Supose to only be 3 hours long right now until a content update comes out, if it's still at the low 1$ price buy it like the rest of usbilly.sea said:Is Underworlds a good game, or is it a good game for iPhone standard?
I remember playing Untold Legends on the PSP, people liked it because the expectation on the PSP was low, but I didn't like it that much.

PhlivoSong said:The iPhone is a weird platform to recommend games for because so often price is a factor. I've played it twice and didn't enjoy the experience either time. I really don't think Underworlds is a good game at all, but for $1 why not try it out?
Kodiak said:Still, even with all thsoe things, theres something about playing games on the iphone that keeps them from being particularly memorable or replayable. It might be because I very rarely get to play with the audio ON or the screen at full brightness, it might be because there just aren't that many "AAA" games yet. But I know there hasn't been more than a couple of games that have glued me to my seat for very long.

DoctorWho said:Isn't this just waiting for iPhone 3.0?
Audiosurf will be released some time after OS 3.0 is released (so after WWDC, some time after June). It's not really an interesting game if it can't access your iTunes lib, and only OS 3.0 will allow that.Zeliard said:And where's Audiosurf?

Bejeweled 2 has stolen my life. It's so fantastically produced and bug-free, great attention to the little details (like the landscape view for instance).
Other favorites:
-Tiki Towers: Great 'World of Goo' type clone with a completion/collection twist.
-Edge: Intelligent Cube meets Marble Madness. Perfect.
-Reflexion: New take on the tried and true Ball Breaker formula. I just wish you could swipe both directions![]()
The iPod Touch still is the best piece of technology I've ever owned. Even better with every new firmware.
Anyhow guys, see you around. Good to be back, sorry I was such a dick last year I was going through some really tough shit. Learned my lesson, I won't ever backseat mod or freakout like that again I really went overboard.
Hope you all have had some good gaming experiences since we last spoke!![]()

I personally don't like Drop7 at all, but it's regarded pretty well around here.ColR100 said:Got my iPhone this weekend.
I haven't been too sure of what to buy gaming wise so far, so took the safe choice of buying Peggle and also along with that Drop7.
These are cool yeh? :lol

I didn't know about MGS until a couple weeks ago... and had no clue about Crystal Defenders until last month. I'm falling behind, I had no idea my phone had become such a viable gaming platform!
Just trying to decide which version of Crystal Defenders to get now: XBLA has achievements, but iPhone has portability... but I hear the controls aren't very suited to iPhone... though they keep updating the iPhone version. Dunno if the XBLA game has gotten any updates. Definitely no on the 3-part $24 Wii version though :lol
Guys, never do business with Armor Games. Do not support them. Do not buy Shift. I'm serious. They emailed me about making games based on my Three Hundred project. They stopped emailing and Shift shows up and their website two months later, with no credit to where the idea originally came from. They are the sleaziest, most immoral people on the internet - and that's saying something.Bamihap said:

This is an optical illusion. Depending on how you look at it, it is either a white candle stick against a black background, or two black faces in profile speaking against a white background. It is the perfect illustration of the concept of negative space, or how the space not occupied by an object has a form too, and occasionally its own image.

Armor games make all those flash games we see around the place right? They have copied tons of ideas before so no surprise here, anything you can do about it btw?Sqorgar said:Guys, never do business with Armor Games. Do not support them. Do not buy Shift. I'm serious. It's not so much that they copied the idea - it's been copied plenty, believe me. It's that the head of Armor Games contacted (through a $5 PayPal donation) to discuss making games for them. After two or three emails back and forth with Daniel McNeely, he stopped emailing me back. That was September 2007. Shift came out in February 2008. I just find the whole thing so distasteful and immoral.Diablohead said:Armor games make all those flash games we see around the place right? ice said:Thank you everyone for your feedback! It's very much appreciated. My name is Isaac Shepard. I work for Reflexive Entertainment and developed Music Catch. I also wrote the music in the game.
We originally launched Music Catch as a web game around a year ago. It was very well received, even though it contained only one song and didn't have any other features. Around a month or so later we released the PC/Mac download version of Music Catch. Among other things, the download version added the ability to play your own music from your computer.
A few months ago we started the process of creating Music Catch for the iPhone. The original design was to base it off of the original Music Catch web game. While the iPhone version was still being developed, we released Music Catch 2, the next web game version. Music Catch 2 added many features, including more songs, the ability to play any song from a public URL, shape sets, patterns, smoother game play, more power-ups, etc.
Because we still wanted to get Music Catch out on the iPhone sooner than later, we decided to do what we could to add features from Music Catch 2 to the iPhone version. That is why the iPhone version looks more like Music Catch 2 than the original Music Catch. It could really be considered Music Catch 1.5.
That said, Music Catch is now out for the iPhone (with many thanks to Lemon Team who helped port it to the iPhone). A lot of hard work went into making it, and we do feel it is a better version than the original Music Catch web game. Still, we hope to improve upon it and publish game updates and new features. I updated the game details on iTunes to reflect this, but it doesn't look like it has posted yet.
Also, I added a note to the game details on iTunes to explain why we can't use the user's music on the iPhone for the game. Even though the PC/Mac download version can play MP3's on the players computer, Apple didn't make this possible for developers to do... developers don't have access to the actual music data. In the new OS3 coming out, Apple added features to control playing music from the iPhone, but they still don't allow games to analyze the music data. That means that if we want to allow the user to play their own music, we would have to do something more akin to what we are doing already for the Music Catch 2 web game.
Anyway, I just want to say thank you again to everyone here and I hope that you enjoy the game!
Stoney Mason said:Here is a worrying post from the forum over at Touch Arcade from a dev. This is related to a game currently in the app store that is a fun port of a flash game but it is hampered by its inability to not have access to your music library and not having a big enough dedicated library of its own at least in the current version. The worrying part indicates that this will not be remedied by 3.0 which a lot of the media covering the iphone scene had immediately jumped to the conclusion that this would indeed be possible. I bolded the important part of his post and posted the bit from the actual page of his app. Very disappointing if true. I know a lot of people were very excited about audiosurf potentially coming but I was more happy that it would open up the possibility of a whole different new genre of games and apps. Apple is missing a killer app if this is true and unless there is such a completely unsolvable technical limitation in the way this is very annoying.
PhlivoSong said:Solely in terms of music games I've never actually played one that made playing "with" my music fun. For other apps I'm sure there could be some interesting uses for analyzing audio, but for games it really doesn't bother me that this functionality isn't included. What I'm looking for the most in 3.0 is functionality that allows me to browse my music library and change songs right from inside the game I'm playing.
