the only part of the song that i really hate is the "system overlooooad" effect. i also dont like how he sings the chorus in the studio version, he hits a different note, sounds weird.

After listening to "swagger like us", I think this auto-tune thing is annoying.
Man, Swagger like us gets caught in my head sometimes, and then I put it on and I get to Lil Wayn'es verse and I have to shut it off. So fucking horrible . :[

auto-tune is not for kanye or lil wayne. it fits t-pain just fine... but those two sound great without it and should seriously reconsider this bullshit trend.

I've listened to Love Lockdown a bit more. It's so frustrating, I think there's a pretty good song under all that bullshit. I just can't take the song seriously when I hear the chorus. The verses are just about bearable, but then it's fucking stupid.

Man I really hated this song at first, but it's grown on me. Is it suppose to sound low quality, I have it at a high bit rate and it still sounds "off"

I can't wait for the album - I love Kayne's music, his shit attitude has to go though.

Yes I couldn't agree more. That being said I like Swagger Like Us although I must agree in saying that everyone on that track is capable of much better except for TI. And the new version of Love Lockdown is much better than it was before IMO.

fyi, kanye released, well, pretty much the pro tools session of the track...meaning, every single thing in the song split up. the vocals, and each instrument, etc.

so if you want the instrumental, u can combine all the instrument files, or if u wanna make a remix with the vocals, just take the vocals, or if u wanna make ur own mix take a few of the instruments, etc...

update op if you want

:lol Omg, Kanye is actually better.

Why would you say that as if it's surprising the original version of a song is better?

Imm0rt4l said:
no he didn't

He produced "Little Weapon". Definitely one of the best on the CD.

Apparently the video for "Love Lockdown" premieres this week.

Take out Kanye (vocals and all) just leave in the instrumental and the African dancers and it would make a MUCH better video.

Are those pan flutes providing the beat, starting at 30 sec in? Not sure I like it. I think it needs a bit more oomph.

the autotuning seems to be reserved for only the chorus vocals, though.

meh, not bad. maybe it'll grow on me. I started off not liking Love Lockdown but now, i don't know why, I'm totally hooked on it.

That snippet is hot. Kanye is having an album listening event in LA on Tuesday (invite only) and when did that last year for Graduation, he asked the crowd to pick a song to "leak" to the public (they chose "Barry Bonds"). Fingers crossed he does that again.

I dont know why he seems intent on singing through auto-tune. He has a nice voice anyway.

I really like "Love Lockdown" but I dont want an album filled with songs exactly like it. Heartless has almost the same structure (auto-tune and sparse instrumentation & beats)

dude, im thinking he's going to be singing on every song and using autotune cause he can't really sing...thus t pain's involvement, helping him with keying the autotune correctly most likely.

Fingers crossed they don't pick like, the worst song on the album again.

Yeah I understand that but I mean on this particular track, in my opinion it sounds like Kanye has a better voice than Patrick even though he is a rapper. (he is using auto-tune)

There are many opportunities in the song for Patrick to show his singing prowess but it just comes off as forced and sounds like he's trying too hard.

There's many remixes that are better than the original though.

the beat is awesome, his rapping sucks, so yeah, the story of his life repeats itself. but anyway, much better than love lockdown.

really feeling that "Heartless" snippet. i just hope the studio version is as good as the live, and isnt a repeat of the inferior love lockdown studio version.

I don't get why Kanye keeps trying to reinvent himself when he doesn't need too. His albums have got progressively worse. His first cd was amazing, and definitely had it's own vibe. The second was good, still had it's own vibe, but not as great. The third was still good, but his weakest yet in my opinion. And this album is completely turning me off from what I've heard so far.

I'm trying to understand the meaning behind love lockdown in relation to the video. Anyway I agree with the people that are complaining about the auto tune thing. I like love lockdown but it could have been better without it I think.

Kanye Premieres 808s & Heartbreak at Weird L.A. Party
Teams with Lykke Li for N.A.S.A. track

Someone from The FADER made their way to a listening party for Kanye West's forthcoming 808s and Heartbreak at Los Angeles' Ace Gallery last night. To the surprise of no one, the whole affair was very lavish, and totally weird. Things went down in a stark room packed with 40 naked ladies-- wearing masks ostensibly made of fake lamb's wool, obviously-- who were backlit by glowing lights as the music went on. The evening's visual portion was designed by Italian artist of note Vanessa Beecroft, and Mos Def, will.i.am, and Rick Ross were all reportedly in attendance [via Idolator].

As for the album, 808s and Heartbreak apparently has Mr. West singing in his beloved Auto-Tune on virtually every track, and features a relatively pared-down selection of guests, with cameos from Young Jeezy (not singing, we imagine) and Lil Wayne (who knows anymore). As the title might suggest, it's a breakup album, with the exception of closer "Coldest Winter", which is about Kanye's late mother Donda West. The Fader report likens the sound of the disc to that of "ADULT. or Thom Yorke solo, with the dispassionate electro beats playing against the plainspoken ache of the vocals." Well all right then.

West then showed up as things were winding down to note that 808s and Heartbreak concerns "emotional nakedness," that the album is "about the freedom to do what you want to do," that Auto-Tune is "the most fun thing ever," and that he'll be issuing another new LP in June. Perhaps he will rap on that one.

808s and Heartbreak, whether you're ready or not, hits stores November 25 from Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam. Kanye, meanwhile, hits the road on Friday for the first of many fall tour stops.

And finally, one more intriguing Kanye tidbit: Lykke Li is set to join Kanye on his contribution to N.A.S.A.'s batshit forthcoming LP, according to a report on Swedish blog PSL confirmed by N.A.S.A.'s publicist. The track is reportedly still in the works.

because he makes music that he wants to make. i dont think hes necessarily trying to reinvent himself, so much as just do what he feels like. hes gone through the loss of his mother and his breakup, this album seems fitting. and im liking heartless, hopefully the mastered is even better.
