Japanese release date for FFXII:

Final Fantasy 12 - 2006.03.16

That event kicked off today, and IGN got the chance to view the World of Mana trailer. The short, CG trailer starts off with a scene of birds seemingly flying through a forest. As the trailer progresses, a symphonic score slowly growing in the background, the forest turns out to be the top of a massive tree. Hundreds or maybe thousands of birds are swarming this tree, which shoots up from a surrounding forest like a skyscraper amongst single story houses.

World of Mana info:

This is the final big show of the July month for Japan. What will we see? Definitely Kingdom Hearts II as well as the new re-unveiling of Final Fantasy XII (is Matsuno still working on it? Did he kill himself?), as well as many of those FFVII side things. As for surprises, it should be interesting... there's definitely gonna be some new unveilings, as well as playable versions of new Square Enix products.

Tetsuya recently commented on which of the games he's working on would be playable/seen, so here's what he said:

-There will be a FFVII Compilation and Kingdom Hearts II booth that will feature a, roughly, 8 minute trailer comprised of footage for KHII, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Dirge Of Cerberus and finally for the 7 minutes left will be for Advent Children since this is the last major show for film before hitting the Venice Film Festival and stores worldwide. He mentions that this trailer will not be on the AC DVD.

-3 titles will be playable at the show including Kingdom Hearts II, Dirge of Cerberus and a third title that will be a "world premiere".

-Aside from that he mentions preorders for the Limited Pieces edition of AC have exceeded the number of units they planned to produce and that they're still talking about the possibility of AC having a limited theatrical release.

Confirms that FFVII: Crisis Core (PSP) will definitely be seen in at least video form - maybe just the anime crap again? Hopefully the "world premiere" he's talkin' about is hands on with it, or maybe something else?

On the KHII side, hopefully a solid release date and a revealing of the other "secret" worlds - Lilo and Stitch? Robin Hood? Who knows...

We'll see Coded Age Commanders, Grandia III, etc...etc...

Featuring Nobou Uematsu and other special guests, it will feature footage from the game as well as a talk session with Uematsu. Also, there will be release of a big news....


July 31st - Final Fantasy XII Premium Stage Vol.2


Featuring Hitoshi Sakimoto and other special guests, the composer that is in-charge of the entire soundtrack will have a special live talk show! Brand new information will also be released. Also among the special guests will be the voice actors and actresses of the main cast and motion actors.

borys its a public event, I doubt Square enix will release the trailers/gameplay movies on the web right away. We will have to wait for the people to get back from the show and share their info/vids with us. And the event is stil 4 1/2 hours away. best thing is to check back tomorrow morning

Yeah, I read that earlier in the thread, so hell if I know how did I count that time. JST is UTC+9 and NY time is UTC-5. That's a 14 hour difference - or am I missing DST, or some other thing?

But in any case... The first day ends at 6pm. So we'll _probably_ have to wait 8 hours after the show will start for first photos and any videos.
