Great story would read again.woxel1 said:So my friend is like, come join me in L4D, so I reinstall it from a backup, all excited -- wow, I bet they've improved versus and the community has probably become more welcoming. Well as soon as the game starts I'm dropped from a weird bug ("No Steam Login"), then when I rejoin we blow through the map and suddenly I'm on the other team. Attempts at communicating with my new teammates are met with mockery -- then I'm teamvoted out. Finally, I switch to TF2.
Just wait till you see the movie adaptation. They totally fucked it up.TheOneGuy said:Great story would read again.woxel1 said:So my friend is like, come join me in L4D, so I reinstall it from a backup, all excited -- wow, I bet they've improved versus and the community has probably become more welcoming. Botolf said:Alright, I've decided my orange map shall be reborn as a Survival map, recycling some of the more cooler areas such as the stairs and furnace. Stay tuned for newz.
In the future, I might use some of my other L4D campaign ideas as ideas for further survival maps (Bridge map, bunker map, etc).
In the learning process. I haven't really released anything yet, but I am learning lots of good stuff!SundaySounds said:do you make maps? I wasn't aware.
Possibly because Amazon felt like cutting the price on it to boost sales. Thankfully, you can buy that cheaper copy and have access to the downloadable version, too!Mr. Snrub said:Is there a reason why Steam is selling the downloadable game for $50, and Amazon has the boxed PC game for $26?

L4D Blog said:We recently updated the PC version of Left 4 Dead with some exploit fixes and Versus balancing. We are going to be releasing another small update later today that contains some server issue fixes and one small, but very large, gameplay adjustment. We have made a change to the melee mechanic in Versus and the soon-to-be-released Survival Mode.
Xbox 360 users will see these same gameplay changes in an update coming out with the DLC which, in case you missed the announcement, will be coming out April 21st.

Update released for 360 in Feb: http://left4dead411.com/news/2009/02/l4d-360-update/
So in general, any updates for PC past January 14 2009 will go to 360.. if they apply to 360.

There was a couple minor updates that the PC version got that are all coming at once on 360 next week right?
Tanks and hordes spawning every thirty seconds? More common infected kills in one round than an entire campaign? I can't wait.Volcynika said:

It's supposed to be free for 360 owners.RadarScope1 said:Down to a science.
What has Valve done in the past with 360 DLC? They do content free on PC, right? But do they charge on the console side?

I have like 5-6k left to kill for zombie genocidest. I think this will make them go down in no time.this guy said:Tanks and hordes spawning every thirty seconds? More common infected kills in one round than an entire campaign? I can't wait.
Melee fatigue will be active in Survival, so that might be a concern. I'll check the survival vids, see what damage the zombies deal.Concept17 said:This sounds better than I expected. I thought it was gonna be more like they mentioned in the beginning of the blog post and would simply get boring fast.
This should breathe a little life into the co-op aspect of the game for me, as I only play VS anymore.
I wonder - is this played at 'normal'? Or can you choose what difficulty?
Botolf said:The Survival videos seem to be playing on Normal.
syllogism said:Interesting, you can enable the hunter push ability by changing director_no_human_zombies to 1 after you've spawned as a hunter (or actually doesn't matter when you do it as long as you are playing infected). Pressing mouse1 when not crouching will then do the push attack.
