I fugging love this game. Loved it on PC, love it on iPhone. But I need an endless mode and my zen garden!

Can't....stop....playing.....

This should probably go in the other thread, but what is everyone's favorite word game?

I already own Word-Fu, Word Jong, and of course Word Ace.

A few modes are lost. The Zen Garden is a no show, as are the endless modes.

It does suffer from framerate issues when the shit hits the fan

Other than that, its an amazing port
I didn't have any slowdown at all. 3GS here.

Does Scrabble count? I play that about all day every day. I have four or five games going against Facebook buddies, and just have to watch for the push notification for when it's my turn to word up. Great fun.

I am actually looking for a single player game, thanks.

my friend has a screen protector on his iphone but it looks like you're looking through gasoline when viewed from slight angles. i want to avoid that. :P

May I recommend Bookworm, it's a Pop Cap game... gets really hard after a while.

I use the casemate 'naked' case, which does a great job of protecting. Problem is when I take the phone out to use naked, it usually has a few more microscopic scratches along the backside than before... I only recommend it if you NEED protection, otherwise look into a Silicon/softer case, which is what I plan on doing. Let me know what you get.

I liked Wurdle. textropolis was also addicting for a while. They're not as good as the ones you listed, imo, but they're still worthwhile.

I forgot to mention I have that one, too.

I think this screen protector thing is an enormous scam. I'm sure people will contradict me, but I've had iPhones since the day they came out. I'm on my 3G now, which is now 21 months old, and it doesn't have a scratch on the screen. The back is a bit scuffed in places but the screen is just perfect still, and that's after having been in a pocket with coins, keys, wallets, headphones; in the bottom of bags; dropped a few times. My wife's 3G - 12 months old - had no scratches either. She uses a case that's essentially a slip-sleeve, cheap as hell. Nothing you can do intentionally - use etc - will scratch the screen. They're nothing like other touch-screens that might have that sort of wear and tear. Get a case like this with nothing else and you should have - assuming you don't hurl the thing around - no problems...

The only reason to get a screen protector, imo, is for an anti-glare version. eliminates fingerprints and makes it easier to use outdoors. (even this is less important with the 3gs and the oleophobic coating)

the glass screen of the iPhone is super sturdy, as you said.

I am always amazed when I see people on public transportation and their screen is half spider-webbed.

It's very hard to do. I've had two iPhones for almost 3 years and never had a scratch.

I can only assume you have knives for fingers. Fingernails definitely don't scratch it.

Yeah, I know. I don't understand what people do to scratch these things. Mine had been dropped onto gravel and didn't get even a tiny scratch.

Well, get yourself a case that does the back/sides/button etc, but be wary of screen protectors, especially if there's a chance of them getting dirty/damaged; they can be nightmares to get off. Oh, and make sure you get a black one; the white ones can show marks up something horrific.

Nobody has mentioned it thus far, but the guy who made Unify has a new game out called Bit Pilot.
It looks like an interesting take on the bullet dodging genre with cool pixel art and a soundtrack from chiptune heavyweight Sabrepulse.

Also, for today only, Eco Punk is free.

I haven't played either yet, but thought some of you would want to know.

you’ll need to get a program for your PC or Mac (use Google to find one) that can read your music library on your iPod touch and copy it to your hard drive.

then take this music, move it back into iTunes and then resync your iPod with this new library.

I've had each incantation of iPhone since release, taken care of them all the same and I finally ended up with a few razor like scratches on the screen of my 3Gs :( I baby them. So it's not really that hard. Just bad luck. It's heartbreaking.

i started to enjoy my ipod so much more (and it was so much more comfortable to carry) those many many years ago when i ditched all forms of casing, protective covers, screen protectors, etc. etc. etc. dsfdf

Really? My 3GS has scratches on the back, and a few on the chrome frame, but the screen has nothing at all.

Woah, Radio Flare 2 was released? Anyone try it yet?

I'd like to know...I liked the idea of the first but it was kind of boring when the excitement wore off, not sure if I want to jump in to part 2 yet.

I want Rayman, but I'm hearing control and save annoyances, so I'll wait for an update first.

Hey guys, Blast Off is now available on iPhone!

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/blast-off/id356994310?mt=8

We're excited to release it as its our very first iPhone game and definitely a worthy one. The game has been out on other platforms previously, although this version has full online functionality iwth OpenFeint for global leaderboards. It also has touch screen control which works great and some have said is even better than traditional controls.

In addition to the other versions, the iPhone Blast Off has a new Endless mode, where astronauts, fuel and air supplies continuously spwan and you have to survive as long as possible.

You can find it simply by searching for Blast Off and it should pop right up:

As am I. Bit Pilot looks pretty cool

Which chiptune artists do you work with?

Agreed! Though the phone's pricetag/monthly fees beg casing.

Space Miner was just updated, it seems.

I generally don't like to cover things up, except in transport. I only use a microfibte sleeve so I don't get pocket lint in the ports.

Sabrepulse did the music for Bit Pilot? Instant purchase.
Will play later :)

Bit Pilot controls really well for a bullet hell game on the iPhone. You basically swipe to get some momentum going in that direction, and can swipe opposite the direction you're going to slow down. The whole screen takes the input, so you can double thumb it. Almost trackball like.

Does it control like Marble Madness then? It kinda looked liked it from a video I just watched.

HOLY SHIT o_0

Ok, they already did Mushihime Sama for cellphones but still... wow. Instant purchase, even if the controls will probably be crap.

Has the GeoDefense Swarm update been mentioned yet? It now allows level pack purchases, the first of which is 5 med/5 hard levels for 59p ($.99?)

You also get 1 med level for free.

As per usual with the Geo games, I find medium harder than hard :lol
