Clark's less screen time can also be attributed I figure because he's directing and do more stuff behind the scenes... it must be draining to act and direct week after week.
This season needs to bring back Metallo (they forgot about him already) and Dr Fate, and make Zod more threatening, and this could be the best season of Smallville for mythos.

It will be Brian Austin Greene again and the episode will indeed be titled "Upgrade". It's episode 18 and will feature an upgraded version of Metallo no less. Zod will most definitely get more threatening towards the end of the season and as for Doctor Fate, I wouldn't be surprised to see him return. Geoff Johns is already talking about doing more Smallville stuff next season.
Watched it earlier, thought it was great. Felt very much like a Watchmen ripoff, but that's pretty much the usual setup with Smallville it seems. Lot of their episodes are essentially plots ripped from movies.

I thought the episode was great. I was giggling like a schoolgirl when they gave a tease of Martian Manhunter true form when Dr. Fate knocked him backwards.
