Meh, "BRTHDTT" is a pretty boring track anyway. The true highlight of the "Think And Change" album is "&Fate", by faaaar. <3

Oh by the way, I don't know if the people on the EOY mix mailing list got my memo and posted it here or not, but if you wanted to get your hands on a LNTG vinyl, there's never been a better chance.

ausgLzhs.jpg

Tuff Cut #001 has just been released and is the first on LNTG's new label. It has Bless the Rains (Toto's Africa, which I was never super fond of but I'm aware it was pretty massive), Not In Love Anymore (Keep Forgettin' by Michael McDonald aka the one that sounds like Regulators) and my favourite on the entire thing, My Body's On Fire (a Janet Jackson track whose name I can't recall) which is quite possibly the sexiest, smoothest track he's done IMO.

I managed to order a copy for myself and a mate (as a birthday present) for $30AU shipped to Melbourne. With this release, it gives me hope that some of his [url=http://soundcloud.com/late-nite-tuff-guy/lovely-day-lntg-remix]other
amazing tracks will get a release.

Also ordered the limited edition release of Kavinsky's new LP, Outrun, seen here being modeled by creator of OutRun (the game) Yu Suzuki:

look whos back. have fun?
Oh yeah, of course!

The festival last weekend wasn't bad, but not great. Went in with basically no expectations but sadly most of them were met. Vath and Hawtin were both surprisingly average. Feed Me was fucking fantastic (as expected, with is With Teeth setup... that for some reason, WASN'T on a main stage. Would've been 3-4 times as many people see him and become fans if he wasn't tucked away in another area) and the (surprise, at least to me) Greg Wilson set was great, if only for the fact that he was playing in a faux-tavern with maybe 20-30 people rocking out to him consistently. Felt a lot like a bedroom/backyard set :)

If you didn't see my previous post, I had tickets to see him at a proper club gig after that festival... basically just asked him directly what time he was playing! Surreal as fuck.

Just saw that email earlier, sorry about that. Work was a CUUUUNNNNNT today, so couldn't respond. You can get "Not In Love Anymore" along with three other edits by him if you go to the Lightspeed Recordings Band Camp page (or PM me.) I play out NILA nearly every time I spin and it ALWAYS is a huge hit. Such a good edit...

Tada!

There's a whole bunch of amazing stuff on there, including some HMC things :)

Edit: my neighbors are going to HATE me! "Phreakin" on repeat all week!
Edit2: didn't realize that was on Beatport this whole time. I'm a doof.

YO. I can't post so I thought I might be able to get some help here. Is anyone able to point to a website / resource that could help me find equipment that I can use to make dubstep? I'm an old school musician that grew up recording on analog 4 tracks with drum machines and synths linked up via MIDI and now I want to build a new studio to make HD electronic music. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Edit - In case this artist hasn't been mentioned in the thread:

Good work! None of those names look familiar, so I'll suss them out.

PS. If you're looking for some decent remixers/editors, I posted some stuff by Teenage Mutants and they seem to be doing a decent job of it. Also, Drop Out Orchestra seem to be a bit of hot shit at the moment, too.

PPS. Don't think I didn't notice none of you bothered mentioning Lu Cont released an album sampler/teaser on his Soundcloud a week or so ago. Did you guys turn all pretentious and shit while I was gone?

Found a nice little surprise on my laptop last night! This is the mix I recorded in Harrah's casino in Atlantic City for my friend's party that nearly got us all banned from Harrah's.

Long story short: I brought my equipment, friend brought a small monitor, we had a small party in our hotel room (it was only three of us.) Neighbors next to us and across the hall joined in. Party spilled out into the hallway. 50 minutes later, security came. It got pretty heavy in there, and was absolutely worth it. Didn't realize I had recorded it, but I'm glad I did :)

Taa Baa, Mr. Mageeka, Skudge, Move D, Roman Flugel, Disclosure, Bodhi, more. Fun little mix.

is beloved, despite what anyone might say
William Orbit - Montok Point, the rather brilliant track from the album Strange Cargo Hinterland
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVlT1HIcIAM

... also used in a rather brilliant Cadbury's Celebrations advert set in a Japanese garden (!)

Reminds me now of Shenmue, and this video of Madonna's Ray Of Light also produced
by William Orbit haha

<3

Kinda wonder if this is a typo of "Montauk Point". Would be pretty funny if that's the case, wouldn't be the first electronic music song to make reference to some obscure part of LI.

That sounds like a rad little party! Can't download at work but I'll make an effort to get it when I get home (unless someone wants to reupload it to Mediafire ;) ).

PS. Still no opinions on the JLC sampler? You all suck :(

Sorry, babe. Just not my thing.

Can't appreciate it, though? I mean, there's no way in hell I'd listen to most of the stuff in that sampler on a regular basis, but in a set or a more commercial club (or at least, a club that doesn't try to be too trendy and only play left-of-centre music) I can see myself having fun with them.

Probably helps I'm a massive fan of his older stuff, I guess.

Haha, Scuba is so pissed at this song. Screaming that it rips off Adrenaline.....it does too. Lol when the bass kicks in. Its like Hawaian Scuba.

Pareja J - Yeah

Scuba ‏@ScubaUK
Who's heard that slightly bizarre if not downright diabolical cover / ripoff of Adrenalin currently being sold on Beatport?

Scuba ‏@ScubaUK
Seriously... what kind of a sick joke are they playing here:

lol

Edit: And more salty!

Scuba ‏@ScubaUK
Don't bother sending me tunes on Facebook. Seriously, it's a complete waste of time.

Dem Hotflush submissions.

Scuba ‏@ScubaUK
Massive LOL @ being called a "Hipster DJ"

I just find it funny that all this saltiness is coming from this guy

There is a song about 37-38 mins in and another one before what I think xxyyxx? and then into white noise that I want the names of!

Odd that I dont really like White noise but after hearing that in the mix I kinda do.

Thanking you!

Anything else like this about? Ive probably been awful and glanced over like a million posts by people posting stuff like this. For that I can only apologise.
