Total Sacrifice (me!) = Party Leader of WIN :D :D :D

Edit: Changed 'Host' to 'Party Leader' since that's what I meant.

I'm sure 7-11 will be one of the first stores to break the street date.

that leads me to an interesting question...
If you could buy an early copy, would you?

I thought about this long and hard and this is the most honest thing I could come up with:
If I saw halo3 on sale tomorrow somewhere I think I'd buy a copy, drop it in my car... then go back inside and buy every available copy left in the store and try and report the store to bungie/ms. Then return the extra copies on the 25th attempting to ensure that no more copies fall into hands. Keeping my own copy which I'd play through, and keep my mouth shut about considering myself NDA'd. I realize what an early copy of halo3 could fetch on ebay, but it would be such an asshole move that I could never do it. But there is nothing that could keep me from unplugging my 360 and playing through campaign.. I would just be to weak.

It's an interesting scenario to play out in your head. What are you made of?

Add me! I'll be on about 15 minutes after this post is up. My gamertag is Uno ILL Nino. Just like my name here. I've been playing Halo 2 each night for the last 2 weeks or so. I will probably continue until Halo 3. So add me already!

I would buy it, play it, and then brag about how cool I'm to my friends.

Umm... YEAH. It's not like I'd leak the plot to GAF or anything. I'd just pour through Campaign over and over again, giggling hysterically.

Blueblur1 said:
I would but GameStop already has my money and old games. Yes, I fed the monster. :(

Shit, I meant 8PM EST as in 2 hours ago when we played before. Sorry? O_O
Dood... :-(

I was playing CoD4. I can play now if we get a big enough party.

4 matches left. They have to be epic.
Send me an invite when you want to play.

I'd definitely buy it early, but no way in hell would I play it early.

haven't any of you been paying attention? play that shit early = permaban from live.

not sure if this happens if yours is unplugged though.. can't see it happening offline.

NO, breaking XBL TOS and stealing H3 Epsilon = permaban. If you buy a retail copy then you have no problem

Yeah. I'd be playing it safe and staying offline. But the very second 9/25/07 12:00 AM hits I'm jumping online. This, of course, being in the fantasy future in which I'll get a copy early thanks to my local 7-11 noob employee. BELIEVE.

What do you mean? Play it the second you have it. They won't ban you unless you start playing it really far in advance. If for some odd reason a store sells it an hour early, are you really going to sit there reading the manual waiting for an hour?

I am so confused. Why are 7-11s selling Halo 3?

Offline Campaign will be fun enough to keep me from the potentially permaban-worthy act of going online before 9/25. I know the danger is negligible, and MS/Bungie has little way of knowing if I'm actually some sort of industry insider or relative of, but I don't really wanna take any chances.

Again, this is in my fantasy world where I manage to get it a few days early. I'm pretty damned determined to make this a reality.

Your fantasies are nothing like my fantasies.

After Best Buy started selling Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, my friend and I took bets on how soon Barnes & Noble would start taking Halo 3 pre-orders... :lol

Uh, all the Best Buy's I've been to on east and west coasts have had a selection of books for at least 5 years. They probably sold the first Harry Potter book when it came out.

I think Bungie and MS know this. I can guarantee every store manager is being given very strict instructions and know what will happen if they break street date. Hammer.

I guess the better question would be: Since when do 7-11's sell games? Has this ever happened before?
I too am wondering this. Also, I'm curious as to how it will impact sells of the game, convenience stores are places that get a lot of traffic by almost every walk of life.

I would without a doubt pick it up early. I would then proceed to play the hell out of the Campaign. After that everything else would be open game.

I'm sure Bungie and MS are making an effort; however, 7-11 does not have a lot of experience with release dates and their employees are not always built of the best stuff.

A very polite way of putting that, I applaud you. I hope I can get my hands on one of those and have my first "slurpee." Is that what they're called? I keep wanting to say slushie.

and thats why i'm going to find a 7-11 right around a week before 9/25 and try to seduce some older ugly lady working the register.

Master Chief's third outing is expected to be good, but will it be great?

The Microsoft sponsored reviews will be held in both New York and at Bungie headquarters in Kirkland Washington from September 9-13 during 24 hour continuous gaming sessions. Due to heightened interest, attendance will be limited to one reviewer per outlet says Microsoft.

In addition to full multiplayer and campaign modes, reviewers will be privy to everything else the game has to offer including cooperative play, the ability to save and reply in-game highlights, and the special content featured on the Legendary and Limited edition DVDs.

Video capture will not be allowed, non-disclosure agreements are required, and Microsoft is expected to provide non-exclusive screenshots and game assets to all reviewing press. Reviews will be withheld from publish until Sept. 23, 12:00 PM PST at the earliest.

Halo 3 has been sent to manufacturing, it's broken preorder records, and will release to much fanfare in fewer than 18 days on Xbox 360 (Sept. 25).

Got it from TXB.

Hmm. I wonder how EGM will handle this.

Cool that they get to see the extra content from the special editions.

How else would they judge if it was worth the extra dough?

We even give them a cat each to model the helmet.

CATS FOR EVERYONE!

I'm kind of wondering how most places are handling it, it seems like less then ideal review conditions.

Conditions like these aren't limited to just Halo 3; many high profile releases hold events like this for reviewers to play through the game. It is odd that only one reviewer per outlet is allowed to play the game, especially since some magazines feature multiple people's opinions. It will be interesting to see how this is handled.

I dunno. I guess I don't think of many reviewers reviewing limited editions.

I did not know that. Halo 3 is really the first game I've seen people talk about the review conditions semi-openly.

All this 7-11 talk has inspired me to go get a Slurpee when I go pick up my friend from his job in 30 minutes. I'll probably then swing by Wal-Mart and pick up the Heroes DVD.
Mission Accomplished. I got the flag capturing Spartan cup and my sweet sweet Heroes Season 1 DVD box set.
