If we win the most golds AND overall there, then they will have nothing left to cling to*.

Apparently our sport is interesting enough that we don't even have to invite people. They just all want to play it. I think that's quite an achievement for a country of Canada's stature. No uniquely American sport has ever achieved the kind of international recognition and competition that hockey has.

Really we won the "this is our game" prize back when we got into the gold medal round because the narrative was us. Not the US, not Russia, not Sweden. In this Olympics, hockey was our story again. Which is what we needed to do after 2006.

Winning was just the cherry on top. The delicious, bitter tears cherry.

And as a Canadian, I still think total medals is the way to do it. Getting the most golds is nice, but the US pretty clearly did better than us.

That said, GO CANADA!!!! What an end to an awesome games...

It was one of the best hockey games ever. Both teams played to win. I thought Canada played a little better and they deserved it.
