any impressons of Snails Reloaded? Looks like a Worms clone, which could be good.

I played Snails on Palm OS back in the day. It was a very competent Worms clone. I'll have to check out the iPhone version.

I'm on the edge... I'm about to buy an iPod Touch. I'm probably going to get a 16GB. What's the first game I should download... what will really wow me and create a great first impression? :P

I'm thinking Rolando.

OMG SNAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I played this to DEATH on my PDA back in the day.

SNAILS > WORMS

BUY BUY BUY

So basically it's a Worms clone? Bought.

edit: it's fun, but the controls could use some work. A patch could make this a fantastic game.

Might have to. Check out that. Just got an ipone last week and was a little skeptical (blackberry guy) and wow app store has kinda blew me away. Steve was right the thing is a gaming system. So far on impulse and this thread

-sim city
-Field runners
-Fast lane
-7 cities
-Real soccer (real imppresive)

So far really fun. Going to have to take the Wii mindset though with these games. They have to be made for the touch screen.

I've been playing a lot of Civilization Revolution on DS lately, and it just reinforces the obvious:

Civ for the iPhone would be my soul mate!

If I could get that game on the iPod I think I would throw the DS in the same storage box as my PSP and Wii.

I'm enjoying the following games recently:

Dr. Awesome (NGMOCO done it again)
Topple
Galcon
The Price Is Right
Field Runners
Scramboni
Tiki Tower

I got a free promo code for Spore Origins yesterday and while I hated the lite edition of Spore Origins, I can't freaking put down the full game. As you progress through the game you unlock more parts and upgrades as you get harder enemies, bosses, and levels. Upgrading and changing my little creature is so addicting. This is my character as of a couple hours ago (he looks even different now, he's got defense scales, a teethier mouth, and an electrocuting pod that comes out of his butt!):

It's basically like a flOw on crack.

Spore Origins has always been a good game. Personally that stage was my favorite part of the actual Spore game.

Not a recommendation but just letting you know Brother in Arms got a price drop from 9.99 to 5.99 in case you were curious about that one.

And also finally ifart mobile has dropped from #1 to #2 on the us store for paid apps...

Downloaded the Lite version of Dance Dance Revolution S from the Japanese itunes store the other week and I'm pretty impressed. Only the Lite version is available though, anyone have any idea as to when the full version is out?

Which app is now first?

An actually deserving #1 app: iShoot

(iShoot Lite)

iShoot!

To be fair I've never played it and it has an average rating of 4.5 stars.

I think sticking "i" infront of your title is a smart gimmick that almost sort of gives your game an official air.

Anyone play this? How long is it/is it decent?

I just cannot recommend Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes to you, especially when it comes in at ten dollars. There is a good game in here, but the awful controls (except for the tank) just crush any chance of really getting at it. At no point does it feel natural or comfortable, leading to some unfortunate bumbling, especially when you try to throw grenades, which adds accelerometer functionality while you struggle with the touch controls. Your download dollars are better spent elsewhere.

IGN Ratings for Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes (iPhone)
Rating Description
out of 10 click here for ratings guide
8.5 Presentation
As always, Gameloft shoots for the moon with high production values.
8.0 Graphics
Excellent character and vehicle models. Great colors.
8.0 Sound
Fantastic soundtrack and sound effects.
5.0 Gameplay
Clumsy control schemes deflate the game. You are in a near constant struggle with the controls.
6.0 Lasting Appeal
You may try to fight the controls just to see what's next. That's understandable. But it's not worth the frustration.
6.0
Passable OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

Thanks for saving my lazy self who couldn't look it up some money. After getting Bioshock for $5 during the holiday steam deal, I'm starting to hold iphone games to higher standards--thus my anger at buying snails on a whim due to flunkie. asshole, that game is NOT fun! :lol

Anything 4.99 or cheaper I'll pull the trigger on pretty much immediately if I'm geniunely curious about the game. Once something reaches above that price I have to believe its actually something I'll want and actually play.

Brother of Arms looks very good and sort of occupies a unique spot as a game on the iphone but the reviews are so middling it's hard to pull the trigger.

When I get a new iPod Touch, I don't have to upgrade to 2.x firmware do I? I mean, I don't have to pay for it... right?

Also, are there online multiplayer games?

Thanks. I've been looking around and I'm having trouble finding online MP games. Are there any fun games with it?

Also, when Peggle hits, I will buy it 5 times.

Not too many so far but Galcon is one.
Sounds good.

OH COME ON! Are you serious? It's a blast.

Okay, I guess nostalgia kind of clouded my vision. :(

stupid question but how do I access the Canadian store exactly? I live in Canada but it won't let me fucking select Canada or change to its store in Itunes.
I thought about this too, but... they'll make it work. They have to. It's Peggle! :)

I actually have been playing it more since I posted that and its been growing on me. Guess the leap in polish from Rolando (my last actual purchase) to this threw me off at first. Opinion validated, you have been reinstated as trustworthy in igaming taste. :D

I'm glad I'm worthy again. Phew!

It could use some more polish, though. Some buttons and stuff are really hard to hit and require a few tries to correctly tap them. The weapon select should also be bigger like it was on the original Snails.. don't know why it's so small.
