Whoa, don't you take such a bold stance now!

I just took down my first on Advanced. Took 1 pipe bomb pretty much up her ass, then 2 molotovs as I ran, then 1 she just ran through, and a shit ton of auto shotty shots, and she got me down and almost killed me.
Fucking brutal.

I had it pumped to maximum and it seemed to get really disorienting when things go bad. Am I just a noob, or is it easier when you turn it down? I've just turned it down to default and am thinking it should make things easier to play.

But do you think L4D has a chance to usurp Gears 2 on the XBL most played list? That's kinda what I'm implying.
Ferrio said:Witches aren't that bad imo, you can prepare for them if you need to fight them unlike other infected. Sure I'll avoid them if I have the chance, but they're no tank in terms of difficulty.
When me and my friends have to fight one, we all aim at her then count down and all start firing at once. Usually take her down before she gets to us. This is on expert.
advanced is much too easy, you can take 10+ hits from zombies or teammates before going down.ultron87 said:So I played both demos.
Two things: PC >>>> 360 version by like a million.
And advanced difficulty is definitely the way to play. Normal = much to easy, at least on the level in the demo. Playing on advanced and seeing the shit hit the fan in the room before the last safe room was amazing.
I like these ideas, apocalyptic is a bit much. Having to do headshots all the time isn't really going to fly when swarmed by assloads of zombies. It's supposed to be hectic.wayward archer said:There needs to be another difficulty level above expert. Maybe even 2.
Epic - 2 hits knocks you down
Apocalyptic - 2 hits knocks you down, zombies take no damage from melee and 1 damage from any non-head shots (still knocked back for both).
I know server operators can tweak settings to make it super hard on the PC version, but i'd still like to see more official difficulty levels.
I don't know the stats, actually. I'm just making the analogy Halo 3 : COD4 :: Gears 2 : L4D.Druz said:Is gears2 really the most played? Takes 10 minutes every time I want to find a game then dumps me back on my ass after the win to do a search for another 10 minutes.
In a fair world L4D would take the top spot, it's definitely good enough to do it. The only thing in its way is the XBL demographic![]()

Dabanton said:Whoa, whoa The 360 version is pretty good.
I've got both versions but will be getting it on PC as my machine can run it with everything on high plus the mods are going to be excellent.
But the 360 is no slouch in the visuals department.
Rlan said:Will this demo be only downloadable FROM Steam, or will other places also get the demo available for download?
I'm hopinh to et it from work, but it needs to be of a certain ISP's free download list.
To be fair, the thread started out pretty well with regards to the 360 version.Stoney Mason said:This is mainly a high profile PC title. There will be nothing but console shitting going on this entire thread. Get use to it.
For what it's worth I have a PC capable of playing it pretty well but the decision will come down to Xbox version or not at all.

And may I ask why you're not considering the PC version? Are most of your gaming friends on 360?
Shatai said:Great stuff, I was surprised to beat Expert for my first playthrough though. I am assuming there will be some tweaks. If you can aim, you'll really be a hero for your team.
Day one.
Fair enough. I'm only considering double-dipped on the 360 for a similar reason -- not "the community," but my real-life friends and just a few online buddies. My community experience on the PC has been amazingly fun though. PC-GAF is a great bunch. But I already knew that with TF2.Stoney Mason said:Pretty much. I prefer the community of Live over the PC experience despite its level of racists and kids.

And right now, there are nearly 15,000 people playing it, even though there is so much bandwidth still being used for downloads.

Akia said:15,000 is nothing. I wonder how high the number is going to get tonight. Overall I bet more people are going to download the demo through Live than Steam.
verio said:Well, the good thing is, is that every character is pretty likable. Some good voice acting and some great lines in this game.
Oh yeah, big time. PC version feels/looks great... 360 version, not so much.

you sure, the demo lasts 10mins but I have played it for 6 hours so far and lots of people played it for even longerdskillzhtown said:I doubt it. A few people I know who are XBL junkies feel like L4D is too shallow to get alot of people playing it for long. When I played the demo I thought it was fun, yet I did wonder about the staying power. I am going to buy the game, yet I do have reservations about how long I will play it until I get bored. Maybe the final game will ease my fears.

Too shallow for the Live crowd, eh?
