Haven't bought anything for my Touch in a while so today I went on a spree and bought Phoenix Wright, Swords & Poker 2 and Cubed Racer and they are all awesome!

I hate Cubed Rally Racer. I dunno.. the controls or something - I just don't like it.
Yeah I read about the controls...they're what's keeping me from the game. It turns in 45º increments rather than gradual turning...like uh, every other isometric racer I can think of. I saw in the Touch Arcade thread the dev mentioned something like "once you get used to them, they're not too bad." Doesn't exactly sound a ringing endorsement!

Splinter Cell Conviction is up on the app store, so I picked it up.

I've only played the first level so far and I really like the presentation, the graphics look nice and it also has those on screen indicators from the next gen versions telling you what your objectives are and where to go.

Controls aren't that great though, it uses the typical virtual buttons and analogue sticks which I can't say I've ever really liked or gotten used to.

The AI is laughably bad, there were three guys on the boat in the first area and one of them spots me and yells "Die Fisher!", we had a shootout while the other two guards just ignored us.

It costs £5.99 in the UK and I can't say I would recommend it to anyone especially for that price.

EDIT: Oh and I almost forgot there is no crouch button in the game, the only way you can hide is by running around in the dark or getting into cover.

graphics look pretty good, better than FIFA at least. i'm not sold on the idea of accelerometer controls, but they did great work on wii so here's hoping...

There are traditional control methods as well.

Saw this as well:

Reg licenses: we will be comparable to the PSP.
Reg graphics: wait until you see the animations. There are about 100 animations for player and goalkeepers in the game.

What's the best Texas Hold 'Em game for iPhone? I tried the WSOP one and it was pretty good, but I'm wondering if there's anything better.

Crash Nitro Kart 2 is rather good, never played the original but this version has a ton of stuff to do but you have to unlock it all first.

Not the biggest fan on some of the tracks though, they are way too cramped or not suited for tilt controls very well, but worth it's asking price.

I gotta say i'm enjoying old-school games like Prince of Persia Retro and Karate Champ more than SFIV, GTA, NOVA, Hero of Sparta or any of those more polished titles on the App Store. Wish Paperboy were still available...

Just took an online survey, and it had questions about the following games as coming out:
• A Spiderman game (title TBD, a few of the survey questions were about the title - all the options were angry and full of rage. Seems like some sort of brawler. The engine looks like Gameloft's, which is weird, because I didn't think they worked with the Spiderman IP)
• A sequel to Modern Combat: Sandstorm (again, questions about the exact title - of the options, I liked Thunderstorm the best. Takes place in 3 parts of the world with 3 different soldiers.)

Then, a hands-on preview/video from Touch Arcade:

Very excited to get this game out the door. :)
A week ago we reported that not only is Adult Swim's Robot Unicorn Attack coming to the iPhone, but they also planned to have it on the App Store by the 1st of June for $2.99. Well, thanks to the magic that is Apple's approval process, their launch date has slipped to simply "June,"
This is the worst news ever.

Agreed. But why do we NEVER see the white jumpsuit version of PoP when they release the "classic" version? I love it.

I just spent about 20 minutes with assault squadron and I love it, solid 60fps on my 2g touch and just on normal it was bullet hell by the 2nd boss :lol :D buy it now so awesome.

Well, I can tell you that it's been submitted to the App Store so you won't have to wait long. It was just a matter of not promising a day if it might not make it.

How long has Phoenix wright been on the store? I didn't even know.

Hopefully they bring the others out as well.
Don't buy it. It requires you to be online all the time, the game is streamed from Capcom's servers.
Yes, it's a travesty.

EDIT: Oh wait, looks like it doesn't! I guess it was just for Japan, then.

Having never played Phoenix Wright before except for one brief case of the third one, buying this one was a no-brainer. Hope we'll get the next ones as well.

I wanted to replay it, saw it's just 4 euros and it's apparently the whole package, so I bought it again.

That seems like a weird thing to just be in the Japanese version. Where did you hear that?

It's definitely not in this version though. Played the game on the bus back home yesterday on my Touch, so I definitely wasn't connected online in any way.

Some previews said that. Luckily I can confirm, too, that no connection is required, so they either changed their mind or it just happened in Japan. The game is 90 MB by the way.

Quick impressions after playing part of the first case: it's Ace Attorney 1, one of the best adventures out there.
Graphically it looks identical to the DS version, except an extremely ugly interface (I'll elaborate more later) and a different position for the text (below the graphics with a solid dark background instead of overlaying the art with a half-transparent bg, which is good because it allows you to see more).
The game offers the option to tilt your iPhone/iPod to browse your court records, but I promptly disabled that from the beginning so I can't say how well it works. You can also finally save without quitting, another welcome novelty.
But, boy, the new interface is ugly. The orange buttons are ugly by themselves, and don't mesh at all with the old interface (still present for the Court Records and confirmation messages). It's also less intuitive, you need to keep one of the two icons on screen pushed to make the available actions appear (thus far, Court Records/Save+Settings on the left or Press/Present on the right). The interface seemed also to suffer some unexplicable slowdowns on my Touch 3G when switching graphics. No clue why, the game is all but heavy on resources.
The iPhone/iPod screen makes the sprites look clean, but the text is really small. So, if your eyesight isn't that good, get ready for some headaches as the game is heavily text-based.
All in all, more than decent conversion of an awesome game. And for its price, only €4 in Europe, it's a damn steal. From what I've seen thus far, the DS version looks still superior though.

I've never played Phoenix Wright before, so I downloaded it. Seems like a pretty good game, but I don't understand how I was supposed to know the Passport was a valuable piece of evidence in the 1st Case.

I know the game has been out for a long time but maybe spoiler stuff like that for people that haven't played it yet but are planning to get this one.

Like me.

Assault Squadron looks pretty sweet, I think I'll pick it up. Love me some shmups.
I completed it on easy, 6 levels long but it's real bullet hell on hard, unlockable ship and arcade mode too. Best thing about it is that it's rather well made, something quite a few app's lack.

Hey everyone, just wanted to draw your attention to my game Doodle Find! It's a fast and frantic game where you have 90 seconds to find as many objects as you can. It's tougher than it looks and has world and friends leaderboards via Facebook Connect.

It's been #1 in Australia all this week (finally got knocked off yesterday by ... Grand Theft Auto - so I don't feel too bad). Been #1 in Singapore, Hong Kong. #2 in Austria, #3 in Germany and the UK. Doing really well in most other countries.

I'm sure quite a few of you would have played it already and can testify to it's mysterious powers of addiction, but the game hasn't been doing as well in the US and Canada as I would like, so I hope you can all check it out.

It's FREE, so no cost of entry. Pretty please, click - play - enjoy!

Matt

Its because the passport
shows the location of the holiday that Cindy went on; so you have to assume that she took the statue/clock with her and set it to Paris time and this is why it reports the murder at the wrong time.

Fucking hell... that's a pretty big assumption.
