I don't get why Kanye keeps trying to reinvent himself when he doesn't need too. His albums have got progressively worse. His first cd was amazing, and definitely had it's own vibe. The second was good, still had it's own vibe, but not as great. The third was still good, but his weakest yet in my opinion. And this album is completely turning me off from what I've heard so far.
For some people, t's unsatisfying, and somewhat depressing, to recreate the same thing continuously.

I love Heartless.:D Another one your album on is going to be on my shelves, Ye'. Kanye is having fun on this album, some may dislike it and some may not but its good to see him push quality music out still.

the beat to Heartless is so fucking good. damn, i'd love to hear someon like Joe Budden rip it. but on a full studio version, not some mixtape track. i even like the chorus, but the rapping is probably Kanyes worst ever, and that's quite an achievement.

West then showed up as things were winding down to note that 808s and Heartbreak concerns "emotional nakedness," that the album is "about the freedom to do what you want to do," that Auto-Tune is "the most fun thing ever,"

Jesus. I guess in a way Kanye has always been more about skills in production and beats than any type of vocal skills, but the this auto tune crap is crossing the line for me. His rapping was passable but this singing is atrocious, with auto tune making it only slightly bearable. Every time I here these snippets of his tracks I just wonder why the hell he just doesnt get a real singer to do these vocals. Worse yet, these songs seem to focus on the vocals and showcase them, as if there was anything there to showcase.

Bah. I know I will be bumpin to some of these songs in a club soon, but this will probably be the first Kanye cd that doesnt end up on my shelf

im sorry, are you asking why he doesnt get a singer to sing these tracks? maybe because...its his song? the whole album is going to have singing, why would he want to have someone else sing them? ur taking his singing too seriously. hes not trying to sound like john legend. hes just trying to put out a different emotion through his singing.

i personally dont even mind his regular singing and would rather have that then this much autotune. listen to hey mama, his singing isnt good...but it works.

I saw a concert from before Graduation came out on MTV Jams. It was the song with the Adam Lavine. He said "I can't sing."

well first of all, Heard em Say is probably a much harder song to sing than anything on his new album. second, thats what autotuning is for...

Thats not my point. If you can't sing you can't sing. Don't use something to cover up the fact that you can't sing.

ok..but hes not really covering up that fact. hes just making himself tolerable to listen to. its different if he was trying to be some awesome singer, but hes not. hes just using autotuning and its pretty obvious.

Ok WTF is this shit? when did Kayne turn into TPaine? and what's with the over use of that annoying high pitch "computer" sound all these so called R&B singers used, what are you doing?

I know I am LLTP here but I was a big fan of Graduation and the other shit, but so far that Love song and Hearless are keeping me far away from this one. Such a dissapointment right now.

I've heard his recent songs from the "Kanye's Universe" mixtape.
Way too much auto-tuning in the voice.

I thought it was refreshing when he did it for Jeezy's "I Put On", and kind of strange when he rapped that way on "Swagger Like Us", but a whole album you say?

Mehhhhhhhhh...
Pass

It's bad enough Lil' Wayne does it on every song now.

saying Auto-Tune is "the most fun thing ever," is about on par with being in love with a stripper.

Blah. No one can handle an artist trying something new.

He has another album coming in June. I'm sure that'll be rap.

i love when artists try new shit, but auto-tune is NOT NEW.

he's jumping on the back of an already tired trend. this is kanye... he doesn't have to do that.

i loved it when common tried something new with EC... hated when he dumbed it down w/ his last two albums. i love when artists experiment.

edit: and i love when kanye sings. funny.

Have YOU heard Heartless?

Kanye wasn't going to release a hip hop CD this year anyways, hopefully he does next year.

It's supposed to be coming out in June as said.

Track list for 808s & Heartbreak:

1. "Welcome to Heartbreak" (Kanye West)
2. "Heartless" (Kanye West) 3:33
3. "Love Lockdown" (Kanye West) 4:31
4. "Robocop" (Kanye West)
5. "Anyway" (Kanye West)
6. "Streetlights" (Kanye West)
7. "Say You Will" (Kanye West)
8. "Bad News" (Kanye West)
9. "Amazing" (featuring Young Jeezy)
10. "Tell Everybody That You Know" (featuring Lil Wayne)
11. "Coldest Winter" (Kanye West) 2:42

The Wiki has been updated quite a bit since I last looked at it; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/808s_&_Heartbreak

It's been confirmed he is using auto-tune on EVERY track. :(

Yeah, this will be the first Kanye album that I don't buy. Just not feeling the style of this album from what I've heard. Which makes me a little sad because I really like Kanye.

The auto-tune thing isn't that bad, damn. Always with the complaints. I really don't find anything wrong with it. Also, the fact that one of his songs is Robocop just gets me more excited.

Heartless Mastered version leaked?:

Well here's the story behind this "Heartless" Mastered version. The person who dropped it off in my inbox works for Warner Bros. Records, and the track was passed down to him via a connect @ Power 106. The person states the changes to the track. You be the judge..because there isn't much of a change. Check it out & enjoy.

"..Vocals were boosted...vocoder was increased, JB touched up on the Keyboard.."

am I the only person in the world who likes his use of auto-tune?

Nah, auto-tune is definitely overused, but I don't even care. It sounds cool. It's fun to listen to. It's fun to use when you're recording (which is what Kanye meant in that interview). And Kanye uses it very well.

Edit: "Coldest Winter" is awesome and really kind of beautiful.

It's so refreshing to see a hip hop artist go against the mold. Not by using auto-tune, obviously, but a song like this is not exactly mainstream hip hop.

But I completely understand why this album may not be for everyone.

I saw him live yesterday. It was definetely, hands-down, the best concert Ive ever been to.

He talked a bit about the new album and sang Heartless and Love Lockdown, which are like 100x better live than on the studio versions. I dont like Heartless at all but it kinda makes sense when he sings it live.

Edit: Coldest Winter is quite nice.

Yeah, Coldest Winter is my fave so far. Kinda touching how it's dedicated to his mom; though I wish it was longer. Awesome outro for the album.

Now I want more. Leak some more MThanded Kanye!
