Rules of the Movie Draft:

1. Everynight for 10 days straight at midnight eastern (12am), a new round starts.

2. You get to pick a movie once per day during these 10 days.

3. Once an movie gets picked, no one else can pick that movie.

4. Once you pick an movie by a certain director, you can no longer pick anything else from that said director. For example, you can't pick two Gus Van Sant movies. However, anyone else can pick another Gus Van Sant movie that has not been picked. Also if someone picks a director's cut or any other special cut or version, you can no longer choose the original cut; i.e. Blade Runner and its many different cuts.

5. No Anthology Movie Sets / Collector's Set / Short films.
Documentaries are ok.

6. If you miss a day, then the next day you can pick two movies. You can do this up to the final round which means you could technically not pick anything until the 10th day and then on the 10th day, pick 10 albums.

7. When you pick your movie, just write the movie's name and the director's name-Bolded. Please just post the name of movie and director if at all possible. If you're going to post a movie poster or movie cover art please resize them to a smaller size. No huge pics!

An example of a draft pick: What's New Pussycat - Woody Allen

See! It's easy!

8. There is no draft order so it is first come first served at midnight eastern (12pm). If you pick an movie that has already been picked, start a new post to pick another movie. No editing is allowed when picking movies.

9. At the end of the draft, a new thread will be made that is the tournament.

10. If you get banned for whatever reason you're automatically disqualified. Also if you don't have you list completed after 10-12 days (before the tournament thread) you will also be disqualified from the tournament.

11. If you pick something that doesn't fit the rules, we will just be like, "Dude, you can't pick that" and you can pick something else.

Again, thanks to AU for making the rules.

Ok so the draft starts tuesday at 12am-eastern time, sorry I couldn't start it today.

Again, pick the movies you think will help you win the tournament or just go with what you think will make a cool list. I recommend you vary your list and remember have fun.

shouldnt there be a randomly assigned draft order? i cant see this working that great if there isnt one.
Nope, that wouldn't be any fun, it's first come, first serve, a race to see that no one takes your pick.

also, your times are wrong. midnight and 12pm are different. the draft should have either (1) started by now because it is past 12am eastern midnight on monday, (2) will start tomorrow afternoon at 12 pm monday, or (3) start tomorrow at 12am (tuesday).

The draft starts Tuesday at 12am, sorry for error. I'm a mess today.
Good looking out cmonmanreally. :D

Is there really a need to limit choices by the same director? That made some sense for the music draft, but I'm not sure it does here. Also, it makes it harder to make spontaneous choices if I have to look up the director. :/ (I know, I know... IMDB)

Is there really a need to limit choices by the same director? That made some sense for the music draft, but I'm not sure it does here. Also, it makes it harder to make spontaneous choices if I have to look up the director. :/ (I know, I know... IMDB)
I rather have a one director pick, it will keep the list varied and it will prevent someone from hogging a director's films.

If listing the director's name is going to be a hindrance then don't do it. It's a Movie Draft--have fun. :D

My picks are gonna be known by everyone participating, I'm sure. Not a big deal, though. It'll be interesting to see what goes first round. I know what I'm going with for sure.

edit: Don't let people keep entering like the music draft did. Cut it off at 32.

He's going to let you join. I'm almost positive.

And I don't think anyone cares about the number of participants for some reason.
