What happened to Fantastic Mr Fox or has he just fallen off my radar.
He just dropped this last month and it's fantastic:

San'en EP
fantastic-mr-fox-san27en-ep-28201229-www-lylybye-blogspot-com.jpg

"Pascal's Chorus (feat. Alby Daniels)"
"Speak Nuh"
"San'en (feat. Alby Daniels)"
"Yesterday's Fall (feat. Alby Daniels)"

Any opinions of Jacques Green?
I love this gentleman.

"(Baby I Don't Know) What You Want"
"The Look"
"Another Girl"
"These Days"
"Ready"

Really liking his evolution. He's really toned the heavy R&B hooks down on this most recent EP. I absolutely love his sound, house/garage/2-step/r&b.

Also, speaking of Jacques Greene, he produced a track on Ango's free mixtape, Serpentine:

1. The Lie
2. Aquaphobia
3. Make it Count
4. Really Really
5. True Blue (Prod. by Jacques Greene)
6. Paralyzed (Prod. by Prison Garde & Eames)
7. Out Of Your System (Prod. by Kuedo)
8. Anchor (Prod. by Numan)
9. Losing You (Prod. by Mike Din)
10. Woman, Get Out Of My Life

Free Download from LuckyMe: http://ango.ca/

R&B meets Electronic. We need an R&B thread.

The Drum's Sense Net EP was just released on Mishka's free bandcamp label. Highly recommended.

They are having a split release party in NYC Friday with Supreme Cuts and Sich-Mang. Top 3 artists right there, if you are in the area no excuse.

You guys have to be the hardest working contributors to any one thread. It's just like three of you constantly posting and keeping stuff updated, very impressive.

How the hell did I just discover this topic? Good lord, I love all of you.

Anyway, seeing as most recent stuff I've discovered seems to have been posted in the last few pages, I'll go back a bit and recommend some labels I discovered recently that I think have been killing it:

SATURATE!RECORDS:

Recommend pretty much everything on this label. Glitchy, dubstep-ish, hip-hopish bassy music, lovely stuff. Pretty much the entire electronic genre spectrum is represented :p. Examples:

heRobust - Facebook Lift
Krampfhaft - Perfect Gain Structure
Subp Yao - Why
Subp Yao - Fuck Around
Pixelord - Modem

Tons of insanely good tracks on this label.

Lowriders Recordings:

Another awesome label, more of a harder edge to most tunes but the genres vary a lot. Some examples:

Doshy - DCU
Doshy - Plastic
Damscray - Real Street Stalkah
Halp - Field (Starkey Remix)
Hovatron - Supersoaker (Doshy Remix)

And as an added bonus, one of my recent most-played tracks. Very hip-hopish tune, loving the bass:

DZA - Finger Snaps
DZA - Finger Snaps (Shigeto Remix)

There used to be loads and I just lurked but now it seems only a few people, maybe less than 6 who actually post now :(

Sorry Lush I totally missed you had posted that lucky me free album :lol

Checking out the Dog Unit thing, no idea what to expect.

Holy crapadoodles, so much goodness in here to check out! I've been out of the loop for a bit... Got robbed at knifepoint at my job last week, so I've been dealing with that (not fun).

Can't wait to sit down and go through the last two pages. Just finished up a 5 hour set, so it's nap time.

Pixelord? Damscray? Dza? Yeah, someone finally picked up on how good Russian electronic music is!

Mujuice is my favorite by quite a bit. Thallus had a breakthrough this year in hip-hop, but Moa Pillar may have topped him as "most improved." http://fuselab.bandcamp.com/track/about-the-unskilled-worker http://fuselab.bandcamp.com/track/tristi-tropici

I think the former album and song are better, but the latter better captures what's unique about them. That traditional Russian melody combined with northeastern Russian/midwestern American (he's inspired by our Amerindian culture) instrumentation/harmony and thoughtful rhythm makes for moving listening, in my view.

As for Dza, I think Supershark is his best work.

It's kind of surprising this thread is so empty most of the time. I'm blaming the title, not as inviting/approachable as it could/should be.

Four Tet uploaded his mix for Diplo & Friends with TNGHT, no tags/320:

Yeah that was my thinking aswell, not to mention the OP being banned last I checked so if you click on this thread and try to read through its a total mess. People need to come in at this end and work back if anything haha.

Buddy showed me some Blawan and I really like him. Especially this track

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gjn2imBKr84

He needs to put out the full version of this song dammit.

Apparently there's an issue with clearing the sample? According to the comments anyway:

I asked Blawan at Field Day about this, he said this was getting the white label treatment...Much like 'Getting Me Down' because theres no chance they can clear that Fugees sample

"White label treatment", what does that mean?

Edit: I guess it means self released.

I think it means they will put it out on vinyl but it wont be "released" it just becomes avalible in records shops on the sly because if you sample a song and the sampley (made that up) says No you cant use it there are probably some copy write laws being broken.

I could be waaaaay off though.

Also Youtube links
Emot-argh.gif
stupid work blocking it.

<3

Russian producers are among the best in the electronic industry, I dare say. Insane quality in most productions.

As for DZA, I dig Supershark, but I personally like his Five-Finger Discount album the most. His most brutal beat is still in Planet Soap - Mommy (DZA Remix). So goddamn filthy.

Thanks for the other suggestions, will check them out.
