Did anyone buy Ferrari GT evolution? I bought it and it wont work.
What happens, did you reboot your iphone/touch at all?

It's always worked for me but today I noticed it was patched, so maybe something changed.

iDracula came out today. It reminds me of an older PC game, Crimsonland. In fact, it follows pretty much the same premise: lone gunman, swarms of enemies come at you, you level up and gain perks at every level. Seems pretty fun so far.

Yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised. Very fun, addicting little game. At 99 cents it's basically a must-buy.

And it will go up to 2.99 so if you were thinking about trying it that's a better price than you will get down the road. Haven't tried it myself but I'll probably pick it up this evening.

MoreGames’ iDracula has finally made it into the App Store this morning for its introductory price of $0.99

The game is described as an “intense” survival shooter in which you must battle hordes of Vampires, Werewolves, Witches and Dracula himself. Early opinions on the game have been very positive. The game carries some wonderful artwork and feels quite polished. If you’re looking for an action shooter, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed for $0.99.

In the app description, the developer promises two new levels, new creatures, a new weapon and new game mode in an upcoming update. The regular price is said to be $2.99.

Seriously though, is there really no way to save your progress in the middle of a fight in Puzzle Quest?
Nah. Kinda stupid, but I don't care really. Just adds to the playtime!

Speaking of which, I beat Gruulkar for the first time the first try. Dugog took me foreverrrrr.

ugh, definitely glad I didn't buy Katamari. Controlling it is annoying as shit, and I love the PS2 games.
Psh. I love the controls. They take some getting used to, but it's fun once you get it.

Thanks to the people who gave me some suggestions on the last page. Two more things really quick:

- I wanna give the IM+ programs a try, any big negatives to them?
- I'm looking for a good radio app and AOL Radio is pretty good for being free, but is WunderRadio worth the $5.99? I seem to see nothing but praise, but I just wanted to run it by some others.

What? IDracula is only $.99? Dang might get that. Looks better than that Zombie USA game.

Alright so impressions on a few games purchases

Biplane - Its decent flyer. It looks good and has smooth controls. My only problem is the sensitivity is so low that in order to do the maximum angle dive/climb you have to tilt the screen so far away you can't see it. Hopefully they patch in a sensitivity option.

First Contact - Interesting little 3d missile command thing. Downloaded it because some app was plugging and it had no reviews so I took a chance. Very repetitive. You have a globe and about 5 turrets on the surface and you have to constantly spin it to see the incoming missiles then you just tap on them to fire your own. Each wave increases numbers and a few new enemies yada yada. Not worth the price of 3 bucks (i think it was that much).

Puzzle Quest - Had it on Steam but never play it. Will probably get way more out in this version. The price drop and free chapter 2 definitely put it over the edge.

TA got screens of Tiger Woods. Definitely would be interested in this.

iDracula is a very fun game, well worth it's asking price and looks great too, nice to have a sprite based game instead of low poly models for once on my Touch.

I also downloaded puzzle quest lite just now so i'll give that a cracking later, never played it before.

I also brought Racoon yesterday and that is a solid, good looking biplane flight game.

As boring as it may sound, anybody have a good suggestion for an application I can use for a school planner? I figured I'd make a project for each class and put assignments in the project. I know Omnifocus has a "due soon" tab which seems useful but it's $20. I'm not adverse to $20 but if there's something better I'd like to know. I was also looking at Todo and Things. Anyone have any suggestions of apps to try? Also I'm using iprocrastinate right now. I just hate having to tap into each class to see what's due soon. I'd love a summary page or a "due soon" section like in Omnifocus. Thanks for any suggestions you guys might have!

After initial criticism, I went ahead and bought iDracula. Played it during school today and my friends thought it was pretty cool. It's a fun game.

Stop smiling, Costanza. You're the one that bought Little Red Sled. :lol

Aqua Moto Racing is fun, but it's not representative of racing real jet skis. Can't dig in and whip it. That's the most fun part of riding jet skis. ;)

As someone said on toucharcade, wave race 64 has spoilt us when it comes to jet ski's.

Also bought. I love Geometry Wars so the style appears to me and I've also been hearing nothing but good things about it. I already have fieldrunners, but if it plays a little differently to that then I'm in.

A new TD game was released a couple of days ago called GeoDefence, introduction price set at $0,99:
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=305608325&mt=8

It's brilliant, easily the best TD game of the ones I have on Touch (Fieldrunners, 7 Cities, The Creeps). Great Geometry Wars style graphics, fast gameplay, good towers and upgrades, etc, etc.

A Youtube video here:

Also purchased. Looks great.

If you have beaten the map with two long vertical paths in GeoDefense than please put me out of my misery and give me a tactic. I tried focusing on laser towers but I always die at level 11 when shit gets crazy.

The game is good, but WAY too hard. Even the easy levels.

GeoDefense is fucking awesome, I'm stuck at level 3 easy :lol but it's balls to the walls hard challenge is what makes me come back for more, well worth it.

Also I tried the lite version of the jetski game and it actually seems quite good, there are waves but the do no effect the jetski's at all which is a shame, a slight bounce would have added a lot to the gameplay.

On a different note here are some of the recent iphone/itouch gaming commercials. You have to give apple credit for putting dollars behind pushing the gaming aspect of the devices.

Microsoft almost never does it for Xbox Live or community games by comparison.
Yeah these ad's are on tv a fair bit for me, I see them probably 1-2 times a week which is 1000% more then most other game ad's unless MS are pushing gears or halo.

GeoDefense is fucking awesome
This needs to be repeated and spread far and wide, I only finished the easy levels but they're awesome, and the towers are pretty cool.

Easy mode lvl 10 (Queen's Revenge) ends up in an explosion-fest, it's 100% awesome. And damn hard.

Which one is it?

Just got a PR about a "Movie-style adventure for the iPhone" called Hysteria Project. Looks pretty cool...

Hysteria Project

Bulkypix's team is proud to announce his first iPhone game “Hysteria Project”:

You start in an old cabane after been tied by a strange and frightening guy...

Your eyes are blurred, you feel your heart pulsing on forehead sides.

You see this strange logo everywhere around you and start to hear weird cries.

There is only one thing to do.. escape and stay alive!

Hysteria Project is a groundbreaking gaming experience, where you are the hero of an entirely filmed adventure. Go along with the video clips, keep a sharp eye on what's going on around you and most importantly of all - make the right choices at the right time.

The best way to qualify this first episode is an interactive serie with quick-time events.

In Hysteria Project you feel really like if you are in the movie. We spent lot of time designing and tuning the sound design to increase the immersion of the player in the adventure. This episode is the pilot to pose the context, it's the beginning of a long story where each episode will bring new innovative gameplays and features. We are going to listen to our players to add what they want to play in next episodes.

The whole story will reveal who you are, your involvement in the Hysteria Project and what is the meaning of this strange symbol you see everywhere.

Hysteria Project has been submitted and will come soon.

It's approximately 30 to 40 minutes of gameplay for a low price 1.99$.

You never saw a game like Hysteria Project on Appstore yet. We hope you will enjoy to play.

Anyone know of any Geometry Wars (Not a TD game) type of games on the touch/phone?

Belowscape
30 and Dirty
iDracula

...also, not a "dual stick" shooter, but quite good with a similar feel: Blue Attack!

I'm a pretty hardcore TD guy. Just got GeoDefense based on the recs here.

To me, they've ruined this game with the difficulty level, and I like hard challenges. If it's too hard for me, I can't imagine what others with less experience with TD games go through.

I know the developer was going for something different here, but sometimes I think developers get too close to their creation to realize that their pet "feature" (in this case the uber-hard difficulty) is not really fun.

Having said that, there's a lot to like here. They need to patch the difficulty, and might be the best TD game yet on the iPhone.

Thats the thing though normal TD tactics don't really work here. One guy in Touch Arcade forum said that each map was like a puzzle and that really is what its like. In the description the dev even states that it is really rare to complete a level and not give up a single life. Not many TD games are like that. You have to find the best combo for each map through trial and error. Once you do find it though it becomes sort of easy.

I like it and while it may be a little too hard its so well balanced. Most TD games aren't and there is usually one way that is overpowered.

Unless you started from medium straight, it's not that hard seriously, it's just that each map requires thought, as indicated in the description it has puzzly features.

I've tried every app that is supposed to be used solely for school and they are all really lacking. The big problem is entering assignments on the phone. If you're in any math classes where you have like 50 problems per assignment then it would take forever.

If you don't mind spending a bit of money, get Things. It's great, especially if you have a Mac. You can get Things for $10 and then the desktop app can be bought with a student discount for $34. Between the two of those things I'm set. Every Monday I go onto my schools online section and paste all of my assignments into the Things desktop app with their due dates, and sync it to my iPhone. It takes like 3 minutes versus god knows how long it would take to try to enter all of those assignments on the phone.

If you want more detailed info about Things and some good ways it can be used for organization... PM me.

Agreed. And altough it is a challenge, and that it really picks up in the medium levels, it never feels unfair. Learning to use to towers (and making the most of the upgrades rather than placing towers everywhere) and being able to read the maps and take advantage of them is essential.

Great game just very hard :/

2079 (which is pretty underated imo)

and iDracula to name 2.

Not that iDracula needs a lot of pimping as it's the top selling game currently on the iphone. The two virtual d-pad controls do take some getting use to though. I'd like to see an update where movement is controlled by tilting.
