The Office: Final Season |OT| It's better to burn out than it is to rust

The show ended on Michael putting up the painting of the office. Michael was the heart of the show but it wasn't about him anymore. He had his ending.

I thought the Carell cameo was good. He's there for an important event in a friend's life, and he is there in just enough of a dose that the fans enjoy it and that he's not taking away the other characters' impacts and perspective. He's had his goodbye already.

This. Let's not forget this.

Watching the pilot. Man Pam looked so young and secretary-like before Jim and her got together. I like to blame it on her then uncaring boyfriend Roy not making her feel pretty. Once they broke up she started caring more about herself.

It was fine. I agree that there was no need for extended time with Michael since he had his goodbye already. I like that everyone's kind of moving on with their lives. The Ryan/Kelly thing was fun and totally in character, although the baby thing is just kind of messed up. I haven't watched consistently since halfway through S8 but I guess Nellie had a wanting-a-baby arc? Poor Toby though.

All in all it was a good ending to a series that went on just a little bit too long but hit the right emotional chords.

Now when Parks and Rec has a finale, I'll probably be totally choking up.

I hated a lot of stuff they did recently. But the finale was a decent way to wrap it up. They even hired Devin back... I feel like the cast is a peace.

Yeah that and I thought the Erin thing was really poorly done.

I mean here is a baby who was abandoned by its mother...and now Ryan left the baby and ran off and now Nellie is planning on taking the baby to somewhere in Europe. All shot on camera. Sorry but that is a bit much.

Having the real mother there and Ryan just temporarily using the baby to make Kelly jealous would have done the same job just fine.

I'm satisfied. Despite the last few seasons, there were times while watching this that I actually started to feel sad to see it end. It was still quite a run and I'll miss tuning in each week to see what's going on in their lives. I could only hope for the Simpsons to make me feel that way when then finally decide to five it a rest. Thanks for the memories.

The Office cast photo was nice, since I think it was everyone who worked on the show. I know that was Greg Daniels next to Jenna...

The best thing about S8 and S9 is the development of Jim and Dwight's relationship. The last couple of episodes were SO awesome due to this.

Frasier, Friends, and Will & Grace usher in shows like The Office, 30 Rock, My Name Is Earl...

...The Office, 30 Rock, Parks & Rec usher in a sitcom with Sean Hayes and something about a Hispanic and white family.

That Michael J. Fox show looks pretty neat though!

I love how Michael came out of nowhere after weeks of denying involvement in the last episode. Thought it was a great series finale, especially considering how bad the past few seasons have been. They even brought in Carol to sell the house! And Devin! Glad to see the show go out on a good note. I have no idea what to replace it with now haha. Sadly it was missing both Jan and Holly. And maybe even Gabe.

One thing that irked me was bringing back the dad for Erin too. Kinda thought it was a joke at first and it seemed overkill to a decent parent segment.

Pretty sad for it to finally end. In a "you have to put your dog down, but you remember the good times, not the end times when he was sick" kind of way. You grew up with that dog.

I'm trying to think, but didn't they show Jan earlier this season or am I thinking of something else?

Holly, I am a bit disappointed wasn't there. A quick minute or two with Michael, Holly and the kids wouldn't have done any harm. I think most people would've teared up. :'-)

Gabe? Eh, didn't really like his character.

So who was missing from the finale? Holly, Karen, Packer, Jan, Bob Vance, Gabe, Jo, RC, Vikram (sp?), Clark?, all the farm people (lol)

Roy was in it for a second right?

Nice way to end it. Every character seemed to have a nice ending, which was nice.

Yeah. I thought the episode on the whole was hit and miss. BUT, I do think the last 15 minutes were great. And I think it was a really good way to end the show. The end itself really made me feel good about the overall series and what it was about

But I didn't really like the overall premise of the episode. It didn't work for me until they got back to the Office and were spending time together (after the wedding).

Darryl is driving around in limos from joining the company shortly after it formed. Jim put 10 grand in at the start. Why isn't he a millionaire?

because if jim wasn't punished for giving up his time in philly, the whole season plot would have no point

It didn't have much of a point either way. They spent so much time looking back asking the audience to remember the past, I guess they wanted us to forget about the last few seasons.

I enjoyed it. Bittersweet; kind of fell out of favor for a while but man I really loved this show at one time and still love the characters.

I'm more surprised that Michael had so little involvement than disappointed. But that's probably more because of my gap in watching this show after carell left. Ultimately people are right; he already had his goodbye. Also surprised by no Packer or Jan.

Gonna miss it.

I cried.

I feel so lucky to know I stepped foot on that set, and experienced what it was like to be there with those wonderful people.

This show started when I started dating my wife, and we watched it all together... feels weird not having it on every thursday anymore.

Neat. How did you do that?

Won a charity auction, gave it to my wife as her wedding gift, and the visit ended up being scheduled on my birthday in 2012.. was a fantastic experience, John is a wonderful guy.

"I can't believe you came."

"That's what she said."

So freakin' perfect! I can't believe that got me misty, lol.

I'm so happy, it's all I wanted, and I got it. Made the whole last few seasons worth it just for that moment.

The finale was perfect, back to top form for the end. I was definitely a bit teary through some of the final scenes. Michael's comeback was perfect. Just enough presence to make his departure before untarnished imo.

lol, my first thought was "Pam looks much younger!"

Heheh, I keep telling her she looks a little like Jenna Fischer... her and angela came up and talked with us and the resemblance was crazy... wish I had taken a pic of them two side by side.

Here's some more pics just cuz I'm feeling sentimental.

I'm on my phone, so the picture is smaller, but I honest to god thought that was Jenna Fischer.

Great pics, thanks for sharing.

But tell us, what romantic thing did she do to pay you back? ;)

Great finale. A little more sappy than I expected but I enjoyed it. I really wish we had a full season of Dwight as the boss though.

Even if the show sucked from season 5, I will still miss the show, my life is going to feel empty without 30 rock, the office and fringe. Feels like Seinfeld/Friends all over again damn D:

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
I thought it was absolutely terrible. I feel nothing.
