Yeah I agree Trummor is cool. I was bopping to it and it sounds so different I figured Spotify had shuffled me onto a different album.

Yeah it kinda comes out of nowhere on the EP. Very interested to see where this guy goes.

Weakest song on there too. The first two songs are bonkers. Sickly catchy.

ahhhh this track is so bubbly and happy reminds of the coleco rock the boat song

also 38 min to like 1 hour 20 min of the french express essential mix is like pure bliss

I aim to please... and surprise ;)

Is that referring to something I posted or someone else? I'm not sure what weird name I mentioned in my post :/

Was to post dubstep name further up. I just kept going back and editing my post thats all :)
Also got around the neogaf block at work and this site lets me go on youtube/soundcloud!

I thought it was shit.
I'm still listening to it, but I'm really shocked at how bad it is. I expected much more from him. Some really choice cuts on here, but the flow is all over the place and the mixing itself is surprisingly sloppy.

I'm only in it for the choice cuts, as most mixes sound like that to me, but I can stake wholeheartedly that I'm not a mix guy. The transitions seem pretty juicy to me, but whatever. I only really kept listening to one last year:

The Fader said:
Lately I’ve been smitten with the dainty, organic sounds released by Flau, the Japanese indie label run by Yasuhiko Fukuzono (who also records and DJs as aus). The records Flau releases are sonically quite diverse, from acoustic folk to dream pop and complex drum experiments. And though eclectic, never before has a label’s oeuvre come together to so closely sound the way a cherry blossom looks. This year Flau celebrates its fifth anniversary, and here Fukuzono has compiled an incredible mix showcasing some of their best tracks. A real headphone dream.

Is Mandy only getting big over there now?

Im about 2 paragraphs in and allready the person writting it hasnt got a fucking clue what they are chatting about. Back in the 90s people like Sasha and Digweed were playing to citys and whole citys spawned new genres of music.

Ill come back once ive finished it...

Edit: Done.
Ok so he has some idea
"I'm not sure you really "get it", though. I mean, I'm sure Levon Vincent, Terrence Parker, Juan Atkins and Kenny Dixon Jr get it. But the newbies don't."

Which is odd as ive seen all the stuff hes mentioned at every festival ve ever been to in the Uk.

Aw man its written by the guy that takes the piss out of everything, now I feel like ive been trolled :(

This did make me laugh though

Chicago and Detroit IS house and techno. Period.

And that article was fucking terrible. Only thing they have gotten right in that piece is that the vast majority of DJ's now are boring as fuck, cause the skill is gone.

It's Vice, par for the course. Their shit to gold ratio is not good.

BLOG BROS
Motherfucker, nobody wants to hear Alt-J on their birthday. Not even members of Alt-J want to hear Alt-J on their birthday. Yet there's always some guy (never a girl) who wants to hear "just one song" at a party. The reason he wants to hear this song is because he is under the mistaken impression that this will make him look cool. He reckons that people's ears will prick up like that bit when they play the Beta Band in High Fidelity, that the girls and cooler guys will come rushing to him and ask, "Just what IS this magical song you've parachuted into my life!?" And he will calmly reply: "Alt-J," with the unmistakable confidence of a man who knows what the fuck he's talking about.

Oh, how wrong he is. This man is only ever answered with the knees of the dancers stiffening up in confusion, people will suddenly remember they need a piss or a cigarette, the dancefloor John Peel himself will be reduced to the state of a man who's told a joke that doesn't make sense or a street performer who's fallen off their unicycle. And yet they still insist on being at every fucking party I go to.

LOOOOOL

What's "Alt-J"?

Also, the term "Blog Bros" is fucking hysterical. To be honest, I'm actually surprised more of them (or ANY of them) don't rear their heads in this thread.

PS. Anyone know anything about this dude? Saw it on FB, but Beatport and Soundcloud are blocked, so I can't listen to any of it. Never heard of him before :/

Finished off BenUFO's Fabriclive on my commute home, and cannot believe how bad it is. The latter half was one big what-the-fuck moment after the next. Good track list (for the most part,), horrible pacing, boring mixing, it lacked all of the panache that he is known for as a selector and DJ.

Alt J is the hippest of the hip Uk band. Typical lead singer that sounds like he hasnt hit puberty, or has a nasal infection. They got nominated for the Mercury Prize or some shit. This should explain everything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCehjpyg1z8

And Blog Bros is my new term. thats gold.

Told you it was shit. Makes Zip's look like a shining beacon on a stormy night.

Isn't everyone always high at all times? I'm always surprised when I meet someone who doesn't get high, everyone smokes in NYC. Everyone.

Oh shit, that'll be on Youtube, yes? Make a note of how far into the set it is, kthx :)

I don't smoke, and yeah I'm usually the only one.
Completely different here in Australia... at least, Melbourne. I honestly don't know all that many people who smoke, which is weird.

Other drugs though... plenty! But none (maybe one or two) who really do it on a regular basis. Hell, I've gone from weekly (~3-4 years ago) to maybe once every few months. But that's mostly the people I hang out with (and the age we're all getting to, lulz) I think.

BTW, was reading a local music rag yesterday and found out I became famous:

If you're eyesight is absolutely shit, I've highlighted myself (in red) and a mate of mine (blue):

We were only killing time watching Halliwell (there was no-one else on) and it was fucking horrible. Sadly, Fedde Le Grand (who I thought might've actually been decent) was equally as shit. Hard, generic, banging electro that all sounded like it was made from the same Ableton session.
