I think the last one was the season 7 premiere when he was playing Bizarro.
We have Oliver for that now.

**UPDATE**
Since I barely have enough time for my own website let alone try and look at others, I have no idea if this has been announced anywhere yet. So if it has, great. If not, yay for me...
1. Tom Welling has not only signed for a 9th season, but a 10th as well.
2. Discussions have been taking place to transition the show into a full blown Superman series as it's been 13 years since we had one and WB wants talk of Welling and the film franchise to die off quietly. I was completely dead on with my assumption that Doomsday being buried was a set-up for next season. They have something really huge planned.
3. The suit was designed and would have been in the final episode if they did not get a 9th season, but Welling apparently now feels it should not be brought into the show yet. This could change if it goes all out Superman.
So says Exec Producer Brian Peterson....

'Smallville' scoop: Are they casting Zod?!

It sure sounds like it based on this season 9 casting notice that just fell into my lap:
MASON: Late 20's early 30's. He's a handsome charismatic charmer who savors life. He appreciates good food, loves fast cars and sees beauty in every woman. There isn't a detail in life that eludes his senses. He is a master of seduction... knowing what everyone wants and needs before they do. But don't let his magnetism fool you. There's more than meets the eye. His intelligence can't be matched. He outmaneuvers everyone in his path. Though he longs to find a home, that vulnerability can be twisted -- making him a force to be reckoned with."
Thoughts?!
The character description didn't sound too much like Metamorpho the Element Man.Kevin said:On the KryptonSite forums, people are speculating that it could be a character called "Metamorpho" since his real name is Mason.
Unless it's another bullshit 'host' for the villain.Ripclawe said:
"...from crew! ED was offered major feature film but was unable to commit due to early season Smallville obligation. She begins filming Smallville July 7th on first episode of season 9, that may possibly take her into the first 10 episodes!"
