NullPointer said:Played it single player on the 360 and yeah, have to agree with the lack of wow. The pacing feels like its controlled (which it is of course), but I didn't expect it to be so obvious - scattered zombies, then a massive vomit of the fuckers out of everywhere, followed by dead quiet. Rinse and repeat.
No close-up aim mode seems weird to get used to but is probably a godsend in this kind of game. Graphics seem a generation behind frankly, and there's a lot of clipping and walking through other characters going on. Lastly, the icons for picking up items are pretty weird too but I ended up getting used to it after a while.
All in all its decent, but I'm sure co-op is what brings this sucker to life. Just figured there would be more to it that I could glean from solo play.
Man, after playing Gears maybe I'm expecting for too much from other games right now.

Not saying the game is crap by any means - have had it pre-ordered since I heard the concept and Valve uttered in the same sentence, and am looking forward to the real deal getting delivered soon enough.
I'm positive of two things: 1. Co-op will bring this corpse of a game to frightening life, and 2. I'm probably going to end up team killing regardless of my best efforts - and I *never* hurt teammates in other games.
Just surprised by my first impression is all. I guess I expected the mayhem, but I also expected more physicality to the whole production. It feels floaty, and doesn't seem to fit as natural on the console as I expected it would.
This is damn easy to fix. Just don't include a single player mode in your game, or in your demo. Otherwise ya know, people might end up playing it and stuff.
I don't get it. Anyway, I'm glad your beast of a laptop is working now.Fox318 said:

Whose line is it anyway?ThaiGrocer said:I don't get it. Anyway, I'm glad your beast of a laptop is working now.
Test out your framerates with the following commands in game single player.
in console:
sv_cheats 1
god 1
bind g "give propanetank"
z_throwforce 19000
hit G and fire (MOUSE 1) a bunch of times against the wall closely and see how smooth it goes. :lol
Sorry, I didn't mean framerates exactly. It's just stressing out the source engine and your laptop. Propane explosion madness.Fox318 said:Whose line is it anyway?
Thanks for the help. STupid drivers.:lol :lol

obviously, hehe. Notice how I have no creativity. Must go through cvars when I have down time.Fox318 said:Oh I know lol. Saw that video on left4dead 411 did you?
To test you're skills spawn 13 witches and see how long you last after you give them 1hit kills and they sense you automatically.ThaiGrocer said:obviously, hehe. Notice how I have no creativity. Must go through cvars when I have down time.

I went into Singleplayer Normal first too, and it wasn't exactly that great... But when I entered co-op in Advanced, well let's just say I just clocked in my 17th hour.NullPointer said:Will do, and I'm sure you're right. Wish I tried it co-op first - there's not much to impress in single player alone. Hell, I didn't even know the game even had a single player mode.

I gave my first impression of Splinter Cell:CT's multiplayer after exploring the maps a couple times, too. Wasn't as awesome as people were saying.NullPointer said:First impression. Nothing more.
anyone?Costanza said:When can we start preloading this?
Obviously nobody here knows, but it'll be well before the release of the game. You know Gabe Newell and Doug Lombardi respond to their e-mails, right?Costanza said:anyone?
