable handheld/hybrid to me.

The reveal of the NX is going to be one of the most surreal moments of my life.
I think you mean surreal moments in human history. You don't want to miss that day when NX will forever change the course of humanity. You'll be able to tell your kids and grandkids where you were that day to witness the the NX Judgement Day.

Again...Nintendo held a media event in NYC for the holiday lineup.

You are one hundred percent correct. How lucky we are to live to see such a glorious day. Praise NX

Who is the Treehouse employee in Washington? If you're talking about Krysta Yang, I'm pretty sure she does marketing in the Redwood City (that's in California) office and is not part of Treehouse (though she seems to work occasionally with them, based on Nintendo Minute videos).

And yeah, it feels creepy to me, too. (But I had to set the record straight.)

Gonna plop in Super Mario Maker for the first time. Maybe if I leave the controller with a squirrel from the yard overnight it'll produce an NX.

All things considered, Nintendo probably WANTS to reveal the NX before the Investor Meeting.

I mean, it makes sense, right?

Well they aren't going to announce it at the investors meeting. So two options there.

If they at least say, Hey 1 day after the Conference Call is our NX reveal they can effectively tell everyone at the investors meeting to wait until tomorrow.

If the reveal before hand it is possible the investors meeting is nothing but NX related questions.

Honestly I think reveal before is better, because honestly, its going to be nigh impossible to prevent people from asking questions. Just get it outta the way.
