Hmm, Kinda feel like getting a Kaz avy pulled together. Wonder what I should merge him with. My old Amon avy, or maybe Grimes... choices choices...

Reminds me of a line from this song:
The Kills - The Good Ones (Tiga remix)
(not a dancey track at all... more "indie dance", I guess? Great track anyway, but I digress...)

My little sister's eyes so wide
They must have been the size of the city moon tonight
My little sister's eyes so wide
Must have been the size of the city
Did you get the real good ones
Did you get the good ones

It's not super poetic or anything, but it's a fucking awesome simile, especially considering the song title ;)

Some tunes in there buried by tonnes of "meh" at best.
One more time as no1 is just..yeah.

These type of lists are always popularity contests. On the other hand I totally agree 'Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You' being in the top10, perhaps my favourite song of all time, always puts me in a good mood.

Never heard of luvstep before but damn I love this.

Boddika & Joy O are here tomorrow night as well, and I just can't bring myself to go. Two DJs I have been dying to see for years, and I just do not feel like it. It also doesn't help that a good friend of mine is going to Atlantic City to celebrate his birthday and, naturally, I'm expected to be there. BAH!

Prydz is going to be in AC today if I'm not mistaken.

i'm enjoying terminal 11's recent 2 releases pretty thoroughly. some interesting rhythms, especially in the second song. love the funky breaks. i can't say i'm enjoying too many of the remixes, but that's just me.
he has the full songs up on his soundcloud -
01 Hoover Assault on Precinct 11
02 Heather in Japan

Years? ~36 months they've been around (if that) is hardly what I'd consider "years". There'll be tons of opportunities to see them again :p

Boddika has been around for years as part of the Autonomic group. Joy O started releasing material over two years ago, so I'd say its been years. :p

I want to hear a collab between Nicolas Jarr and James Blake.
Just putting it out there as I was listening to that CS010 - Don't Break My Love LP earlier after picking it up last night.

miksushag you should sort out an avatar!

I bought the James Blake album without hearing any tracks other than limit to your love. I expected it to sound closer to Nicolas Jaar's sound and style. For me personally, Nicolas Jarr's output is incredible, and has an uncanny ability to match the sounds in my head.

Barely! Call me when there are guys who have been DJing for 30+ years who you miss out on :p

Don't worry, Avicii still has a few more years left in him. No need to worry so much when you miss his sets.

Avicii is incredible. i need more. MOAR!!!!!

Lush was most of that ripped from the school records show I linked?

I have to say messing about mixing with house/techo is so much more fun that hiphop and stuff. 8-16 bars is brutal compared to a nice 32. Found some pretty decent mixes aswell by pure accident. Might have to record something in the next few weeks.

Hey guys I've never popped in here since I am more of a lurker but I need some help finding more of this style music that uses a bunch of synthesized vocals. I have fallen in love with the few songs that I have come across but I need more. If you could be so kind and point me in the right direction? Here are some songs that I am talking about.

Rogue - Daybreak http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0cIUupoDEo

m4sonic - Paranormal(which looks like it disappeared off the internet somehow)

I missed getting to see Moodyman and Theo Parish awhile back, that sucked big time :(
Theo Parrish would've been rad :( Even though I may not've been able to appreciate what he was doing, I'm sure I would've been able to appreciate that he was doing it. Or something like that.

On the topic of DJs who have been around for yonks, I'd have no hesitation in recommending seeing Francois K playing a set. Fucking hell, that was good.

That first track was already grey/highlighted when you posted it, so I've already listened to it before. And according to my downloads folder, I only downloaded it two days ago (keeping in mind, it's just ticked over past midnight, so it's actually closer to a day and a bit than two whole days) so it's likely it's been posted in this thread before.

Because I basically never come across new music (not counting my DJ mates) unless you guys have said something about it.

Having said that, Adam Freeland can occasionally do the world a favour, so I'll check out that track within the next day or so.

Some examples of his service to the community include:
Evil Nine - Hired Goons (on Freeland's label, Marine Parade. First heard this on Freeland's 2004 EM, which I HIGHLY suggest everyone listened to, if only as an educational piece more than anything else... you can all learn a lot from it, I swear. I did)
Freeland - Under Control (Alex Metric remix) (now, listen to this and tell me it DOESN'T sound like it could pass for a Soulwax track. Soulwax as in the band, not the brothers Dewaele. Killer song)
Adam Freeland - Fear (Rez edit) (ignore the fact that it's from a game and that alone might detract from it... it's a fucking incredible, dubby edit/remix that can't be found anywhere else other than the Rez soundtrack. I wish I could find an excuse/venue/event to play this somewhere) (and yes, I know this is a different version than the one that actually appears in the game... but it's the one that's on the official soundtrack, so nyer :p)
Kelis - Trick Me (Adam Freeland remix) (looking back, there's not a hell of a lot to *love* about this track... but there's this drop at 3:45 that you can only really appreciate if you listen from the start of it (but it honestly starts at around 1:30) but it just feels so damn good when it finally lets loose... it's cathartic)

Blah, too much from me considering I'm only drunk and probably not far off from bedtime... hope some of you can find some value in this post!

<3

PS. Said Essential Mix (it's from 2003... apologies). It may not be your (not anyone specifically... just anyone who reads this thread) cup of tea specifically (trust me, it wasn't mine) but you'll learn a lot from it. You'll probably even like it as well! It still stands as one of my favourite EMs ever (if not my absolute fave, but that's a big call) but one thing I can say, is that it's the first EM I heard that made me take notice of Essential Mixes as a way of experiencing just how a particular artist's mind works when constructing a 2 hour set/playlist.

Ah yeh, it was up there ^ I see it.

Oh well, here's classic Freeland.

We Want Your Soul

Rise Above
I once had the (best) idea of combining the acapella of We Want Your Soul with Digitalism's Zdarlight. If you listen, you can hear it... but I lacked the software knowledge back when I first thought of it (we're talking 4-5 years ago at least, probably longer) to put it together in a competent manner.

I'd try it again, but I fear it'd sound too fucking dated. That, and I still don't have the base knowledge to put a simple acapella (that admittedly had a floating tempo... it didn't stay fixed over the whole track) together with a track that didn't have any vocal.
