I speculated on June 11 only two posts above yoursdkeane said:Any hints as to when the Island will be released? I've been wanting it since last July when they said it would be out in the fall. Just launch it!
OMG it's happeningtwitter/IslandPete said:getting excited about next month.....
June can't come soon enough.crispyben said:How come I wasn't told about this??? No Gold trophy, too... Trophies for C&R appeared 4 weeks before release, could we be looking at a mid-June trop to the Island?
Looks like there will be a PCPD station on Big Surf Island, look at the filename in the Takedown 4x4 pic for today's post...

It´s a single player game, which maybe you know. If your girl likes to watch you when you play then it will be alright it´s a great single player game, if not look for another game. The S-Word said:Hey guys i want to download this game but i have a quick question. Me and my gf want to play something so can just me and her play this? and if it is just me and her, can i still do races and stuff like single player and doesit count towards my overall ?
oh i'm sorry, i totally didnt even get the question out that i wanted. I meant us both playing online while shes at home and i'm at home. I was asking if the races/challenges/etc could be done with two of us playing online and if so would it count towards my completion % in the game or is it strictly different online challenges.painful fart said:It´s a single player game, which maybe you know. There is a party mode as a payed DLC but it sucks monkey balls, don´t waste your money on that shit.

Yeah, some Ranked Racing rooms are in fact Takedown rooms... Hosting is the best way to get what you want, albeit with a hefty helping of patienceDiablohead said:I went online with my copy fir the first time ever yesterday and managed one race, everyone else was just driving around the map crashing into each other...I need to try making my own room and starting races.
I also wish my ultimate copy didn't need that damn 950meg patch, what's the point when I could have just brought the original for cheap.
You have to do the right kind with the right risk. If you do a race by the dam, the big drop makes for a nice track perk. I go in an oval across the lower left portion of the map hugging the outside then coming back towards the dam and either taking the big dive or going around that bend. A 4 lap race is not that long and it's pretty fun instead of keeping it on the streets.Threi said:races are boring.
multiplayer challenges are where it's at

Release that shit already. Damn I wanna go there! All the new trophies and stunt possibilities. I thought there'd be a place where you can build up speed and hit large jumps. Come on Criterion, give us something. You've been showing this forever and not even a hint as to release?crispyben said:While we wait for the announcement, here is the latest version of floor-313's Islandpedia, compared with a screenshot-composite map of the Island put together by Le Mans Racer, over at the Operation Burnout forums...
June 11 is so hot right now. And there are humongous jumps on the Island, as the 4.5-second jump trophy indicatesLiquidMetal14 said:Release that shit already. Damn I wanna go there! Not if you remember the original map and take into account this island has been in development hell for a year and a half now.Sai-kun said:Wow, that's pretty big.

Educated guess for BSI release based on Trophies appearance and Twitter hinting, nothing more...Pizza Luigi said:June 11?
Classic races would be sweet, just like the classic crash mode. I've done maybe two or three streets of crash mode, I just don't really find it that much fun. I'll do whatever the min is to unlock the trophy in game (think it might be them all ) and probably never touch it again. The old school crash mode was just so much fun, because it was the same every time, and you could play it easily against friends and stuff. I'm close to my Burnout license too, just like 60 races left (probably finish this week).54-46! said:Man I love this game! So gooood I bought it two weeks ago or so and have spent 24 hours with it, 70 races left till i get the elite license. 90% of the time I have been racing and doing burning routes, I'm not that interested in the stunt runs.
I really wish that the game had classic races in addition to the regular ones though, would've been nice with closed off roads, one direction and multiple laps.
dude, that looks tiny. considering how fast some of the later cars/bikes go, you could probably circle the thing in a minute and a half.Sai-kun said:Wow, that's pretty big. Can't wait!

Your friends on the CGN are your PSN friends who play Burnout. And your "rant" doesn't sound like a flame, it pretty much sums up the situation and the discussion: no matter the price, some will buy and some will bitch. DLC prices are not standardized yet, so they are taking advantage of having a community of die-hard fans to make some more money... I can live with that, because I can pay. I understand the frustration of some, though.Wizpig said:So, Gaf... how to put this without making it sound like a flame... *snip*
edit. I was also wondering how can you add friends on the Criterion Network
We know you're all desperate for all the details on Big Surf Island. Our mailbag is always full of great questions about this upcoming content. Today I can tell you the wait for answers is almost over. Be sure to check out www.criteriongames.com at 4pm BST on Friday 22nd May for the answer to the most asked question. See you then,Island Pete
'tis a bug, and an annoying one at that. pick a car, drive out of the garage and if the mileage doesn't start to move within a block, go back and try again.Xun said:I just noticed something weird.
For some reason some of my cars are displaying as "new" when I've already used them, another weird thing is the mileage on some of the cars do not increase... :S
Any thoughts?
Well, I agree that Criterions rape policy when it comes to DLC pricing is beyond embarrassing, but what really pisses me off is how they added easy-peasy trophies that depend on the DLC cars. Take part in this challenge in a toy .... car, take part in a road rage or whatever in a ..... car and it goes on. What a f***ing achievement to buy a DLC car and use it. :-(Wizpig said:So, Gaf... how to put this without making it sound like a flame... i still don't like what they are doing with DLC pricing: cars are absolutely overpriced [i still feel bad for buying Toy Cars, but when i saw the price for the Boost Specials DLC... i couldn't believe my eyes; those are TWO cars] and the new modes are quite expensive too.
What i don't like is that i feel these prices are so high because they made the first year of DLCs completely free; that or they are insane on pricing 2 cars at a higher price than a XBLA game.
But anyway, while hardcore fans will buy everything [which means paying 100+ for this game, if you bought it day-one] some people will just get the free DLCs without supporting the team, which will in response put even higher prices... i don't know, i just don't like this cycle, i loved the "free DLCs, then Premium content" idea, but this is crazy.
I'm scared to know how much they will charge for the Island.
Feel free to ignore my rant, but i'd like to know your opinions on the matter anyway -- and by the way, i bought Legendary and Toy Cars. [mainly to support the team]
