The Order: 1886 Delayed Into 2015. [Stop talking about MS lineup]

I really hope that we get something at E3, even if it is just a steady stream of smaller titles that are exclusive to the system.

I have to say I'm surprised about this news. The twitch "reveal" on Friday even makes less sense now with the delay. Sony marketing genius as always.

As it stands right now Fall 2014 for the PS4 is a complete tragedy for the general consumer. You can't release only a racing game and say you are supporting a new platform because that is simply not true. And once again they lucked out because Halo 5 isn't ready for release this Fall, because if it was they would take a massive beating this Fall.

At least release Planetside 2 on the Fall and add online multiplayer for The Order. Make something.

And how were they wrong, exactly?

Forza 5, Killer Instinct, Ryse...these were all 360 games bumped over to the XBO. Same from Crimson Dragon. TitanFall is a 3rd party exclusive, not 1st-party. Sunset Overdrive is a 3rd-party exclusive, not 1st-party. Forza Horizon 2 may or may not be coming out this year. Halo AE is a remaster much like TLOU; not a new game, just a port. And just like Sony indie games such as Resogun and Hohokum, stuff like Plants vs. Zombies Warfare doesn't get counted for whatever reason, so they're mute.

Those rumors were true, Sony already has 3 major 1st party exclusives on their system compared to MS's 2. On the surface MS looks in better shape but that's almost entirely thanks to moneyhats; not that I'm shaming them for it (typical business practice), but beneath the surface their 1st party output has actually been slower than Sony's.
It doesn't matter if they were moved over from 360, they are still exclusive to the Bone. We also only really know it for Crimson Dragon and Ryse. Sunset Overdrive is second party, same with The Order. Not third party.

Complete tragedy? What hyperbole. I'll be just fine delving into third party games.

Sounds like you're upset about the delay and you're projecting. It's okay. Didn't we expect this delay all along?

Haha. I'm happy about the delay. I don't like paying for rushed releases. If the game needs more time, give it more time.

I have more than enough to play on PS4 this fall.

I'm going to guess March-April. Early 2015 is a bit vague but vague enough to be stretched.

Driveclub was also delayed to Early 2014 and now it has an October release date (if it doesn't get delayed once again)

Why do list wars people always omit MLB the show? It's a a solid game.

Sports games aren't popular on GAF so that's why most people forget about them. And yes it's a good game, my GOTY 2014 so far.

Not ideal for their fall exclusive slate unless they have something big their sleeve.

Fine by me as fall is crowded with stuff I want to play and I'd have to leave several games until spring anyway.

Disappointing. I hope they add local co-op. Otherwise the game looked pretty boring. Just the same standard tps cover shooting mechanic from countless titles before it.

Sony have put too much emphasis on graphical fidelity for the first round of games and it has meant delays to fix up gameplay issues. That was a mistake.

I doubt the delay is even to fix up gameplay issues. I think it's more likely that the obsession with graphics just happens to be a very resource intensive addiction that prevented them from applying the normal amount of polish games get.

E3 is in two weeks. I still expect Sony to have something else in store for Fall 2014.

It'll be perfect if it comes out around the time inFamous came out this year.

I was still finishing up with games from launch when it came out. And considering it's going to be a busy fall, it'll be perfect, especially if there are some sales around Christmas time and I have some extra games to play.

I'm guessing they're shooting for March 2015. Infamous actually did pretty well in that slot even with Titanfall releasing so I'd imagine they do that as I expect Uncharted fall 2015. I honestly think SSM will be spring 2016 as they usually stick with the spring time slot.

Fine with me... have plenty of other games to play and the game should be more polished for it. Also there probably won't be as many games coming out around then compared to this fall!

Delaying a game is better than releasing a turd. PS4 will be just fine with superior console versions of multiplatform releases.

It is a bit unusual for SCE to not have a big 1st party game during a whole year though. The Order being a new IP from a small independent dev studio was always shaky in its release schedule. I wonder if cancelled SSM game was supposed to be that game originally...

I would quote myself from the other thread where I mention that it could get delayed even later then the rumored February date but I am too humble for that... ;) lol...

Anyway,no problem with somewhere in 2015,as long as it's not September down the line...

I'm not interested in remasters like Beyond 1080p Souls or Wonderbook: Ustream Adventures.

And I seriously doubt any company will announce a game in June that is going to release in the Fall unless it's the usual annual franchises or they want the game to fail.

This Holiday season is going to be an absolute joke for the PS3.

The only hope for a semi-decent Holiday is the off-chance (and a really slim off-chance) that Sony will announce some surprise title at E3 for later this year.

Otherwise this will be a abominable year for Sony's WWS and PS4 gamers.

No way.

A new IP don't just 'get announced at E3 and release fall that same year.' Besides, if the game was that far into development, Sony would be insane to cancel it. Let's not forget SSM just shipped Ascension last year, so a lot of their resources were still on GoW before moving into Stig's new IP.

Besides, DemonNite said that a 'teaser' was being prepared for that game.

Thanks god it's official. Also, huge respect to RaD for not releasing it early, just because it was supposed to be 2014 title. Polish it up and show us how it's done when you're ready.

I really hope Sony has got some heat to announce at E3, because this fall is looking like last fall for them. Nothing but third party titles you can buy on the OTHER guys box which is now the same price as yours. That lead isn't insurmountable SONY.

Yeah. 30 PS4 exclusive titles in development with 20 PS4 exclusive in the first year.

What an utterly mendacious fallacy.

That guy should get a round house kick to the face for that BS!

Its even worse than last fall. Embarrassing isn't a word for this. IT was bad enough when it was just DC and The Order.

It still matters. Again, that rumor was about original 1st-party XBO games, not 3rd...2nd-party (okay so I don't know the absolute difference btwn the two) exclusives or games moved from the 360. They're exclusives now, yes, but if things went differently KI, F5, DR3...they'd of came out for 360, and TitanFall would've been on PS4. Everyone knows why that didn't happen.

And TBF, there are games on Sony's side like Last Guardian which are the same deal as KI and F5; not games natively designed for the new hardware, just ported from last-gen to current-gen. It's not some badge of shame, just pointing out a truth.

Do indie games still not count?

Do indie games still not count?

Oh dude come on! People need to drop this line.

I didn't buy a $400 next-gen system to play some lame ass mini-games that would be more at home on my smart phone.

Oh and DriveClub shouldn't even really count towards Sony's Fall 2014 lineup since it was a delayed launch title. How the hell do your development teams have nothing ready for a Holiday season 1 friggin year after launch?

Sunset? D4? The much rumoured H2A and Horizon 2?

There's also Quantum Break, but that'll probably be delayed until 2915 too...
Neither Sunset or D4 are serious. They're potentially solid games, but Microsoft isn't throwing out any big guns so far this holiday season. It's a new IP and a spiritual successor in a niche series a lot of people don't even know about. I don't see Sony or anyone else shaking in their boots if that's what Microsoft goes to bat with this holiday season.

I'd wait until anything concrete before I'd count any game that's rumored for this year.
