Gotta spell it as "PuzzleQuest."womp said:Why can I not find Puzzle Quest on the App store? Well...At least via iTunes at the moment (At work with no WiFi).
It doesn't appear in the search as even existing. Weird.

So am I to assume this is the 'full' Puzzle Quest? The same one I already own on DS and XBLA and am drooling to own again now on my brand new Touch but have been weary due to some haphazard tactics?
I may wait and see if that Lite version shows up this week as rumored.

The DS version has always been damn spiffy.
It has no multiplayer and its only like half the game. Supposedly they will release the second half as a free update though which is why I purchased.womp said:Heh, thanks.

Its a playable version which it really wasn't before. I mentioned some of the flaws above like some slowdown when you make matches on the puzzle screen but imo it's a not a deal breaker or anything that overly effects gameplay. Its a decent version and that's especially the case if they supposedly release the second half for free although you may want to wait just to make sure that really happens.
That's what I thought at first. It seemed so stupid to be releasing it in chunks and then charging extra for the next chapters - but Transgaming has been really receptive to the criticism of the port, and listened to their customers. The announcement of them releasing the second update for free is what sold me. It told me that they actually do care, unlike what it seemed to be the case beforehand.womp said:Right that was what I wanted to understand. Basically if I purchase this 1.2 now I will get 'Chapter 1' (Which is insane since they are chopping a full game in half) and for all intents and purposes the second half of the game, 'Chapter 2', for 'free' when released.
So essentially I'll have the entire game for $9.99 at that point and then an option to buy the expansion later.
Ya know...Maybe I will skip this and save my cash for Galactrix DS. What a bunch of retards behind this release. Damn shame.

Stoney Mason said:I never overly had a problem with them breaking it into parts although the pricing structure should have been made clear from the beginning which they didn't do and probably drop the price of the first component.
To be fair, this version has all the bugs fixed from the DS & PSP versions, plus it will have the added expansion that only the XBLA & PSN versions have available to purchase. Also, it will have continued update support.. something that is not commonly practiced on on PSP & DS.womp said:I did.
Considering it was a full game on the other formats it's pretty much a case of trying to make an extra buck off their customers. Not only can you get the best version of the game (IMO, although the correct opinion) for $15 on the DS these days and on XBLA and PSP as well this was quite frankly uncalled for.
These guys aren't even the developers for crying out loud.

Once again not overly defending them but the market tends to punish apps as they increase in price. Charging $15 in a sea full of cheap games is a very risky strategy. (It's very unlikely I would have paid that price) We'll see how this plays out with the premium price app store.womp said:In place of new ones though?
I'm not complaining about the price, I've already invested in multiple formats of this game already but then again why not just charge $15 for the full game and be done with it in the first place?
I don't get the precedent that these apps all have to be under $5 especially if it is a quality one such as this.
Easily fixable, though. The text used to be horrible - they fixed that. In the PSP version, the Companions didn't work. At all. In the DS version, sometimes you got the same exact gem layout. These problems are still prevalent in the versions you would buy today. If there were a problem with the iPhone Puzzle Quest, it's easily fixable.womp said:In place of new ones though?

Dreamwriter said:Mac Mini's what I use at work to make iPhone games. Takes longer to upload the game to the iPhone than it does to compile it, and the simulator runs way faster on the Mini than the actual iPhone, so speed there isn't an issue. More speed would be nice, but I'm just saying for iPhone development the Mac Mini is quite usable.
I don't think anyone would have a problem with it especially within this thread. There are some devs in the XNA thread.maxmars said:By the way is it ok to "advertise" on GAF the publishing of a project? I should finish my first project ina couple of weeks, but I don't know anything about the publishing process.. I still have to apply to the Dev program X_Xmaxmars said:Ah I see. Thanks!
I'm about one week away from my 1.0 release, but I do have a feeling that the publishing process will take its own time. Also I want this translated in six languages so I'll have to wait for the translations.

Bought the game, this happens painfully often, I don't know if I'm Doing It Wrong© or something, but holy hell that makes the game barely playable.Dragnet said:your input not being recognized from time to time
