The Official Daily Show Thread with Jon Stewart

Yeah, not sure how I feel about Nightly Show just yet either. It feels more like CC want Wilmore to do his own Last Week, Tonight, but with all the restrictions of basic cable

If anything, Wilmore's show feels more like Real Time than LWT, what with the panel and all.

The thing that's really bugging me about Wilmore so far is that he keeps laughing at his own jokes in his opening bit. Maybe it's just a pet peeve that bothers me more than most, but I've always been annoyed when a comedian does that. It's especially weird since he didn't do that on TDS.

I don't think I've seen Real Time before, so I don't really know for sure, but sounds plausible.

Saw Mondays nightly show and I thought it was fine, but it wasn't really "funny" so I'm not sure what I'm really expecting to get out of it at this point.

There are moments when it does become hilarious because of it though. :p

Yeah, but that's more akin to Bill Hader losing it as Stefon than outright laughing at his own jokes. It's also one of the funniest moments of the Report

i've been begging for over 5 years.
Jon killed tonight with his Iowa primary bit. I nearly fell off the couch with the Palin selling a Lincoln bit. The run up this year to the election in 2016 is going to be awesome. The candidates on the republican side are clown shoes. Easy pickings for TDS.

Keepin'it 100 is amazing, those questions lol.

That segment has been hit or miss for me.

I feel like nightly show has the format of a one hour show. Their 4 person panel is too impacted for the time they are given, not to mention they integrate the little skits too sometimes.

They should maybe make it a 2 person panel instead and have it be more debatey in that sense.

Holy shit that Congressman from Florida has a brass set.

"I will wait until the gentleman apologizes for insulting my state."

"Well you will be waiting until Hell freezes over."

With Colbert and soon Stewart gone, Comedy Central is going to have a huge hole in it. You cannot replace either one of these guys. I am really, really... I almost want to say disturbed that I have to sit through 2016 without either one of these shows to help me cope.

Stewart's timing is crazy; given that we just saw Colbert leave, wouldn't it make more sense for Stewart to step down in 2017 after covering one more Presidential election?

He just may be sick of the political shit, maybe he doesn't want to deal with the stupidity of another election. Especially considering this one is shaping up to be even dumber than the last.

He made his millions putting up with stupid politics! One more election isn't going to hurt.

This is like the 3rd or 4th time Jon's talked about buying CNN and fixing it up in the last couple of months, he's probably joking but what if that is actually the plan....

I mean it's not gonna happen, but just what if it did...

Did anyone else get the feeling from the interview with Conan that they may not like each other? The whole thing just seemed a little too forced at times. Jon’s usually very relaxed with other comedians but this interview didn’t seem like that. Conan didn’t seem too thrilled to be there either but he did mention he was jetlagged.

I'm gonna go with the jetlag and just an awkward interview, they seemed fine during the writer's strike.

Probably just an off interview. Colbert, Stewart, and O'Brien have always seemed to have a pretty good professional relationship (including the amazing fights and crashing each others shows.)

I watched last night's episode and couldn't believe the show Olivia Wilde mentioned was real. Quick Google search and yes I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant was on for four seasons and has 56 episodes. More proof that humanity is doomed.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

The Soup used to play clips from that. It's a lot of "women on toilets".
