I totally didn't know that this was going on today and saw it while going through Akiba this morning. :lol

Then I saw that there were SSFV cabinets and was even happier. Then I realiuzed that I was standing beside Ono-san. So I talked to himn for a bit and took a picture.

I'm glad it's getting an arcade version- when is that being released?

My thinking: arcade release= better grip of balance/bugs= better US version eventually.

No way Capcom would not fix an arcade version if it was turning into LOL , and no way US players would accept a buggy US version if Japanese arcade is better.

Were any of the Japanese players using the unblockable ultras in that tourney yet?

Coming to arcade, woo!

Good news, but it was obvious that it would come.

Especially when a nearly broken snk/p can release KOF XIII for arcades and have it picked up by SBO. :lol

Once again,Ono defeated the evil and greedy Capcom and was able to get them to pay for an arcade version of super.Well, that's going to be his official version of course and I'm sure a lot of people will eat it up.

He's full of shit, but I still like the guy. There's no one within those FG developers who can generate hype and interest like he can.

Fixed it. :lol

Ono also told me something about them coming to Hamburg on the 7th. Maybe they are also visiting some cities in the US?

The guy's allright in my book. Just watching him talk and thanking the fans for their support when he was on stage, it really shows how much love he and effort he puts into the game, even though he knows the obstacles he has to hurdle and the fact that he can't please everyone.

Agreed, Ono's a cool guy. He was actually crying on the stream ^__^

Oh he's a cool nerdy/geeky guy for sure, but he spew so much bullshit that it's :lol

I still remember his quote from a Toronto event where he said: 66% of Capcom is against SF IV and it's going to be really hard to get an update. We have to keep fighting, petition and blah blah blah.He had no money to make SF IV dash, etc (couple of months before announcing SSF IV).

When he revealed super,he admitted that it was easy to get money for SSF IV and that they started working on it a couple of months after the console release of IV. :lol

Anyway, the marketing genius worked his magic yet again and that's all that matter.Instead of a standard announcement of SSF IV for arcades in the latest arcadia,it's an explosion of joy for something that was planned all along and thus even more hype is being generated for Street fighter.I actually saw on SRK: guys, the petition worked... :p

capcom must have been pissed at that original leak. :lol

its amazing how accurate it was, and another this is if that there was something on that list that didnt make it into the game believe me that said feature was cut rather than false.

I'm surprised the announced the Arcade version this fast, I was expecting them to release the console ver, patch it as many times necessary to make it balance and then release the Balance version to Arcades.

But it seems they are happy with their balancing then.

Mash out of throws?

Elaborate.

I'm not a fan of easy throw escapes; I prefer the SFA/SF3 throw recovery system style stuff.

I'd rather have instant one button throws back in the games. As I mentioned earlier, or elsewhere, I'm old - cut me a break - I went from playing KoF12, CvS2, SFA3 (FFFFFUCK X-ISM!), SF3, and SF4 last weekend and christ almighty! PICK A THROW COMMAND AND STICK WITH IT! >:|

Especially you Capcom.

f/b+p/k = throw is best! Unless your name is Virtua Fighter, then you get a pass. :D

You'll appreciate KOF13, they put the single-buttton throws back in.

That said, SNK was notorious for corner crossup weirdness in some games (NGBC was the worst offender)

I hope that the arcade version does not stop Capcom from realising a balance patch, if it's needed.

I'm very disappointed that they did not balance-patch SF4. It's the main reason why I will not get SSF4 at the console launch. (I'll wait for the PC launch)

If anything, it makes it more likely that they'll fix the balance if the balance needs fixing. If SBO ends up 90% Dudleys and Ryus, they'll do something
(about the Dudleys)

It's called SSF4.
So arstal is asking for SSF4 Turbo Edition ?

Balance patching a fighting game is not an easy task.
You have to update every arcade, and people without internet will playing an outdated game.

EDIT: fubarduck am happy. :D

They did a balance patch to console SFIV (Made Feilong weaker by removing his infinite on Seth + Abel)

If Makoto sucks i wonder if that would make me like her more. One of the reasons i find dudes like Q and Remy charming is because they're so bad. And watching folks like kuroda and pierrot win it thrilling to say the least.

Knew it would be this - I kinda hate them for building up all this hype by making us wait for the only obvious announcement, and making it sound impossible until now - but screw it, it's official, and the incredible gameplay is gonna continue with the new characters, and finally with the console-only characters as well...

Makes me giddy just thinking about that now... :)

I seriously won't need another fighting game now - 8 player lobbies, arcade version, and streams to watch the best of the best play worldwide - all for 40 bones no less (well, 30 in my case, plus the free costume pack) - fuckin' a.

Excited about the Arcade release! Partially in a nerdy 'what it does for the community' sense, and partially because I'm going to China(where arcades still sort of exist) for a year in August. Even if I do manage to bring a console, there definitely won't be room for a stick as well -- so the prospect of still getting to play super is nice!

Extremely excited about an arcade release of this. I have no doubt the arcade I frequent will get it. Is there a confirmed release date for the arcade boards, or just the basic announcement?

How does the arcade release help owners of the console version? Will they patch anything for us if they notice it in the arcade circuit? Ono's pretty much mentioned already they all want a break from SF.

It just makes the global SF4 scene as strong as possible. It means that everyone around the world will get to enjoy the game. It makes a lot of people happy, but it doesn't mean much for the United States outside of a few arcade hotspots on the East and West coast that you will probably never visit.

This and Tekken 6. Such good times and won't need a fighter till KOFXIII come out (maybe) at the end of the year. I'm not entirely sure if I want to try and get into Blazblue again but eh...gotta keep focus on just a couple instead of a lot.

I'd say it also make the less popular characters more viable. You can just look at the console-exclusive characters in vanilla sf4 and see how much fewer players are playing them competitively together with much less variety in their playstyles. I mean, we don't even really know how console sf4 characters like Gen, Cammy, Gouken, Sakura etc. would fare if more people played them competitively and developed them more instead of the select few players in the US scene.

I wonder if SSFIV in Japan is going to have the same Battle Card information like SFIV. I always thought that idea was cool.

can't imagine anyone doing much with Gen in Super, Japan or otherwise though

It's too early for anyone that has the game (leaked or press) to test the netcode, right? I'm worried if they kept the netcode the same, that lobbies/spectators will have a negative effect on it.
