Picked up the Spartan Halo 3 controller. Kinda hard to find. Had to call four EBs - and then they made fun of me for buying it. I got $18 trade in for my old launch wireless controller. Anyway, I took some pics:

The design part of the top of the controller is ceramic-like (smooth). Its not textured like the regular controllers.
Get a black play & charge kit. Maybe you can trade in your original white one and not have to pay much, if your local store sell these black ones.

The front looks nice. The art is a bit too busy for me to use it for actual playing, but it's pretty enough to have as a collector's item.siamesedreamer said:

I would have made fun of you too. Sorry man but that controller looks awful and silly. The back of my Elite controller looks like yours though. After my Premium crapped out twice on me I sold it for an Elite at launch. Still works fine so far (knock on wood!), but I kept my old play and charge kit because it's still perfectly good. they shoulda made some green controllers that said H3 or something. this looks like some final fantasy shit.

The new controller feels different because there's like 4 tiny little bumps on the two sticks that I had completely worn down on the old controller...feels weird feeling them.

Also just checked out the H3 wireless headset, has a (potentially) odd problem though. I was talking to my friend in a private chat, and I could hear everything I was saying about a half second later, obviously disconcerting. I could hear him just fine, and he could hear me just fine, no hiss or echo or anything. It went away briefly than came back. But then I tried sending voice messages to people and couldn't hear myself, then we decided to test out something in-game. The only game we both have right now that's online is Halo 2 (he just bought his system, he was the one with the return problem...which got interesting), and in the in-game lobby there was also no problems at all. He said I was just very slightly quieter than usual, but no problems, and I could hear him just fine and wasn't having the self-echo problem there either. So I'm not sure if this is just a private chat problem, or maybe even something with the connection between the two of us, or what. I tried all the re-connecting stuff and turning off any wireless stuff near it (all I had was a cordless phone and the Wii) and so on, in chat none of that helped. I'm going to try to get online in a little bit with a different friend and see if it persists, then try a 360 game with him to see if it's the same thing or what.
Also I couldn't find anything like this with a google search, I just kept finding stuff about the other people having a echo/hiss, nothing about hearing yourself. Weird. I'll post back, if anyone else here who got the H3 headset gets it up and running let me know if you have any problems or not.

I've had this happen on occasion before, and I don't use any wireless headsets. It's probably happened ten of fifteen times over the past three years of playing Halo 2. If you used to use a wired headset and it just started happening when you switched over, and it continues to do so for an extended period of time, then you may have a problem. But like I said, I've had that type of problem a few times and it's never been as a result of using a wireless headset, and it always fixed itself after a short period of time.SailorDaravon said:
