Downloaded Labyrinth today ($6.99). It's a very cool physics game where you tilt the phone to direct a ball around a table that many of you will recognize. It's very well put together and addicting as well.

Just got my iPhone a day or so ago and have amassed a small collection of games so far.

Motion X Poker - It really is as good as everyone says in this thread and everywhere else. Something very satisfying about the whole thing... And addictive!

AcidSolitaire Collection - Little more expensive than other games but I spent ludicrous hours on my PDA over the years so it made sense to get a version for my new gadget. Comes with Solitaire, Freecell and Spider.

Aurora Feint - 'nuff said.

Texas Hold 'Em - Only played one game but hits the spot perfectly.

Platinum Sudoku - Just downloaded. Again, past experience of the game led me to stump up the dough for it.

Might be an idea for me to try something less conventional methinks!

What happened to all the people oohing and ahhing over these great games? :(

Come back, hype!
The great games are few and far between, unfortunately.

The App Store is proof that you need some kind of quality control in place.

After the horrid impressions of Crash Nitro Kart on here, has anyone tried Moto Racer or Cro-Mag Rally?

Ohhh, Enigmo looks fun.

Such a shame there are no demos of these well-produced games, though. Don't feel like chancing £6 on a game that may be a dud.

Enigmo is quite fun and the latest update makes it dead easy to download new, fan-made levels from the game itself.

If you like puzzlers and the incredible machine, I'd say it's worth 10 bucks easily.

And, now time for an important announcement:

I Have Unlocked All the Dice in MotionX Poker.

that is all.

I guess this is only for the UK, but you can get BBC iPlayer on your iPhone.

Just visit bbc.co.uk/iplayer in Safari and it'll re-direct.

There's the whole of Chicken Run on there at the moment!

I was just checking out Kotaku this morning and noticed that there is a xbox live iPhone app.

Shame its really only a feed of the xbox.com website from gamertags you enter and its charge :(

EDIT: ohh just found this in the comments

I've been using 1337pwn for a while now. Yeah, worst name ever, but it functions exactly the same as this new app. Honestly though, it's all I need. I mostly play with a close group of RL friends, so I just need to know if they're online playing.

Anyone buy this yet? I've been waiting for a decent racing app. I'm not really interested in the cartoony look of the Crash or Cro-mag racers, and I've spent way too much on useless apps already.

I might be wrong on this but you can only get it when your going through a wifi connection right?

And guys, are you all playing these games on the go? If so how long does your battery last?

This thread could definitely use a 'what to get/what to avoid list'.

What to get
Galcon
Radius
VS Chess
and +1 for CritterCrunch

What to avoid
Graal Zone
Crash Kart Racing
Monkey Ball

I wouldn't count Graal Zone out yet, the actual game servers are supposedly going up Monday, *then* we'll know if it's worth it or not. Especially since they have the free version to download.

Well, it sucked when I bought it years ago for Palm OS, but who knows.

Here are my stats. I loved the game but I lost interest after getting all the Gems -- well, I still have to get the 14 day Gem cause I missed a day towards the end.

Now, I'm playing DizzyBee which is an awesome little game for cheap.

Does it go pretty fast after playing the Dragon Table?

Pretty fast yeah. I'm hoping they release a higher stakes table. Still the game will likely play at the same rate. My biggest run is sixteen times which racked up quite a lot of cash. I got three back-to-back Five-of-a-kind.

Well, I chose to ignore the hundreds of negative reviews of Super Monkey Ball on iTunes and downloaded it.

It's... OK.

Everyone on the App Store seems to find it too sensitive, but I don't think that's the problem at all. There just seems to be way too much 'dead zone' in the accelerometer. It's almost digital in movement, so it gets frustrating very quickly.

I downloaded the free game Cube Runner, and that works beautifully with the accelerometer, with lovely smooth movement, so it definitely can be done.

Fingers crossed Sega release an update for it at some point. Oh, and I'm pretty sure the monkeys are the sprites from Monkey Ball GBA. :lol

amen to the 'cube runner proves that accelerometer controls can be smooth and awesome' argument regarding SMB. It seriously needs an update.

and a free solitare game just went up, it's as awesome as a free game can be, so grab it (look in the top free apps list).

and here's a question inspired by playing it for a while: is the point of solitaire that every game you play is solveable, and that your errors just make it insolvable? or are there some deals that you just can't win?

LucasFilms has PhoneSaber removed from App Store. Says official version may be in the works:

As of now, PhoneSaber will no longer be available, I’ve had a chat with a guy from THQ Wireless (who own the rights for Star Wars apps on mobiles) and apparently the guys from Lucas don’t want it up there anymore. They didn’t want to go down the attacking cease and desist route, so we’re being dealt with very amicably.

They want to do some sort of official, Star Wars branded version of PhoneSaber, and will be working with us on that one. I don’t know any information beyond that, whether they plan to charge for it, advertise with it or what, but we’ll keep you updated on as much as we’re allowed to tell you.

i'll wait for real japan support for the App-Store. were the hack are the Square-Enix games? i want TWEWY for iPhone.

TWEWY would be totally unplayable on iPhone, except if they remove the partner character.

Patch is coming for Super Monkey Ball:

Having trouble controlling “Super Monkey Ball” on an iPhone? You aren’t alone.

Even though the breakout mobile hit has sold more than 300,000 copies on Apple’s application store, most users still cite issues with the control (me included!)

MTV Multiplayer has confirmed that Sega is working on a patch. We were told the patch was imminent at E3. Yesterday, we learned Sega is still “working with Apple on the patch.”

The patch should (at least) introduce the ability to tweak the “dead zone” in “Super Monkey Ball.” The dead zone is the orientation at which you could hold the iPhone to stop moving. As it stands, it’s almost impossible to find the “dead zone” without dying multiple times.

There is no ETA on the patch, however. As iPhone users have come to expect, application patches come randomly during the day. As soon as we know something more specific, we’ll let you know.

cool. I knew they had to do something since the best selling game on the service has like a two-star rating from everyone who bought it.
I am one of these poor saps. I can't get past level 9. Argh!
