...Dead.
The top word is "Left", the time is 4, and the bottom word is "Dead".

It says LEFT and DEAD - it's just covered with mud. And look what time it is. :lolDoytch said:I can't make it out... I think the second word says "Lead"?

Just to clarify, that rules out the use of pipe bombs and molotov cocktails as well right? My initial assumption was that pistols were the only guns you could use, not weapons in general.
I did that one, but I read afterward that you can use weapons that can be thrown.Loxley said:Quick question regarding the Akimbo Assassin achievement, the one that requires you to complete an entire campaign using only pistols. Can you melee with the other weapons?Blizzard said:You can use single pistol, double pistol, molatov, and pipe bomb. I think you can shoot gas cans etc. The things you CANNOT do are shoot other weapons (I think you can hold them), and shoot the mounted guns (which messes some people up).

I kind of like it. Most stories in games are fucking terrible, anyway. I think most of L4D's "story" is best left unsaid.elguerosinfe said:i understand that they constructed the game as they did for a reason, but I really wish that L4D had a coherent story to connect the different episodes. Bioshock's approach of using the environment to tell the story would probably be the best way to do the narrative in L4D. The writing on the wall is a nice touch, for example. Maybe they can add environments that have special meaning for the characters, like Louis' office building or Francis' favorite biker bar. Maybe they can add radio broadcasts to give some background to what is going on. And scenes that can tell a horrifying story all by themselves (like an incinerator at the hospital overflowing with bodies, or the bodies of a family boarded up inside a house, all with a single bullet wound to the head).fallout said:I kind of like it. Ahahaha, so I was a Tank, and I got up to the roof, punching the Bill player (Straza) off the ledge and all that kinda crappy stuff, and I guess I then knocked 2 players off the map, so I decided that it was kind of lame for those guys to lose like that, so I helped Bill up! To punch him and incapacitate him again in a hit. But Zoey was knocked down by then too.
So it does work, kind of funny, the other team was angry at the knockoffs though. :lol
Yep, I've done it several times just to fuck with people after we've already won.Zzoram said:A tank can help a survivor up?!?!

Yeah. It's amazing that Valve hasn't patched something like this yet.Zzoram said:How do you do it? Press E?
CrookedRain said:Yeah. It's amazing that Valve hasn't patched something like this yet.
Ditto, this isn't something that can give the Infected players much advantage anyways (aside from raising people just to knock them off the building, but you're exposing yourself to fire while pulling it off).Zzoram said:I hope they don't, it's hilarious :lol
Red Scarlet said:You can help up a survivor as any of the special types, I've tried it as others before, but only got it to go all the way w/ a Tank. It's almost like a 'mercy play' or 'taunt'.
Blocking the exit/path of levels with cars is kind of mean. He couldn't get to it until I punched a car out of the way. :lol

What I'm talking about is that you do the same thing over and over again on every stage in every campaign. You've pretty much seen everything the game has to offer strategy wise in any one campaign. The only variety seems to be the stages. Again I'm not exactly saying this makes the game broken or not fun because I always have a blast playing it with friends but I really really wish they would have put more variety into the game. I almost feel sorry for those who have the 360 version because I don't see nearly as much replay value without the edition of a heavy amount of new mods, enemies, weapons, objectives and stages. I really hope valve continues to develop this game more heavily than past games because it desperately needs the content.Agyar said:What are you even talking about?
The problem is the strategy I developed on the very first 2 stages seems to work throughout the entire game! Don't tell me you guys are seeing tons of variety in the director AI because it remains very predictable on Hard difficulty. The game is fun as hell but it's still disappointing that the game lacks any real variety or new content as you progress through the game. Even the gun sets are more limited than I anticipated. What is a zombie game without a 45. Magnum or an rpg?TheOneGuy said:Congratulations you're developing strategies to play better!!!!!!

Startup time might be shortened but it is a multiplayer game, so you'll still have to wait for everyone to load up the game even if your system does it faster.freethought said:Does anyone know if there are any performance issues when running off the disc? I see L4D as Valve's new mutli-player centric series that doesn't rely on or even need a story to enjoy the game not unlike UT or TF. Half Life will always be their main story based game so concentrating on a multi-player experience with games like Team Fortress and now L4D is a great strategy to diversify their portfolio. They now have three AAA franchises HL, TF and L4D. Four if you count Portal.elguerosinfe said:i understand that they constructed the game as they did for a reason, but I really wish that L4D had a coherent story to connect the different episodes.
