The Official Left 4 Dead Thread

So we're about to finish the subway level heading to the safe room. Bill is really far behind and the three of us are waiting for him. Bill dies by some hunter. Francis kills off Zoey for some reason. I then proceed to shoot Francis but I eventually end up lying on the ground shooting Francis and killing him off. :lol

teamwork is a must for this game so you will need one.
 
I keep thinking I've had enough of the demo, but I get an urge to play it and and it never fails to offer something incredible.

Just got out of a game, we were slowly heading through the long train carriage, everyone is hurt and full of doubt. Then a tank shows up just as we are about to leave, we head back into the carriage as it's the only option. Everyone is shooting and throwing molatovs, the tank disappears and someone shouts "Where the fuck is it?", someone else says "I think it's on the roof!". We all stop silent for a few seconds, we hear running over the carriage and we start blind firing through the roof, it lets off a battle cry (probably coincidence) and jumps down the other end and comes charging through knocking almost everyone down, Zoey got out and tried her best to limp away but the tank was having non of it, we were finished, but we put up a good fight. It probably doesn't sound anywhere near as awesome as it was, but this game is full of moments that make me think I'm in a cheap but awesome film.

the team I was on last night was great and had no mics took us an hour to get thro the subway on advanced but it was so much fun

Just played the 360 version, thanks to Gamestop for helping an aussie out :lol. To be honest I wasn't expecting a great deal from the 360 version after playing the PC version but besides the obvious graphical differences (AA, higher res, 60fps etc) on PC, the game plays just the same on 360. Valve have done a great job as usual, bravo.

Definitely fun. Just don't shoot as much as you like, and use the pistols often. Keep an eye out for team mates.

If you've played any sort of FPS on PC and are decent I suggest starting on Advanced.
 
Che, I have started up a Steam ID thread for L4D here, add yourself to our ever growing list of zombie hunters :D.

And the demo is freaking awesome, it gets better and better with each play through, unlike most demos you only play once.
 
I would love so dearly to play a different map, even just running around dust killing zombies pointlessly would be a nice change.
 
I'm pretty fucking annoyed with Gamestop, my 2 legit preorders never got a code, and then I even tried entering it on the website 2 days ago, and still no codes. Motherfuckers.

I nearly finished expert last night, we died downstairs under the final safe room to a tank. talk about a pain in the ass and intense.

I do wish however that the tank had a HP bar. Yes i know thats lame and all, but it would be nice to know how close you were to getting him down when you fail.

Has anyone played on international servers? I noticed a few gaffer's who i dont believe are located close (AUS) and i had green bars, server's were full so i never got to find out if the bars were full of shit.
 
Playing expert just now, limped into the first save room with two other survivors who were pretty injured themselves. Before I could close the door, a Smoker snatched me with his tongue and pulled me out.

Instead of rescuing me, my teammates closed the door and used the "strangle time" to heal themselves for the next round.
 
I'm having so much fun with this.

Gonna rip my Audigy 2 out of my old box and install it because for whatever reason I can't get Vista to recognize the Mic in port for my on board sound.

Is this a multiplayer session or are you playing with AI?
 
Damn you have to preorder to play the demo even for steam huh? I know i'm going to get the game but really wish they would've let the demo be free. Really want to try the game out with a good team of survivors.
 
Finally beat it on expert. After the door opened all the way and we had survived the waves of infected the guy playing Francis got vomited on by a Boomer upstairs. Had to kill the Boomer then light the gas can Francis was standing on just to survive.

At least 3 of us made it.
