The Order: 1886 Delayed Into 2015. [Stop talking about MS lineup]

So people should judge their happiness with their console based on how well said console is selling?

You've got a strange way of looking at these things. I gain my enjoyment out of actually playing games, not how well the console is selling.

I'm talking about the concern trolls coming in and being worried for Sony. I'm personally pretty disappointed since this was the big Fall game (especially with no Uncharted this year) I looked forward too but I'm not going to go and say that Sony is doomed or that they'll suddenly start loosing because that's illogical.

2015 is going to be really great though

The Order has really been the goalpost that certain forumdwellers have attached an unhealthy amount of weight to. I expect it to perform about 2 million sales WW. But some people seem to think it's the next 10m seller and that the whole system war comes down to this single title. It doesn't. The Order is a nice title to have but it's not essential.

I'm OK with this. If it needs to be delayed, then so be it. Better than rush it for the holidays, that's for sure.

Still lots of games to play this year. So it's fine.

This is extremely disappointing and frankly if MS delivers some good exclusives this fall, I'm getting a Xbone. So far Sony's output has been piss poor, I hope they have some sort of exclusive lined up for the fall (don't give a shit about DriveClub)

Which makes no sense since Sony will still easily outsell the X1. Some people are seriously misinformed and think exclusives are the main drive behind sales.

You do realise that the amazing exclusives the PS3 had is a major reason, if not the reason, that it caught up with the 360 in sales, right?

With the $50 increase on the PS4 here in Canada, my PC being good enough to run most of the multiplats coming out this year, and what I would like to play on a PS4 being delayed in to 2015, it looks like I'm holding out another year to get a PS4.

lol Let's not act like Xbone's 2014 is any better. We still have several rumored games to be shown according to ntkrnl's leak and even then, it's not worth hyping like people are trying to. Nintendo just might have the best game lineup going into the fall.

Bayo and hyrule warriors? That's the best? Smash wii u is winter, not holiday. Aka is 2015 not 2014.

certainly needed. the chest high wall spacing was atrocious and their topology leaves much to be desired.

No one knows if Driveclub is any good yet....

Never buy a console in its first year... I will never learn this

PS 1/2/3. The writing was kinda on the wall.

They said Winter 2014, it may be delayed (lord knows with Nintendo), but that's what they've said. Bayo, Hyrule Warriors, Monolith Soft RPG 'X' and maybe some surprises (Been a while since we heard about Yarn Yoshi, for example).

It came up all the time. "They're relying on third-parties, it's not enough". Then someone would say "I have plenty of stuff to play on XBLA". But a lot of people didn't want to count smaller DL games. This gen is a literal swap of last gen. The opinions stayed the same but the corporate sponsorship on the avatars didn't.

I thought the issue with the latter years of the 360 was games weren't being made, not that games were being delayed 6 months?

Funny how it was set for 2014 until that RAD dev read all the neogaf comments.

lol

Dunno if that has anything to do with the delay. Though the game looked like derivatve shooter #43 from the get go to me, ever since the E3 reveal, I honestly don't see what people were expecting.

- Bayonetta 2
- Hyrule Warriors
- Smash Bros. (The game is coming Winter 2014. That means December, still in prime shopping time for Xmas)
- X
- Whatever else they show at E3

As of now, that's a hell of a lot better than what MS and Sony have planned. I might just get a Wii U soon, if the price is right.

I'm excited for this, but as far as i'm concerned they never really reiterated it was coming Fall 2014, always suspected it would be later on. I really really hope though, Sony gives us some of those indies they revealed at Gamescom, well not indies, but smaller games. Rime for example, plus there are plenty of multi plats to play this fall, not a great deal, unless you only play PlayStation for exclusives.

Ugh, I hope it isn't the next Driveclub to the point where it gets pushed back to mid yearish. Pretty disappointed with the PS4 in its first year.

Don't believe his lies.

So basically for Soony titles you should add around 6 months to the announced release date to be safe.

Soony and MS seemed to have swapped around...

Although I wasn't exactly taken with this specific game, I am worried about what this means for games going forward. Is this a trend? What are the specific non-bullshit (Menu's??) reasons for the delays? Is the PS4 harder to develop for than what was stated? Are they just writing off the hardcore buyers and 2014 as a whole? They want a bigger install base to release games to? Are the Soony QA team bringing things to a halt? How are they making these decisions, Shu playing them and deciding they aren't good enough? Are we only going to get games that appeal to Shu now? Would killzone have got delayed if it wasn't a launch title due to "a lack of polish"?

The PS3 caught up thanks to its very strong global presence. All those exclusives did next to nothing for them in NA where the 360 manhandled it. Even with TLOU, the 360 still came on top. Want to guess what finally put the PS3 ahead for a month? GTA5, a multiplat

Yep I am glad I have a WiiU right now.

maybe they need time to wean away from the Cell programming type of mindset

Both next gen consoles are gonna heavily rely on multi platform, and independent games this year. We're just coming off an really long console generation, so it's gonna take time for games to be made for this gen. Having said that..2015 may be one of the best year for games ever!

MGSV TPP, The Order 1886, Uncharted 4, Final Fantasy XV, just to name a few.

Polygon - The Order: 1886 is a cover-shooter with grand aspirations

"]My gun is terrific. It shoots multiple projectiles, which bury themselves in the woodwork around my targets. They do not seem to do much harm, until I augment them with a fireball, which lights up the projectiles. My enemies die horribly, soon to be replaced by new waves of roof-crawling baddies. We escape, move onto a new set of barricades, and get down to some urgent exposition.

I play the scene again. This time I try different approaches to killing the enemies, but they all wind up with me being slain. So, stay behind immediately available cover, shoot, advance. Got it."
^ Not liking this at all, hopefully the delay gives them the chance to make the game feel less scripted.
