Randomer is the fucking shit. "Bring" is amazing (grabbing the vinyl next week), but his older stuff like his "Consciousness" remix and so on rock as well. When Blawan dropped "Ruffa" not long ago, I lost my shit like never before, pure orgasm.

That Kelela tape is one of the best things to come out this year. The production is absolutely insane. The two Nguzunguzu tracks especially killed it for me.

Been listening to Darkside - Psychic for the last few weeks. It's a collaboration between Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington. Dave adds a lovely layer of guitar to the music and it works very well indeed. Glorious stuff for anyone who liked Nico's earlier output.

I think it's out on iTunes next week, but I have a subscription to other-people.net and got it at the start of last week.

It's a pretty short lp at 45 minutes but there's not much wasted space here.

I think the track Paper Trails may be on YouTube and a good place to start. The last track is such a chill way to end the album.

Edit: duh, next time I should read a few posts above mine.

Nah, there are plenty of people fed up with flowery high pitched reverby vocals drifting over trinkety Burial-lite beats. Absurdly overdone and completely devoid of any emotional impact it might have ever had. Sure it's put together with competence, and I wouldn't call listening to it a waste of time, but to be anything more than "pretty good" you generally have to start putting yourself out there and try to make statement that goes further than "I want to be featured in FACT".

Just so it's not all negatives from me, this year I have really liked: Dwig, Huerco S, Kyle Hall, Audio Atlas, Maxmillian Dunbar, Omar S, Classix... plus The Knife and Tim Hecker if those count in this thread.
I'm sure I'll be posting high praises when Ghettoville comes out. \m/

Oh and ftr this Four Tet is getting more interesting towards the middle, I'm on Kool FM now.

Edit: Buchla is cool too.
